After playing several missions on the X-Box version and then hearing a PC version was planned, I eagerly awaited the PC release. All the claims of being enhanced for PC were nothing but false marketing hype.

First of all, the graphics look blurry and washed out. The wall textures are ugly and it looks like you are playing the X-Box version through a dirty, blurry monitor.

It seems Bungie dumped the entire code onto the PC without any tweaks whatsover, save the fact you can now use a keyboard/mouse and save whenever you want. And no, new vehicles, maps and weapons aren't "tweaks", they are features. Good features, but it doesn't make up for Bungie's lazy attitude in what we got with the PC version.

The framerate is absolutely awful. Unreal 2 runs faster than PC Halo, at a higher framerate and detail. No effort went into PC performance tweaking. And console to PC tweaking can be done, just look at Grand Theft Auto: Vice City if you don't believe me.

Next bad feature is that the controls, although now you can run them with a mouse and keyboard, are nasty, unresponsive and in slow motion. Bungie seems too incompetent to realise that just because it should be that way with an X-Box controller, it shouldn't be with a mouse and keyboard for the PC. The input timings NEED to be changed, the aiming constantly over-rolls.

Lastly, no PC co-op mode and no way to play online with X-Box Halo owners. Two extremely pathetic points. I've lost all respect for Bungie after this. Don't buy this game on PC, Bungie could have made it brilliant if they had of put a fair bit of effort into making a polished PC version, but they didn't, they just dumped a heap of code onto a PC hard-drive.

Half Life-esque

This game doesn't deserve all of this negative feedback. It is excellent!!! Somebody was complaining about the patches and all of that? I seem to remember there were patches coming out all of the time for Half Life. As far as the graphics they are excellent! It may take some tweaking, but they are great. Also, look at updating your video card drivers. Great game!

It's a great game, but needs a BEEFY system to run smoothly!

I love Halo. Ever since it was released on hte X-box, I couldn't get enough of it. The graphics are supurb, the story is worth wind, and the 1st person action is unmatched in some areas.

Now that it is on the PC, it comes with what every Halo fan wanted... ONLINE PLAY! I love being able to snipe peopel and run them down with the Warthog! Also, to but an attack pattern to work and totally out flank an opposing team is sweet! Also, the untouched first person mission campaign is worth the 40 bucks alone.

My only gripe... IT RUNS SO SLOWLY ON A SYSTEM WITH A WEAK GRAPHICS CARD! When I first booted it up, I was running a 3 gig Pentium 4 with a Geforce FX 5200. Sure it's not the best graphics card, but it runs games like No One Lives Forever 2 on it like there is no tomorrow. In fact, Unreal Tournament 2003 runs like a beast on it at 1280 X 720! Come on! How fast of a graphics card do ya need to play this game? Even though I didn't want to do it, I just upgraded my graphics card to an ATI Radeon 9800. Is it over kill? Maybe, but because games like Half Life 2 and Doom 3 are coming down the pipeline, I was gunna have to do it eventaully. Sufficed to say, I just spent $400 on that puppy, and that may be pushing it for some people's bank accounts. My advice, pick up a Radeon 9600 or an Nvidia FX 5600 for those who don't have as much money to burn. With all that, this is an expensive investment. Trust me, Halo is worth it. It ranks up there with all time great games like Half Life, Perfect Dark, No One Lives Forever 2, and Goldeneye.

First off, my computer is three years old. It was a reasonably high end computer in its day as well. But this release is also three years old, so it *should* run fine.

It doesn't. It crashes often. Unless I turn all the graphics way down it runs verry slowly. In contrast, Unreal Tournament 2004 with its flashy graphics and sound runs fine on my computer.

The level design isn't great, but the enemy AI is worse. Sometimes you can shoot a line of baddies one at a time with a sniper rifle and they won't budge.

Stay away from MicroSoft if you can.

I have played this game since it came out. What I like most about it is the multiplayer online. The graphics are better than xbox but it does get laggy on some servers online. It has new weapons such as the Fuel rod cannon and the flame thrower. The levels got on my nerves but I found my way over it.Overall it is the best FPS since Quake and Half-Life.

I love this game!!

Not as good as Xbox

First and foremost, this is not a direct port from the Xbox version. It has 2 new weapons and a new vehicle. The new weapons are the fuel rod gun which is basically a covenant rocket launcher with arcing projectile and more ammo. The other gun is the flamethrower which as it's name suggest, is scorching. The new vehicle is a rocket launching warthog. It shoots 2 or 3 rockets and has to reload. It is a good balancer for online play. In addition to the new warthog, you now can use the banshee in multiplayer play. It even is the fuel rod projectile from campaign mode. That's all the things added to the game.

The major flaw of the game is that it seems slowed down. You don't seem as into the game because it seems slower. Not by that much but, too me, noticeable. Another flaw is that you can only play single player in campaign. Most people may not care but I have 2 pc controllers and would like to have seen that in the game. It just doesn't feel the same especially if thats the only way you have played. Other than that its the same ol Halo we have learned to love.

good game

this is a amazing game but if u r a parent and ur kid does not swear much he will read plenty of it in the online part of the game. so if ur kid already does and u don't mind much violence then this game is 4 u.

Buy The Xbox Version!

I think the PC Version of Halo sucks man because if this version is going to be online play then I guess you might have to pay fees when you are playing this game on the Computer, Then I guess I'm going to say no to this game then!
