Fascinating - Better than Model Railroading

When I first saw the promos for this "game" I became hooked. When it arrived, I installed it immediately (I had some trouble with my video driver) and started the introduction. I was immediately caught up with sitting in the cockpit of a diesel locomotive. I have only begun to go through the tutorials, but this game promises to provide hours and hours of great entertainment. The realism is uncanny as you wind through the countryside, pulling into towns, servicing your train. Great job!

A Game that will start another chapter for Microsoft

Train Simulator is a great game.The graphics are breathtaking and very detailed and the game has a lot of activities to get you started and a editor for you to create you're own activities This game has plenty of settings so you can change the realism or gameplay of you're Train Driving Experience.I don't regret ever buying this game here at Amazon and it you're a Flight or Driver Simulator fan you won't be dissapointed with this game.

Is this game for everyone? NO. If your not interested in Trains then I would avoid this title. BUT, if you do like Trains then I would run, not walk, to the store and pickup MS Train Simulator (or buy from Amazon, since your already here). The 3d rendering is exceptional, with very few artifacts; the engines are modeled perfectly; the operations are fun and challenging; and the signaling system is second to none. I admit I like the diesel freight opeartions over the other activities, but there is something for all train lovers. This title has been a long time coming and was well worth the wait.

If you or anyone you know is a fan of trains-either watching them, photographing them, video taping them or riding on them, then this video simulator is for you. You can either watch the train that you are controlling from the sidelines or be in the cab of the train handling the controls of it. There are several different trains in this simulation along with several different weathers conditions to work with. This simulator is fantastic.

I now know what women must go through when their husbands are lost to football(I am a basketball fan myself). My spouse has become so involved in this game, he searches out train routes that I've never even heard of. Now he often spends hours building and driving trains. While I never realized he would respond this way to Train Simulator, I am happy that he has another thing that brings him joy in his life besides me. You believe that, right?

If you love trains like me you'll love this game. But I most
admitt you'll need a very very good pc to make the best of it.

Now I would love to drive a real train but feel this is too much like being a passanger. Nice graphics BUT I dont want to sit there for six hours watching it go by.

The quality of the graphics of MSTS is quite impressive. The train's are highly detailed and move very smoothly.

The gameplay is repetitive and boring after a while. There are times when there is nothing to do but to watch the repetitive scenery go by. Granted, I have not tried the Activities included in the game, but I'm not expecting much.

The biggest surprise turned out to be a technical one: The game disk is not needed to run the game, which is very unusual, especially when all other Microsoft games I've used required that the disk to be in the computer.
