Unfortunately this is the BEST and WORST game to date on the 360 Console. BY FAR the best game to date to reach the 360 and PS3 market, with the best online gameplay since Halo 2. I make the comment that it is also the worst because it has now set our standard SO HIGH that every game I put in to compare it to falls WAY short due to our new raised expectations which since the release of this game have been set to heights not yet seen in the gaming industry, with online gaming in my opinion surpassing those even of Halo 2. Parents, this is a war game with killing, not real graphic however the online gaming should not really be for children as most of us play and sound rough as per the "M" rating. Anyway, in my opinion, this is a great game and is causing problems for video game manufacturers to reach this level and no one is coming close. The online part of this game which makes it so interested for all of us keeps things interested with a great ranking system, challenges, etc and keeps us playing. Way to go Activision; you hit a home run!

Today games are focused for online play. The hype for this game was saying that its comparible to GOW or HALO 3 online play. NOT EVEN CLOSE, the multiplayer aspect of this game is poorly done. The game itself was ok...very repetitive. The story is good, everything else is just plain. Graphics...awesome, but the game itself...just boring really.

I have played this game for way, way too much time and am about ready to toss it in the garbage. Graphics are superb, story is ok for local play. But let's face it, we buy this game to go online and play against real people, not a computer program. Here's where the problem lies.
Infinity Ward/Activision (I'm not sure how they work together) run the servers and software that set up the games. There are signiv=ficant issues with latency. Latency is the time lag, or gap, between different players. It has to do with each players physical distance to the servers, and possibly what type of connections on the internet. For example, Player A walks around a corner, sees Player B, raises his weapon and begins to fire. But because PLayer A has 2 seconds of latency more than Player B, Player B turns, sees Player A, raises his weapon and kills Play A. Player A clearly shot Player B, but when the KillCam (instant replay from your opponents view) is shown, it appears that Player A never raised his weapon.
Infinity Ward has a website with player forums, and in spite of the fact that they have moderators, players by the hundreds, if not thousands, can get no response to the latency issue from the authors of this game. This latency issue has turned the game into a cartoonish, Ratchet and Clank shoot the hell out of everything game.
If Infinity Ward doesn't attend to this problem, and there are other issues, I won't by anything from Activision again.

I have to say this is one of the best story line war games out there. usually the stories of games like this are cheesy and dumb but this one gets you going and exited.

Una vez empiezas a jugarlo no dejas de asombrarte a medida que vas avanzando, el gameplay es excelente, los gráficos superan cualquier versión anterior, el sonido, la historia, se te hace envolvente... Ahora el gran tema es el replayvalue... una vez terminas el juego dificilmente querras jugarlo de nuevo, no por lo menos en modo individual. Si deverdad deseas conocer las virtudes de este título tienes que conectarlo al xbox live, se convierte en un nonestop gaming; los mapas, los rangos que debes alcanzar según retos que te asignan, los unlocks que obtienes una vez alcanzas los rangos, las armas, las por lo menos 20 maneras de jugar en equipo, definitivamente hay mucho material online, altamente recomendable si puedes jugarlo de esta manera, si no espera a que te lo presten o alquilalo.

Call od Duty 4: Modern Warfare is a pretty good game.the online play is fun and challenging if you are going for ranking. It has a good campaign.There are two parts to the campaign,the SAS part(the British) and the USMC part(the American). You are playing each side of the campaign after you finish a mission on a side. The only thing I don't understand is this game is an american made game. During the American campaign,your United States Marine Corp character dies during a nuclear explosion.That happens about less than half way through the game. You never hear anything bout th marine never play as an american again.for the rest of the game, you are the British, and the british defeat the bad guy over a short but dagged out british campaign and then the game ends. I have also noticed that the political majority of online players in this game is Republican, you can figure out why by just playing the game.
If you have Xbox live,and have not bought Call of Duty 4 yet,wait untill the game of the year edition comes out in early april. The game of the year edition will come with a token for downlaoding four new online maps for the game for free. The maps will cost about $10.00 from the Xbox dashboard if you choose to purchase and download the maps with a credit card. Overall, this is a great game.

Remarkable free-form game that allows you to jump into any of a multiple of scenarios for any one operation.
You can play a completely different game for the same operation simply by landing by parachute somewhere else on the visible area on the computer screen.
One minus I would possibly give is that they don't allow the shooter to go into the prone position. When you're getting shot at, the tendency is to get your body as close to the ground as you can.
Another is that when you think you have your own guys covering your back, you suddenly find yourself getting shot by the enemy coming at you from a direction you thought your guys were covering.
All-in-all, this game is the best by far. I'll be looking forward to their next release.

COD4 sets the bar. I have always thought the COD games have been fun and entertaining, but not spectacular. COD4 changes everything. Crank up the surround sound, kick back and enjoy one of the best games on the console.

What is the big deal about photorealism? Soon all games will look alike. I'll take an atmospheric game any day over this. COD4 holds nothing over Half-life, Bioshock, Halo 1,2,3, Far Cry Instincts, Fear, The Darkness, Gears of War. Just my opinion, but those who are looking for a really cool mind bending ride would do well to look elsewhere. I've reached the conclusion that COD games and games like Rainbow Six vegas simply don't offer those qualities, although Vegas is a little more in that direction. These games are great for a large portion of the population, but for those who are looking for games with a dark twisted side as I always am, don't be a sucker for the hype surrounding COD4. You WILL be disappointed. This review is in no way to be considered an objective evaluation, no review is. I just don't like seeing COD being compared with other games that are WAY different, and in my opinion, WAY better.
COD 4 is very action packed it is a good for at least improving on shooting ability. Furthermore if you are tired of some of the truly outstanding games we've been flooded with recently, COD4 is a nice change of pace. Rigid, linear, boring plot, with a spectacular new look.
