I rented this game on the recommendation of a Blockbuster employee. I was blown away! The fighting was in real time and very smooth. The graphics were crisp and fun. The puzzles were challenging, yet not too difficult for younger members of the family. This game opened my eyes to the venue of console RPGs. Since none of the characters actually die in this game, they just fade out when beaten, it is a good game to play as a family. The Disney characters are great for the kids or the kid in all of us. And the many hidden bosses and treasures will bring many addictive hours to the older players. I highly recommend this game to anyone who likes RPG, Adventure, or Puzzle console games.
Stellar Game for FF and Disney lovers alike!

The new hit game Kingdom Hearts for the PlayStation 2 combines the great characters of Final Fantasy VII, VIII and X with Disney Favorites!
Many gamers will be unsure about this game at first. Disney characters? You mean little Mickeys and Minnies in a game? Really, give it a chance. The game can be played by those under 10, but it's captivating for teenagers and adults too!
First, the graphics are just AMAZING. The characters are all amazingly rendered. From Donald Duck to Goofy with their curves, to Tidus and Wakka from FFX and Selphie from FFVIII and more. There are different textures in each world, from the Jungle planet of Tarzan to the rooms and gardens of Alice in Wonderland, to the Coliseum of Olympus. They're all lovingly rendered in gameplay, and the cutscenes are gorgeous.
Next, plot and gameplay. The 'heartless' have come to attack the various worlds, and you must investigate to figure out what is going on. There are many quests on each planet, all quite fun and logical. There are other cross-world quests, such as finding all 99 Dalmatian puppies or tracking down missing pages in a journal.
Your main character, "Sora", can be with Donald, Goofy, Tarzan, and other characters during these quests. In addition, he learns the ability to get help from other characters, such as Dumbo the Elephant. There is a lot of puzzle solving, but also a lot of combat as you fight off the shadow creatures.
You get to choose your character type in the beginning - warrior, guardian or mystic. You also get to shape your personality by answering three questions about what you treasure in life, what you fear, and what you hope for. You level up as you go along, getting more strength and more skills.
There are normal and hard settings, so you can set it to normal for the kids in the house and set it to hard for those looking for more of a challenge. There are a lot of witty references in the game that adults will be sure to love, and the younger ones will be happy seeing goofy and pluto protecting the land from the enemy.
Final Fantasy players have always loved the romance that weaves through the FF series, and Kingdom Hearts provides that as well. Sora is in love with Kairi, and she is lost at the beginning of the game. So part of his quest is to find her and protect her. The scenes of him sitting on the dock by the ocean talking with her, as the sun sets slowly, are simply beautiful.
Highly, highly recommended for any gamer of any age!

This is the best RPG to release on playstation 2 in quite a long time. The score is great, the graphics are wondeful, and the cast is perfect. It even haves the Anchient Aries from Final Fantasy 7(thought to be dead). If you love Final Fantasy or Disney, wether adult or child, pick up this game. I bought it because I love squaressoft and Final Fantasy, but there is lot more to this game.

In my opinion, I think anyone with a liking to action games or rpg's will like this because its both combined. You get many Disney characters in your party and you battle all the time. The story line is great and the cinemas aren't too long except the beginning. The bosses get cooler and dark as you get to the end, but I'm not gonna spoil it ;). So just get this game its really really worth it you won't be dissapointed!

If you like Disney and Square, this is the game for you. Even if you only like one of the two, you might love this game nonetheless. The battle system is cool and keeps you on your toes. The characters are all extremely amusing and well put together. And the graphics are the best out there so far. The camera can be slightly nnoying sometimes, but only in a couple of places. And seeing 13 year old Titus from FFX amuses me to no end.

This was the perfect game for me because it brought back memories of all of the Disney movies I saw as a kid. This was my first offical RPG game and to tell you the truth it has turned me on to many other games in it's genre.
Story(10/10):Sora and his friends Cairi and Rikku are having fun on their island and planning on seeing other worlds and traveling. The night before their departure their island is taken over by the 'Heartless', creatures that have lost their hearts and feel nothing and aren't happy. Some how Cairi and Rikku get seperated from Sora and Sora is on a mission to find his two best friends and get back to his town. He comes across Goofy and Donald Duck who have also gone on a quest to find their master Mickey Mouse. Goofy and Donald reveal to Sora that he is the Key Holder and that he has to defeat all of the heartless and their Master(Ansem) to return home and so that the worlds can go back to the way that they use to be. All Sora wants to do is to find happiness again and to be with his friends.
Graphics(10/10):These graphics are outstanding. You have to remember that this is the a Square Enix game so it is very cinematic and colorful. By looking at it many people will think that you are playing a kiddy game...but I promise you that looks can be decieving. Square Enix did a fantasic job of developing the worlds that are in many Disney movies such as Tarzan(Deep Jungle), Alice in Wonderland(Wonderland), Little Mermaid(Alantica) and many others.
Controls(8/10): The controls are a little tricky in this game. The one problem is the camera angles. To put it simply they are horrible. You control your own camera angles but there are a million times when you cannot see anything because the camera won't move anymore. But I guess after awhile it becomes easier to handle. But other than that the main button that you use is X and that is to attack.
So I suggest that you all should go to your local gamestore or wherever you buy games and pick this one up. Especially if you like Disney movies and RPG's such as Final Fantasy. There are many characters in this game from Final Fantasy games such as Cloud(ff7), Sephorith(ff7), yuffie(ff7), leon(ff), areis(ff7),and wakka(ffx). No one should feel that they have to be an expert RPG player because this game will help you get use to the genre. This is a classic game that will bring back memories of some of the Disney characters and movies you love such as Tarzan, Ariel, Peter Pan, Pinnochio, Hercules, Aladdin, and many others. This won't let you down,
Perfect!

First thing I have to say about it is that this game has the most unique opening ever. It was the coolest thing! I restarted the game twice, to see it again. It was like a music video.
The game itself is the hardest thing ever. Why? Because its real time battle system - things attack you from everywhere all at ones and don't just stay there waiting for you to react (unlike FFantasy), and in some cases you have to jump and climb things like in a regular adventure games. But overall: if your stuck - the game stinks, when you complete stuff - you feel so proud of yourself and really excited to do more - the usual :)
Its very interactive, by answering different questions and picking different items - you set a course of the game and the strengths and weaknesses of your character. So be careful of what you say and do. (at the begining at least)
The graphics are great! they dumped a lot of money into it. And not just the CGI ones but the regular gameplay graphics were great.
Camera angles.......hm........this is the most complained about thing in any review that you gonna find for this game. Its all great, but at some points it spins out of control and you can't see what you're doing anymore - not a good thing. I think they did it on purpose - makes the game twice as hard. The only good thing is they have a "first person" option, where you can see the way your character sees things. (you cant walk like that though, but you can turn around, look up and so on)
The voices are great! Children sound like children and disney characters like disney characters (dah, they were done by original disney voice cast)
Can't say anything more - I just started playing it, I do know that it also has more than one ending. And I want to add that if you are a fan of Chrono Cross (thats what this game reminded me of) - definitely pick up this game!
