MAXIMO!!!!!!!!!!!

This is a wonderful game. If you like 3D platform type games you need to pick this one up. It takes you back to the days of Ghost and Goblins. The controls and gameplay are wonderful. It might take a little ghetting used to , especially if you are used to Metal Gear Solid 2 and Grand Theft Auto but once you do you will have a lot of fun. MAXIMO!!!!

I am actually writing this review only because of the awful reviews I just had the definite displeasure of reading when purchasing another copy of Maximo as mine was broken accidentally. I beg to differ with most of the reviews. Maximo is by far the best adventure game I have ever played. Any real gamer would know how to manoeuver jumps and use the L1, 2 and R1, 2 buttons to get proper camera angles and know how to double jump which is actually quite easy. All part of the great adventure is capturing of 50 lost souls to earn 1 death coin for additional game play when all lives are lost and collecting of coins make game time slower but important for purchase of necessary powers to beat this game. Remember! Kill all enemies, they hold important weapons and uncover or gain keys to unlock all locked chests. This makes the game even more interesting. I have to strongly agree with the editorial review that Maximo offers an excellent 15 to 20 hours of platform goodness. I strongly recommend this purchase, I guarantee that truly experienced gamers will not be disappointed. I write this review with the expert knowledge of part owning an Arcade/selling of games and sytems business. Maximo is our top 3 player game closely behind James Bond. It defintely goes up a notch from Jak and Daxter, which is interesting but not challenging enough. The only criticism I have is that yes, the bosses are a bit too easy to beat and although the worlds are slightly different and skill is more important as you progress through the game, they are too similar artistically. The camera angles work fine, the enemies can be beaten with the right use of strategy and the game is an overrall steal. I do recommend that the strategy gudie be purchased along with the game by less experienced gamers. This guide will dispute all bad reviews of this wornderful game.

PLEASE PURCHASE!!!!!

I don't know why it says it comes out tha 15th cuz I found it at blockbuster. This game is tight. It has a different kind of life system where the more armor you lose the more vulnerable you are. You can learn more abilities as you play it by cuttin up some badguys. Im gonna buy this game when I see it in the stores.

... Yes it is hard and saving after levels becomes challenging, but that is what differentiates it from the games that allow you to start over and over and over. The death coins needed to continue give this game the challenging edge many others lack. A word of advice; play the boneyard levels and get use to enemies attacking from all directions, practice timing your jumps, and DO NOT pass any coins or spirits. Once your comfortable, then start saving. If not, you'll find yourself like I did at the second level not able to continue because death coins are hard to accumulate and the more you continue, the more coins you'll have to pay. Once you have the hang of it you'll love it. This game is great for those of us who want immediate fun out of games.

I became totally addicted to this game and beat it with about 90% completion (without any cheats or guide books), so it is possible.

The graphics and sound on this game are unmatched! Not buying this game would be very unfortunate.

I picked up this game assuming that it would provide at least a littile bit of fun for me. What I found instead was frustration and regret for wasting $... on it. I graphics are pretty good, but that is about the only place Mazimo shines. The dificulty level is so extreamly frustrating that even doing something as simple as saving the game will have you pulling your eyebrows out. The gameplay is plain and simple, not fun. I played it for hours hoping I would start to enjoy it. It never happened though. Hopefully I can still return it. So if you enjoy wasting money and you hate yourself, this is the game for you!

maximo... to save or not to save?

What a let down.

Your gaming skills will be tested here for your health is easily depleated and you have to pay to save your game (100 koins). The graphics are very detailed and bright. The music is even good, but that is where the game goes south. Horrible camera angles = certain death. Unfortunately, the camera creates enough of a problem playing this game that it really does take away about 50% of the enjoyment and you end up just getting a little too frustrated. But you REALLY want to like this game because everything else is very nice.
