SCARY AS HELL

WOW! This game is the scariest game I have EVER played, You probably know the story so I'll just talk about the sound effects and stuff like that. The monsters are so life like meaning the graphics have really inmroved since SH 1, they are scary and some are pretty annoying but it's fun to unlock kick-ass weapons and beat the crap out of them. The enviorments around you are so real looking and with the sound effects you feel like you are actually in the game! What really makes this game a white knuckle thriller is the music, the music was spine tingling and will get your attention. This game is great for people who love games that will give them nightmares and make them scared to turn off lights or go to sleep. You will stay on your seats edge, I have already had to pause and put the game down for a about an hour to simply look into a bathroom stall in the mall(you will know what I mean if you play this game) Because of this one scene in the mall's bathroom I am scared to go into my own bathroom! What happens is you walk into the bathroom and knock on the stall that's farthest to the left, when no one answers start to walk away while keeping your eye on the stall. The door will open and no one will be there, but there is a blood soaked toilet. I have only had this game for 2 days and I love it! It is a must buy! Just writing about this game has made me sick...literally!

An experience I will never forget.

It's good that you took the time to read this review, beacuse if you are, like I am, a horror fan, this is a very fair warning.

PLAYING THIS GAME MAY SCAR YOUR HORROR LOVING MIND AND REMOVE ANY AND ALL ABILITY TO BE FRIGHTENED BY ANY MOVIE/BOOK/GAME IN THE FUTURE.

There i've said it. Yes it's that scary. Shortly after I played this game I went to see "28 Days Later" on Dvd. No effect. I hadn't seen Sixth Sense so I gave it a shot. No effect. In fact these movies were rather boaring, only after I played Silent Hill 3. Silent Hill goes beyond fear and no words in the human language could possibly describe it accurately. But here goes nothing.

Do you ever wake up at night from an increadibly scary dream, but you know it's a dream that shouldn't be scary, but it is? Something about that dream just scared the living S*it out of you and you lay there alone in your bed trying to push the horrifying images out of your head? That feelings comes up multiplyed by 10, when playing this game. Your palms WILL become sweaty, you WILL jump at the slightest sound in the real world even if it's your cat walking over that bag of doritos you had earlier. I could go on telling you how much this game will scar you mind, but i best get on with the details.

If you aren't new to the series, the controls are nothing new. The graphics take a huge leap. And the puzzles are just as satisfying as the last two games. The enemies are just as twisted, ranging from mutated, disfigured, things lurching down the hallway, to the gruesomely horrifying freaks that enjoy mutilating dead bodies in their spare time, when they're not trying to club you with rusty metal pipes. The story is very detailed and deep but, like all silent hill games, leaves off with pleanty to think about. The game starts off a little slow, but holds you long enough for you to really get into the meat and true horror of the series. New comers, stick with the game and make your way through it. Like any good book or movie, it does start off somewhat slow, but then grabs you by the neck later on and won't let go.

Everyone who plays this game, it is impossible NOT to get scared when playing, and if you don't find this game the least bit frightening... seek mental help... IMEDIATLY.

DISTURBINGLY FRIGHTENING.

Five out of Five, the best game in the series yet. All other Silent Hill Fans, heads up, Silent Hil 4: The Room is coming out very soon as well.

Great Secuel

A comeback to the old silent hill we all love a story that answer a lot of questions from the first silent hill.
Sequel to the first game and lightly related to silent hill 2, excellent dark atmosphere and deep story.
Has some replay value but the game wont last too much, but if you are fan of the first or second game, this is a worth purchase to complete the series, the 4th silent hill its not related to the main story so I suggest to skip it and wait for the silent hill 5 for the ps3.

This installment in the series is absolutely frightening! I haven't been this freaked out since the first time I played the first game. It is also much more difficult then the previous games, so get ready for repeating a lot of areas, because you will die fairly often. The weapons are pretty fun, especially the katana. The story, as usual, is incredibly confusing and vague. Of course, that's part of the mystique of these games. For any fan of the survival horror genre, I wholly recommend this game.

I love this game ,its worth buying and to start a collection of the most scariest games ever. It will keep you glued to your seat and believe me you will get a chill, I love it

This is a great game. its completly 3d and has amazing graphics for a ps2 game. Camparing this to Resident evil 0, i liked the characters more is RE 0. i became more attached with them. The reason RE 0 has such good graphics is becuase the screens are not moving, they are picture perfect. They dont move, some items move but the screen is the same. In SH 3 the camera follows the char. This makes the game more challeging and scary. I like that the game is always dark. It lets you use your flash light to find what ur doing. the lighting effects are as good as they were in fatal frame, if not better. This game has alot more action then the resident evil 0 and is alot more challenging. but i like resident evil a tad better because i like the characters and the creatures such as zombies. There are many creatures in this game. Its scary, fun and exciting. the cutscenes are scary, the graphics are made in such gloomy way that u feel like u acutally there with your character, in hell. this is a fantastic game, and remember to get a guide with it, it sure does require one.

Silent Hill 3 is a very entertaining romp through the nightmarish world of the town of Silent Hill. The main character is different from all other survival horror characters in that she has a personality and a brain. She avoids doing the dumb things that other characters in these games perform like Jumping down Holes or heading deeper into evil places even though your goal is to escape.
Another plus for the scare factor is that Heather has a very short height and is not a kung-fu commando super agent that runs along walls yelling about good vs. evil.
She's also kind of ugly as are most young girls. She's not the stereotypical big boobed sexy bombshell with the perfect slutty alfit and infinte skills to lay the smackdown on the filthiest freaks of the night.
She is just a young ugly girl with a "dark past" who happens to be the target of sinister forces that even the S.T.A.R.S Team members cound'nt handle. Clarie Redfield would run out of ammo, pull out her useless knife and choose to jump down into a bottomless pit. Leon would fall in love with one of the zombie nurses and Chris would stare down a broken elevator for eternity after realizing that there are no parts to get it running again.
Forget boring Resident Evil and its forgettable weak enemies and bosses.
Silent Hill 3 is true survival Horror. Playing as an ugly weakling with no combat skills and an attitude is way better than playing as a bland action hero in a predictible plot where the story ends on a flying vehicle as a "secret base" explodes from a self destruct system. Silent Hill is the best. Konami is already making Silent Hill 4 and Capcom should end all future Resident Evil games because they all will end with explosions and no progress against a certain "corporation".
