Halo is a terrific first person shooter. I played through the whole game. The alien technology and creatures were totally convincing and the flights were captivating. The last mission that is getting out in the truck kicks [...]. The Flood and the Covenant are so ugly you love shooting them to pieces. The concept of a halo in space is perfectly rendered in the game.

So, you liked Halo. But, have you ever think what inspired the ring world of Halo? Well, Halo's world was inspired based on a famous Larry Niven sci fi book, "Ring World". If you liked this game I recomend you to read this book, it is the best of the best. I am sure it will blow your mind.

Just Like the X-Box (actually, better)

The game play is just like that of the X-Box as I've played both many times, but I enjoy the PC version more as it is more customizeable and I have the choice of a keyboard control or using a XBox controller (which works great - see ebay). I'm not a hard core PC gamer, but if you're looking for a fun, first-person action game - this one rocks. (Yes, the technology might be a bit outdated - but a classic game is a classic for a reason).

I LOVE this game! The storyline is wonderful! I guess if you feel bored with the campaign, just go looking for easter eggs! But what I LOVE is playing multiplayer! And someone did bash the multiplayer, but there are TONS of rooms that will kick you out for cussing and/or killing your teammates! I've had this game for years, and I never get tired of playing online! Actually...it's kind of addicting...

Long awaited PC version quashed?

Halo, yes, I've read the reviews, and I've also just recieved the game myself. I have heard that it "lags" on some computers even though they have accelerated video cards. This is probably because of the game's intense graphics, your video card also may have special functions not fit for Halo's gameplay. The game itself, is spectacular. It has a nebulous storyline, one that is so mysterious and hazy, that you'll be lusting for more of its out-of-this-world plot (literally). The intensely delineated environs of Halo, are as vast as this world itself. The action of this game is tense, from raging through Halo on a "Warthog" to kickin' some ass with the Marines. It has realistic speech from both sides, sometimes the Marines ramble on about the most hilarious stuff, and the Covenant yelp with shock as bullets rain upon them. The Covenant, however are not stupid. They have a very prodigious AI system. Covenant Elites even scream out battle commands, and the Grunts listen to them (in Heroic or Legendary). They sometimes even try to flank you with enemies! The most enjoyable part of this game is its immensely detail saturated plot. Halo is about a super-soldier, one so strong it alone could mean the survival or annihalation of the human race. This soldier is called a Spartan. The Spartan we are talking about is the only one remaining. This Spartan is the Masterchief. The story starts out as Masterchief aboard the spacecraft, The Pillar of Autumn. The Pillar of Autumn is being attacked by Covenant forces (the enemy), and has to be abandoned. After abandoning the Pillar of Autumn, the escape pods landed on the nearest planet, HALO. And the epic journey begins as Masterchief crashes into Halo, and begins his epic journey through the unwarded mists of Halo.

I am a big fan of first person shooters, such as Medal of Honor, half-life, and halo. In an attempt to convert halo from XBox to PC Gearbox and Bungie came together to create one of the best games of all time. Halo has a great storyline and the variety of weapons and levels in the game is unbelieveable. This game is certainly a buyer.

see other people tell you its not that cool. but that is becuase they had it for x-box if you havent had it for x-box than you will absolutly love this game the other people put bad spins on the game like there are people who love to betray you , and the simple thing is you betray them back! it is a great game and your hands and mind just melt into the controlls the first second the covenet take up arms against you.if you listen to people who say that this is a bad game then well they can have fun with all the other 2nd rate games out there but if you want a first rate first class game get halo today! itll be the best use of any money youv ever used on a pc game.

The excellent FPS comes from Xbox to PC. Let's get straight into things. Graphics look VERY good, but only if you have a good graphics cards (unlike mine). Sound is top-notch, and controls are very good. The 1P Campaign has a great story, but the real fun is in Multiplayer. Frag your friends online in massive death matches. Lots of game settings, and you can even make your own. I highly reccomend Halo for anyone with a decent computer.

Halo is maybe the best FPS game ever, Halo revolved the FPS genre, this is the first game were you can hit your enemies with your gun, this action was copied by many others such as Golden Eye: Rougue Agent, this is the first FPS were you can control cars and aircraft (copied by Time Spiltters3: Future perfect), maybe the multi player mode is not so fun, but the history mode is just soo good, if you are a FPS fan such as myself,YOU MUST BUY IT. Check the second one.
