ok ok. VERY VERY scary. fantastic graphics. greatest gameplay ever. and the coolest story. i think this game is perfect. buy it now!!!!!!!!!! long game. not boring, i know this hasnt come out yet but i played a special demo

I believe that the Silent hill games of the past were awesome and lived up to there name. Silent hill 3 is just the same. I was able to test out the game for reasons of my own business and i came to this conclusion.The grafics are great and it still gives off an errie vibe that will make the faint hearted sleep with the lamp on for a couple of nights, but the story is kinda iffy. Some chick gets lost going shopping and msyteriusly (spellling i know) winds up in a creep town in another dimention. I dont know about u but if u want a good horror game this is ur bag, but rent it first and see if u like the story line.Even thought this will still be a game on my shelf as soon as it is publicily released.
If the rating above says 1 star its cause my computer is messed up.

Needless to say, this is one of my most anticipated games in 2003. The beginning of SH3 isn't Silent Hill according to the director. It's a completely different town at first. But they said 'Since its Silent Hill, I guess its safe to say there will be a connection to the town.".

Now my speculation on it? The town you start out in is actually Silent Hill. The difference is that its not actually 'formed' yet. If you remember back to SH1, Silent Hill really got created when Allesa wouldn't agree to the demands of Dahlia and the member of her cult to do the ritual that rises Samael. So to get back at her they locked her in a room and set in on fire. The result was that half the town burned down, and that created Silent Hill. So what I think is that Heather is Allesas mum. You start playing as her and the game goes on a longer time period than the previous SH games till the point that Allesa is born. So we basically get to see what started SH from the beginning. The woman we've seen in the trailers, Claudia (she's the real white woman), is a younger version of Dahlia.

SH3 seems like it's really going to start showing some answers to the series, and the entire plot should be very interesting.
The visulas have also been vastly improved from SH2, and the monster design is extremely wicked. Suffice it to say, if you thought SH2 was scary, then SH3 will downright frighten you. Can't wait for this one.

Why review a game thats not released yet!

Some people are complaining & giving this game bad remarks based on the screenshots! It's not even out yet and people are putting it down! The ONLY reason why I reviewed this game is to balance out the negative remarks and to give the game a fair shot when it IS released!

I got Silent Hill 2 so that I could prepare for new Resident Evil games, but somewhere along the way it became my favorite horror game surpassing Resident Evil by far. At the time, I had no idea that Resident Evil would end up being a Nintendo franchise. Resident Evil still holds it's own in the terror department, no franchise is as tense as Resident Evil, and no franchise makes you jump as much.

Silent Hill 2 was an experience like no other in gaming, no game had ever involved me so personally and deeply. The ending was just jaw dropping, as it all suddenly made sense and left me totally disturbed and depressed for a while. Silent Hill 3 might end up being the scariest of the franchise. In an interview I read, one of the main developers said that in the past the development crew had often been fustrated because they were forced to hold back on some of their scariest stuff, but that it would be different this time.

STOP REVIEWING GAMES BEFORE THEY COME OUT!!!

I gave it one star because all silent hill games that came out before deserved one star, and people are giving this game a good hype before it even comes out. (like they did with part 2, which was extremely boring by the way)

SH games are not intended for dumb people

people too dumb or too stupid to understand this games are giving it bad credit maybe it was too hard for them or maybe it was too disturbing and scare them anyway both SH & SH2 where great games so here are my STARS to balance it

That guy up there doesnt know what hes talking about, Silent Hill is one of my favorite series, and i STILL cant get enough of silent hill 2, i sold my copy to get the greatest hits version of it, so i could play through some extras it has, and if this games anything like the others, it will be a 5 all the way!!!

I have played and completed both the silent hill's and I adore them. The atmosphere and the stories in both make them unique as far as I am concerned. As for the monsters they truly are innovitive and very disturbing. My partner never really plays computer games (too busy he says) has completed these games too get all the possible endings and like myself cannot wait for the realese of the third one. even if it is only half as good it will still be better than almost every other game out there. Buy Silent hill 1 and 2 you will not regret it and buy 3 as soon as it is realesed I know myself and many of my friends will.
