I love Spiderman 2! This game is so much better than the last game. You can do many more things. You can go anywhere in the city! You can even diliver pizzas! You can run around on the ground and beat up criminals! Get this game!

ok at first you are gonna love this game i can understand i mean the 1st one sucked!!! anyway i loved this game but after you beat this game and (while you are playing it) it gets SOOOO OLD!!!! you end up saving the same people doing the same city events!!!!(grand theft auto way better) its a fun game but it gets old!(by way this is my moms acount)

I really liked this game a lot. Of course, me being me I never actually play it. I like to watch my sister and my dad play it actually. but when I do play it I swing around the city. It is so much fun! the graphics are great and the characteristics of the characters in it are so mcuh like the original. PLEASE buy it it's the best PS2 game out.

Well, the verdict is in. In Spider-man 2, you truly can do whatever a spider can, and much, much more. You can swing through New York City, climb to the top of skyscrapers, battle thugs, gangs, robbers and supervillains and even deliver a few pizzas while you're at it. Yes, sir. This game is better than any 3D spider-man game up to this point.
But it's not perfect.
From the start of the game, you make it a habit to explore the city and resolve crimes, both petty and serious, for which you earn hero points, with which you can purchase new moves and enhancements at the spidey store. This is a fine little method of making sure the game doesn't get boring over time.
Overall, the strongest aspect of this game is in the gameplay of the regular New York City crime-hunting levels. Swinging through the city and fighting bad guys, using your spider-sense to dodge their attack, then either punching them, webbing them up or kicking them from above is probably the most fun I have had in a long time gameplay-wise.
The problems in this game stem largely from the storyline-based missions you're asked to perform. For example, early on, you have to get past a fluctuating radiation field to reach a series of switches that you have to punch to turn off, then later, when Mysterio shows up, guess what? Right. Platform-moving, switch-hitting and such like tired gaming cliches abound. Some of the bosses and mini-bosses gave me some trouble at first, but only until I learned how to use my powers. As I said, it's really the gaming cliches and dumb-feeling mini-games that surround characters like Mysterio that take away from the gameplay. If you want the best possible experience out of this game, you could absolutely refuse to undergo any storyline missions, and you'd still have the real fun of this game (swinging around, beating the snot out of bad guys.)
And what kind of incentive does the game give you to finish? Well, you can buy more upgrades at the spidey store every chapter or so, but after a while, they're just expensive speed upgrades that aren't too noticable. If the game had given you a "replay with different options, modifications, character, costume and so forth" option like the N64 Spider-Man game did, I would have felt more compelled to keep playing after I beat it, because it would have felt like there was something to accomplish.
Now, make no mistake, I WILL keep playing it, because it feels really good to be Spider-Man in New York City, but it disappoints me that such a wonderful gaming element should have to stand alone instead of being integrated into a true masterpiece.

My first game review - I just had to say something:This game is horrible!

They tried to copy the Grand Theft Auto format, and it just doesn't work. The gameplay is sporadic, and the story line sucks, AND THE GRAPHICS ARE HORRIBLE. You get a face staring at you while someone tells you there is a crime going on - their lips don't move, and their body doesn't move

They also copied Matrix-like moves (spiderman jumps in the air, and while in the air begins to punch and kick the bad guy while suspended).

You'll waste your time swinging aimlessly around like Tarzan.
This game is way worse than the Spiderman 1 game.

Trust me, rent this game first. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY.

This game is better than the first game but the story line is gay just like the movie.But the part about fredom through the city is awsome.another draw back is the citizons that you help on the streets get old after you beat them about 100 times.overall this game is pretty awsome.

good things:

-spidey can go on the ground unlike the first game

-there are really cool combos you can do like hanging thugs on poles and pulling their guns away and stuff like that

bad things:

-the graphics are sooooo bad that if a friend came over and played this game they would say "i didnt know this was a playstation 1 game"

-the missions are sooooo repetitive that you can guess which one it will be

all in all its kinda fun but when your mom would call you up for supper you would say"im too busy beating up thugs i beat up 5 seconds ago"well maby you wouldnt say that exactly that but it would be close.nuff said!

If there is somebody out there saying that spiderman 2 the game stinks. Well I will personally stalk you and tear each eyeball off your Idiotical, and ignorant face. In not many words Spiderman is the best superhero ever. And the game pictures his greatness. The gameplay is similar to the Gameplay of GTA. You get to go any where any time. Heck if you let someone die you just loose hero points, but big @%$en deal. The graphics are great I mean every thing in this game is realistic from the city enviroment to your web swinging abilities, no more sticking to nowhere webs, and thats good news. Also the game has no levels meaning that you get to do different tasks around the city but like I said before you can laze off, you can let the people die or let the robbers get away. In my case I just beat the hell of the robbers, but I let the people die.
In not many words this game kicks serious @#$# and if you still feel sore about it then it's not because you played the game, it's because you are a scared mama's boy who wants to play "E" games all your life. Not That I have anything against "E" games. I only have something against babyish people who can't stand an intense game, not that there is anything intence of this game.
