Best FPS for XBOX 360 so far. I've recommended this game to all my friends. More fun than Halo 3!

This game is either as good or better than Halo 3. I actually switched from playing H3 to this and haven't gone back yet! Buy this game! Ten times better than the other Call Of Duties.

A solid FPS shooter

A highly rated game in almost all aspects, this game is for any people
out there with a love for first person shooters. Fast-paced and will keep you on the edge of your seat through the whole ride. The problem is, the ride is short. I would recommend it to people with x-box live/PSN because the multiplayer is almost perfect and will keep you happy.

Single Player: This game is based in modern times, so, if you are bored of all the stupid WWII games, then you will like the setting of the game. Like many, many people have said before me, this game is intense and action packed. The story puts you in a few characters shoes and gives you the task of helping to end a terrosist organization. Some of the moments in the campaign will make you be like "Holy crap, that was awesome." The major downside to the campaign is the length. I almost guarentee you will want more after you finish the six hour single player. But, whats better: A boring, long game or an intense short one. You decide.

Graphics: The graphics are stunning and help add on to the game. Although not as impressive as say, Crysis, this game will most definitely satisfy your graphical appetite.

Multiplayer: The multiplayer is my personal favorite. From the ability to call in helicopters, to the last stand mode that puts you in a near death situation and gives you a last chance to kill your enemy. Although it does have some annoying parts, (darn grenade launchers I'm looking at you) overall it has almost perfect gameplay in this aspect. The level system is really pretty cool and its awesome to be able to unlock different guns. If you want a good multiplayer game, your looking at it right now.

Sound: The sound is accurate and can be pretty cool if the volume is turned up loud, but make sure the neighbors dont think your shooting a gun. =)

Overall, I think you should get the game, but I have seen people that are severely disappointed with it so make sure its the type of game that YOU want to play.

This is one of the first games to credibly blur the line between reality and fantasy in the world of first person shooters. The situations are so intense, the characters so gritty, you can't help but get lost in the game. It is a truly immersive experience where you feel the grit of the sand, the mud under your boots and smell the cordite in the air. The maps may have one way through, but the complexity of each op makes them truly challenging, with multilayered threats constantly presenting a more engaging level of complexity to the experience. Hard core shooters will love the variety of weapons, locales and mission profiles, and the fact that the actors have snappy dialogue that is spot on for the mission. The only drawback is that eventually you will have to stop to eat.

Gritty and Engaging--better than Halo in every way.

I begrudgingly enjoy Halo 3--my friends love it and so I love playing it with them. Despite this, I've always felt that it's controls were too floaty and that the primary means of defeating your opponent was to jump repeatedly like a crazed maniac(instead of running, an ability master chief's suit must restrict) as you attempt to shoot your opponent fifteen times before he does you. The Halo story in general isn't good, either; every time Master Chief speaks I wish I could mute him like I can the little twerps online shouting racial epithets. Call of Duty 4 is the antithesis of Halo on these points. It's controls are very tight (aim-and-shoot is rewarded over shoot-from-the-hip), and multiplayer is varied and fast-paced. Despite being a faceless military soldier, your company in Call of Duty 4 are endearing and add to the adequately involved storyline.

Absolutely Perfect--except for what you're gonna hear online (PARENTS PAY ATTENTION)

COD4 hits all the right notes except for one: what you end up having to listen to in the online multiplayer. I'm guessing that this a problem with a lot of online shooters--but parents, if you are buying this for your kids, be aware that the level of foul and inappropriate language (extreme racism, cursing, bullying) is rather staggering. People will happily spend hours casting racial insults and quite literally screaming epithets into their mic.

However, there is a mute function available through Xbox Live that has helped keep me sane while playing what I consider the best game perhaps in a couple of years. First, the single player mode is fantastic--graphics, story line, action--COD4 has it all. Then you get to the multiplayer mode--which in terms of it's gameplay, variety and graphics is simply off the charts.

I've already spent way to many hours playing this game and am likely to continue to the point where my girlfriend is probably going to kill either me or my 360. Maybe both. It's still worth it.

Great for one, terrific online

Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare Call of Duty 4 is a great first person shooter that follows a relative plot of modern age guerrilla warfare. The graphics engine is great and the characters well defined -there is one 'coincidental' descendant from Call of Duty 3 which gives some continuity to the franchise-. However the game becomes truly addictive when played online if suscribed to Xbox Live. First time players online will find a bit hard to move forward as weapons and enhancements -based on rank and skill- provides you with new arsenal. A better online experience however would be to have more choices of maps to play as the online maps -or missions- can become too repetitive. Nonetheless a terrific online game.

No Brainer

This is the best game I've played in a long time. The multiplayer is the best out there right now; I could play hours on end especially with my friends. You can't go wrong with this purchase and through amazon it was delivered within the week.
