I'm sure Halo was "all that" several years ago but compared to newer games like Battlefield 1942, it looks dated and plays clunky. I'm really sorry I wasted my money on this one. It should have been priced at $9.95 rather than at the full price for a new game. My advice, save you money for Half-life 2.

Not compatable with video card on my Sony VAIO

HALO was not compatable with the video card on my Sony Vaio; and this is the only software that I have had this problem with.

Don't waste your money on it.

They have you on a go-cart track. You have to do a certain thing, go a certain way. The game has very good graphics. The game is a lot like Call Of Duty. You would be better off buying Battle Field 2.

Halo for the PC

Having played both Halo and Halo 2 on the X-Box there are details that were left out of the PC version that made me appreciate the greatness of those games all the more. Lack of Coop play was the biggest and in playing singleplayer the quality of the animations was definitely wanting.

But then there is the excellent Halo multiplayer fan base that has created so many mods under the CE version that can be downloaded for free and provide hours of frustration while they collectively kick my butt! Combine that with the reasonable price and I think I can say this is definitly an excellent introduction to the world of Halo.

PS: If you are reading this and haven't played Halo or Halo 2 on the X-box - you now feel the compulsion to go do this - go now and do my bidding ... muhahahaaaaaa.

Biggest disappointment ever!

Geez what a let down. I wondered why the price fell so quickly from 50.00 a year ago to 17.99. Now I see why. This game is garbage. It can't even run on highend computers and yet i can run half-Life 2 with the highest graphic details. I thought this game was suppose to be revolutionary? It reminds me of playing 1993's doom. The monsters are a joke. I agree that this game is linear and almost for little kids. PLus their little help tips is just as annoying as that cute lil microsoft paperclip in office. Why all the hype? Are people this gullable or is Microsoft hiring people to make this piece of garbage look good? I played this a few times and I gave online a chance and that was a joke too. I'm sending this back to Microsoft to get refund of my money. Once again Microsoft drops the ball.

Halo is awesome! I enjoy it just about as much as Medal Of Honor, "which is another great game." This game has millions of cool things about it, but I will just mention a few.

First, the gameplay. This game will have you hooked until you can't stop because of the great story, voice acting, and gameplay.

Second, the graphics. These graphics are top of the line, state of the art. The texture is amazing.

Third, the music. Halo features an exceptional soundtrack, it mixes Techno, Orchestral, Rock, and Snynthetic (naturish), all together for a well rounded experience.

This is awesome, really.

Medal of Honor is better than Halo

I finished playing Halo. Not the greatest of games. I just started playing Medal of Honor, Breakthrough add-on. This game rocks! Medal of Honor is way better than Halo. Not to mention I can crank up the video settings and have it run excellent. On Halo, I have it turned down and it still runs choppy. And the minimum requirements are a 733? Go buy Medal of Honor.

Very overrated game

This game has a ridiculous amount of fanbase, which is why I can't figure out? Halo is not the greatest FPS ever people! Sure, some of the gameplay is great but their are a lot of flaws in this game. here's some:

1. For cheaters (like myself), there is NO Console cheats. for those who don't know what this is, you have a menu come down from the screen and it tells what you have reached in the game, but you can type in words that are cheats, like for instance "GOD" as in god mode. I was really mad at this because.....

2. this game is tough. there aren't a lot of med packs and recharging your shield sure likes to take it's sweet time.

3. You only can carry 2 weapons! I understand that this game is trying to be realistic in a real world sense (you can't expect to carry a shotgun, a handgun, hand grenades, a bazooka, a rifle and so forth with you as that would carry a lot of weight around), but this is a game and in games you can be as unrealistic or realistic as you can be, but there's even a limit of both, which is why Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell sucked balls, because it was way too realistic for a spy game and in Metal gear you can be seen and fight back but in that game you can't.

4. Driving. Driving sequences are tough and very pointless. I always fall over cliffs or whatever and die.

So overall, this game may have some great things to it but it's not really worth spending 20 or higher dollars on.
