A pretty darn good game!
The style is awesome and while I don't like, actually "despise", rockstars other titles. This one is definitely cool.
The controls are awkward for the first few minutes but once you get the feel for it, it proves very intuitive.
I could complain about a few things, like the silliness of some bad guys and enemies. Some are way too corny and, well, truly ridiculous for my taste. But overlooking them, the game is good.
I also think character interaction sucked! It was the worst part of the game. Talking to people in the game is virtually pointless and very painful. The dialog is lame and it could have been done way better. I can't understand why the developers would leave this portion of the game in such a foul state. A real disappointment. However, the cut scenes and short animation sequences are very well done. The concept of the game is great and I found the music and background noises very entertaining!
the gameplay was good, the graphics are pretty nice, great scenery. The game features a nice buying scheme which was good, although they implemented a journal documenting your progress with item buying system integrated. And the buying of new journal pages, it's not fun at all and left me wanting something better. Would have been nice if you could sell, but you can't. Overall I liked the game and had fun playing it, which is why I bought it.
Could the game have been better? Of course. Was it good, definitely! Worth buying? Absolutely!

Nothing great, but still worth playing. Wish I hadn't bought it, cause I forget that I have it sometimes. Replay value is non-existent.
A good game, Very Challenging!!

If you wanna get your money's worth, I would recommend Red Dead Revolver. The graphics are something most gamers complain about, Which I could really care less about graphics. I buy a game for enjoyment not the graphic design! This game will sharpen your skills, includes moments with dueling sequences, (probably the most toughest part in the game.) The boss fights are challenging too. If most of you reading this review have played & finished Red Dead Revolver like I have, you might agree the last level was probably the toughest, When you duel with Govenor Griffon. But,I do offer a few secrets to defeat Govenor Griffon, if those of you haven't finished this game yet. Before the mission begins, select the WIDOWMAKER pistol. Then when you engage Griffon in the short boss fight, keep shooting at his head, this'll take his health down alot. Then when alot of his health runs out, the game will then go into a final dueling stage with him. You gotta be quick! After he utters his final words, keep the left analog stick held down, then quickly snap the right analog stick back to draw the pistol. Shoot at his leg first, then one shot to the chest should take him down! You might find better ways to do this, but this strategy worked for me. It only took me 2 tries to beat him! So If you wanna take on the challenge, Load up your pistol & Shoot the varmints!!

While I enjoyed playing RDR in one-player mode (but like everyone else said, the levels are short and uninvolved), I found multi-player mode to be exceptional. As far as I'm concerned, beating the game in single-player is just a means to getting more "showdown" characters and levels.
I loved the levels, the number of "power-ups" and guns, and the variety of characters; it made this as fun a party game as Goldeneye or Super Smash Bros.
Great game

There isn't very many modern western shooters out there. This game does deliver on the game playability. Some of the levels are rather difficult and require several replays, however just like the gta series, it's just as much fun the second time around. Good for the $.

I had played Red Dead Revolver at a friend's house before and it was the most fun game ever. I worked as hard as I could to get it until I did. It was really good at first and was for several months, but in the end it got tiring. Here are the good and the bad.
The bad
You hardly start of with anyone in Showdown mode, only about six players.
It's really hard to unlock everyone, it will take you several weeks.
Showdown mode gets really boring after about six matches.
You don't know exactly what you unlock when you buy items.
Some levels are almost impossible e.g General Diego level, Mine level.
The good
Story mode is fun
Bounty hunter mode
Creative difficulty levels
Really fun Red Wood Revolver mode(worth unlocking)
You can unlock people by playing Showdown mode
Weapons
Dueling(really fun)
Dueling in Showdown mode
A lot of different Showdown characters.
Different special abilities in Showdown
Slo Mo Deadeye
Big Showdown areas
Gatling guns in Showdown mode.
Overall this game was good, but don't play it too much or it will get boring. Story Mode is definately way more fun than Showdown Mode(which is only good because it's multiplayer). I suggest you buy it, if it's a reasonable price.
Another winner from rockstar

Years ago, when I saw the coming soon posters for this game, I passed, because of Rockstar's rep in the Grand Theft Auto genre. I didn't want to patronize a company exploiting the desperate parts of inner city life.
Then I found out Red Dead Revolver had an authentic (okay lifted) spaghetti western soundtrack. That was the dealmaker for me. If you like the music of the films, get it get it get! The dwarves are just gravy to the story and the music.
