You probably know me by now,i've already written 2 reviews (actually the second one was just a question) on this game. I kept on writing reviews,but actually I didn't get the game yet. I just played it once at my friend's house,that's when I saw the game and said:WOW!!!THIS IS THE GAME I WANT FOR CHRISTMAS!!!! I told my mom and she ordered it here at this website right away. Then,every single day I checked the e-mail and stuff to see if it finally shiped,but it never did. Until my mom checked the e-mail and saw a message that said that it didn't ship until Monday(that is the 22 of December)so I got anxious and nervious at the same time. Until today(it did come the 22 but my mom wanted to keep it for the 25)I finally opened it and I can't get away from the screen. I'm sorry I didn't really write about the game,but if you wanna hear my oppinions about this game read my first review the one that says:from a 10 year old gamer.

By the looks of it Rockstar has done it again, like GTA3 i'm anticipating this arrival. Unlike being the dull boy, I can really cause havoc in a harmless virtual heaven. Keep up the hits rockstar, you ROCK!!!

We received our copy on 2-16-02 and did not stop playing until this morning (2-18-02 and we did stop to sleep). The graphics are sweet and the sound effects take it to the next step. The game continues getting better after you complete missions in the Revolution mode. After you complete the mall Spanky from the front cover steps into the game and hold on as your ability to give someone the beat down increases. Great game!
Rockstar made GTA3 the greatest game ever so buy this

It seems rockstar most have solved most of the slow down problems that are sometimes noticeable in Grand Theft Auto 3 when many characters are on the screen. If so, than this game looks awesome. I better finish GTA3 soon so I can pay full attention to this one when it arrives at my doorstep.

I have been waiting for this game since i read about it last summer... the release date was pushed back after what happend on 9/11... as a long time PSX enthusiast i can say this game and this game alone will get me to break my hunt for a used PS2 and go out and bight the suggested retail bullet... awh heck better find out if its coming out on the XboX... now that would be A.I. mayhem! i want a 'RockStar'(Games) jersey.

THis game looks awesome. I saw all the screenshots, and it looks like a GTA3, but more of a comical view with a lot broader ingridients. THe amount of DIFFERENT people is cool, The graphics arent bad at all, but i guess ill decide when i actually get it.

I own this game and there is no match to it. It is way better than gta3 and you get different weapons. Gta3's weapons got boring. This game is also more realistic because you can break any window, blow up almost any building, and you can also pick almost anything up and hit people with it. Plus the cheats are a lot better because instead of just having more of something like in gta3, it gives you unlimited of it. There is INVINCIBILITY and UNLIMITED AMMUNITION plus a lot more.

Many people said this game [was bad]... But, I have to tell you, since GTA 3, I have not seen a game that was as extremely gratifying, in the sense of being a [great] game. This one did it. It ranks right up there with GTA 3, only instead of stealing cars and stuff, your in a public place with weapons, just beating... everyone you see. It's perfect. This and GTA 3 are the must haves of the Sony PS2 line. Rockstar did it again, a must have for anyone 3-99. (ok, parents, don't get this for your kids, extreme graphic content and blood... [It's] definately for all you dads out there who love beating... anyone you see...)
Its not GTA3 so dont expect GTA3

One of the worst mistakes you can make is renting a game and hoping for the past. This game explores a entirely different world of crime. Not organized crime but more about crimes of hatred. Rioting, as used in this game, is provoked. Organized crime is for a profit to people. In GTA3 you tried to avoid causing damage (tried to avoid) in SOE your objective is to cause damage. I know everyone is entitled to their opinion but dont judge a game based on other very good games. Each game has its own personality to entertain certain people.

If only for what this game allows the player to do, State of Emergency should win accolades, but when you take into account the theme and entertainment accents, any mature PlayStation 2 owner should definitely add this to their collection.
In contrast, the level of violence and gore in this game is enough to turn off any parent. In today's world it certainly wouldn't be prudent to have children playing this game.
But none the less, the graphics are great. The sound is of the same production calibur as GTA3 and the entertainment factor is incredible. I'm a little concerned about the replay value at this stage - just owning the game for two days - but we'll see.
If only for it's production and presentation value, if you're a mature gamer and want to take out a mob of people in a mall, this game is for you.
