This game is absolutely incredible! Its almost like you're participating in a movie, a super freaky post apocalyptic science fiction movie.

I encountered NO installation problems and anybody who did was either not following the instructions or their system is simply NOT big enough to support the game.

This is by far one of the best PC games ever created and anybody who complains about violence in games should NOT play games to begin with.

hailed as possibly the greatest game ever, HL2 lives up to great standards. people bitch and moan about steam, but its probably because they are retarded. Steam is just the engine that games like Day of Defeat, Team Fortress Classic, and Counter-Strike run on. ITS NOT HARD TO USE AT ALL. Also you get Counter-Strike with your purchase of HL2. Some fun times online. Amazing graphics and ground-breaking physics. BUY NOW.

This game is just plain fun!!!! Even on my slow computer with a geforce 4 mx I was able to have the immersing experience that the guys at Valve intended on showing a year ago. Top to bottom this game blows everything out of the water so to speak. The watercraft level being the 1st level to really explore what the half life 2 source game engine has to offer is incredibly thought out and well designed.I could go on about the physics and artificial intelligence but by now you should know both elements are executed flawlessly. It shows that these guys REALLY wanted the player to be plunged into the world that is half life. Each level having multiple parts and better themes as it reaches its climax is an exhilirating amount of hours strategizing and gawking at its sheer madness.The weapon selection is as you would expect similar to the 1st one in every way except for a few addons
( gravity gun, MP7, laser guided rpg etc.) .The gameplay/gunplay is well balanced and at the same time challenging in more ways than one (on hard). Having lived near Redmond for 10 years I can be proud to say that some locals created the best 1st person shooter/PC game to ever be installed on any computer. Its easily game of the year in my oppinion and will set the standard for future released 1st person shooter titles . [Coming close in 2nd Halo 2 , 3rd Doom 3, 4th Call of Duty.]

side note: the installation and steam registering went very smoothly no complaints regarding any technical problems.

I liked half life 2 except for that stupid steam thing that took forever. The games graphics are amazing and the game is fun my favorite level is we dont go to raven holm the zombie infested town is really fun when you use the gravity gun!!But I beat the game in only 4 days without cheating. But thats because I stayed up nights and days playing it. The end of the game is real easy with the blue gravity gun wich picks anything up. Half life 1 was a little better but half life 2 never stops moving and there are vehicles that are really fun to play. So I realy like this game and i recomend it!!!

Half-Life 2 brings computer games into the world of high art. I have always preferred RPG's to FPS' because I lose interest if I do not care about the enemies/friends in the game or if the story is not compelling.

Half-Life 2 is the truest experience of living in a game world and game reality that I have experienced since Plancescape: Torment. Add to that how incredibly fun it is, how beautiful it is on my mid-range system, how intelligent the puzzles are, how precisely the sound effects and music are used, and you have a game of which I am in awe.

This is the best FPS ever. It is also the best video game ever, on any platform.

I,as many other gamers, had been in huge anticipation for half life two, i did not download the source leak, because i would rather not download something that was stolen, AND i didn't want to have tid-bits of the storyline revealed to me. So i picked up this game the first day it came out and went through the instilation process and downloaded "The dreaded steam" (which really isn't bad). When i tried to play the game it was horribly glitchy so i ran outside and rode 5 miles to my grandma's house and she graciously let me install it there, now she has a Pentium 4 3.2 or .4 GHZ i can't rememberand 512 MBs of ram. It worked amazingly well, the environments are great and very interactive, which you can tell with the gravity gun, you can rip letters of display signs at movie theaters, cans of paint and more. The Vehicles are also very well done as well, they handle nicely and very realisticly. The physics are also finominal. Which basicly means a letter of a sign can be thrown farther and harder than a dumpster. And last, but not least, the graphics. Wow, your allies look near perfect, but i believe noone compares to The G-man, he looks real, and i am not joking by this statement. My only Concern was the voice stududududududering. Its only happened 3 times, and that was when i forgot to close MSN Messenger in the background. So in X-play style. Half Life 2 Gets a 5........out of 5.

This game rocks have had it some time now and still enjoy getting on the multiplayer and mixing it up. I have many PC games setting on the self collecting dust but this is not one of them. It is better than the way they hyped it, I can see why so many players are on the multiplayer all the time. Buy it and ENJOY.

Para los compañeros de habla hispana le comentó que el juego tiene la opción de elegir el idioma español con todos los textos y covenrsaciones habladas en español. Traté de jugar CounterStrike -la versión que viene como extra- en español pero se congeló todas las veces que traté. Half Life ya no lo intenté en la versión en español. Es posible que exista un bug en la conversión a Source en español.
El juego es entretenido, y a veces se torna comlicado, hay unas partes que tienes que casi adivinar para encontrar las salidas o la forma de salir. Es un reto.
Vale lo que cueta.
Sin embargo, la edición del coleccionista es muy parca, no se justifica.
En general recomiendo el juego si no tienen objeción en esperar el registro, la descarga de archivos complementarios y la validación y decodificación del juego antes de poder jugarlo. Me llevó casí cuatro horas con modem de 56 Kb. Después de eso no hubo problemas, salvo en la versión en español que mencioné anteriormente.

When i got this game i was thinking it was an average first person shooter with some additions. But when i started the first level i was amzazed at how cool it was and fun, from then on i played the game nonstop every day it was so enticing. I dont no why amazon gave it anything less than 5 stars this game. This game mixes just plain shoot'em gameplay with puzzle solving. for example at one point in the game you come across a gate. There is no lever or switch, so you have to look around for a way to open. you find a elevator in the ground. So then you have to find things and put them inside the elevator to weigh it down to open the gate. I thought this was so cool because you had to look around for items to put in, its not like some little guy in your head says "Look an elevator, why dont we put the heavy box in it!" You do it yourself!
