Without a doubt, one of the absolute best games ever made. The physics, graphics, gameplay and characters are all vastly superior to 99% of the action games out there. As in the first Half Life, you assume the role of Gordon Freeman, (right where the first game left off.) Unlike the first game, this game looks like it game from the future... It's like playing through REAL enviroments. It's bright and colorful like Halo, but at times deeply textured and dark like Resident Evil 4. Basically, these graphics ARE the best I've ever seen... ever. As far as controls, they are completely slick, leaving nothing to be desired.
BUY THIS!
Unique and cutting-edge for its time, but buggy

Half-Life 2 in the single player mode was way too short. The number of weapons was limited, and I had been spoiled by other FPS's to have at least a semi-automatic sniper rifle and a sub-machinegun or carbine that could hit the broadside of a barn. The HK MP-7 SMG was pathetic in this game. The accuracy was mediocre and the damage was extremely limited. In terms of gameplay, HL2 gets 5/5 from me. However, it kept crashing every so often on my gaming rig to the point that I stopped playing the game for over a month until I just wanted to get it off my desk.
I do not like Steam and it appears that it has never even asked for my DVD. The first time I installed the game, it decided to just download the entire game off Steam even though I had a nice shiny DVD in the drive.
Overall, the game gets 3/5 from me for some bugs, unimaginative arsenal (except for the gravity gun, which is extremely fun), and Steam.
Best Game ever!

This is an older game, but the combination of graphics the fun factor and the dept of the universe has yet to be surpassed. It is widely accepted to be the best computer or video game ever made. If you have a good computer and a good internet connection once the engrossing game is finished the wide variety of mods and deathmatch options have me playing this game even 3 years after its release. Not to be missed!!! I am extremelly surprised that this juggernaut of an artistic achievement doesn't have 5 stars.
Amazing graphics, Excellent for multiplayer game.

Half-Life 2 is a quantum leap from its predecessors. It has all the elements of the Half-Life online universe game. The added multiplayer functionality, combined with really amazing graphics and advanced AI could bring you to greater heights of enjoyment.
It is menacingly addictive and exciting!
Play the game and you will never be the same.

This game is one of the best things to hit the half-life series. With ramped up graphics and a solid story half-life packs twice the punch this time around. SPOILER!!!!. in this game you don't go to black mesa (although you can go back in Half-life:Source which uses the great graphics and plays through the story again.) but instead you go to a certain City 17 which is run by a "alien" race called the combine where you are on a train after the g-man put you in a stasis after the end of the original. From there you are then through security to find Barney the security guard from the original also. From the beggining you are immersed in the story and you will be on the edge of your seat. This game can even run on lower end machines with great graphics still.
A classic.

Half Life 2 is the greatest game you will ever play. Plain and Simple. The graphics are incredible even though the game is two years old. To get the best out of it though you will need a good graphics card. Though adverage computers will run it with ood framerate, though you will have to turn down down some settings. The weapons are good also. The gravity gun is the coolest weapon from any first prson shooter. Alot of people complain about Steam, which is Valves online service. The people complaining, probably have dial up. Well thats why its slow for them.
pros: graphics
gravity gun
plot
um...best game ever
cons: nothing
Actions
