I Want My Money Back...

Good lord what a waste of money. Like most media these days, GT4 focuses on fancy graphics that look cool today but will be outdated tomorrow instead of little thinks like fun, control, or innovation. Some of the features like B-spec and the photo mode are just plain lame. The physiscs and AI seem to have gotten worse somehow, and the controls are not as good as GT3 (the controls almost remind me of the first GT back in the mid 90's, its that bad, seriously). I think that the controls were optimized for use with the steering wheel from Logitech, meaning that you need to blow another $125 dolars on this $50 paperweight of a game. Also, the music seems to be worse than that of GT3 (who the hell wants to listen to James Brown in a videogame) and the menu music sounds like bad musak from a supermarket. The sound effects are terrible too, again reminding me of the quality of the PlayStation days of yore in the 90's. The car selection is full of pointless nostalgia and the models of the cars don't look that much better then the previous GT3. The tracks do look better, but they're very "look at me, I'm so cool looking, I'm an awful drive, but I look good". The 3-D crowds and pit crew are neat, but the novelty wears thin halfway through your first run. Long story short, don't buy this unless you have lots of money to blow and all you care about is graphics. Otherwise, stick to GT3. Never in all my years would I have imagined a GT sequel that was worse than its predecessors.

Unfortunately, according to ign.com this game will now be released on July 1. Way to push things back and make us have to wait. It had better be excellent.

what the hell?

I demo'd this game. Much better than the first! About as close to reality as it can get.

Anyone want a helping of really bad physics?

I liked GT3 AND loved! GT2, so let me begin by saying this game does not measure up...

The sad part is that there are a ton of cars, including used cars and really neat historical cars but that is not enough to save this game. My problem with this game is that driving cars is too darn hard, I cant even corner going 60 in a super car most of the time!

What else is wrong? NO F1 CARS!! I really dont know how they avoided putting them in this game. It was too tough to drive with cheap cars and the same was true for super cars, just stick with gt3 and save yourself the headache

I absolutly love the Grand Turismo series of games. They are wonderful in their graphical content and realism compared to actual driving physics. I just have one problem, every time I check the sony web site the release date for the game keeps being changed. first Oct. 11, then November 25, and now March 2005? Why? If the game is finished sell it already. It also makes me wonder why the date is being pushed up. Does the game contain too many bugs to bring to market or is this some marketing scheme from the big guys in charge of sony? Please just release the game already!!!

Best Racing Game Ever!

This game looks spectacular! I have seen all the screenshots and trailers that I could find. It was amazing! Believe me, this game will be the most realistic and fun racing sim there ever will be(unless another Gran Turismo, Midnight Club, Need for Speed that's better than Gran Turismo 4 comes out). It has over 500 cars and the graphics are better than ever. So far my favorite racing game was Midnight Club 2, but I have this feeling that Gran Turismo 4 will be as two times as better. The Gran Turismos has always been good so why not Gran Turismo 4? I hope they didn't mess this game up when it comes out in January. I also can't wait for Need for Speed Underground.

No other game like it!!!!!!!!!!!!

WOW what can I say just wow. so many cars including new cars not even on the streets yet(06 eclipse,Bmw 330i). Graphics great and the whole game is amazing . But it will take you a little bit to pick a good car for the first time B/c theres so many.

Worth the wait!

I always wondered when the next GT game would come out after GT3, which I absolutely loved.

I didn't know the exact day of release, but I saw the game on the shelves at Gamestop when I went to the mall. I haven't been playing games lately, but I was just tempted to buy it (along with GT3, which I lost when I moved a couple years back). I made a wise choice, for this game is a sheer enjoyment for me, and is overall a fun way to spend your time.

Though it isn't much different from GT3, I do not think that faulters it's quality. I mean, lots of games in a series are similar. The Grand Theft Auto games sell rapidly, yet they are all similar in many ways. I am not saying similarities in games and their predecessors is a bad thing, I'm just saying it is common in a lot of games, and is pretty much inescapable.

So if you are a fan of the first 3 GT games, you will most likely enjoy this. The simulations in cars and race tracks is more realistic, so it is more harder to get used to the controls.

Overall a great, thrilling game. Definitely one of the more better, enjoyable racing simulators.
