Half-Life 2 makes you feel like you are actually in this futuristic, strange world turned upside-down by a totalitarian regime. The environment is so complete, and the effect so chilling and mesmerizing at times that you can easily get lost in the action. Come heavily armed to this one because you'll need the extra hardware to survive.

It's just the beginning...

Let me say something about the game and I mean just the game. It's cool. It's awesome. With its physics and graphic and all.

I know that that Steam Process takes a long time and even very, very long time for many people. It depends on internet connection speed, isnt't it?

Anyway, if those who blame on Steam cannot think... Let me tell you something about the future, yeah, future of softwares and computer games.

Every games will require online registration sooner or later.
This Steam software and its process should give you some idea of how software companies will try every way to protect their softwares from piracy!

Yeah, I really believe so.

Oh, I agree with C. Kochenower that "don't review the game without actually playing it first".

Its got to be-e-e-e-e-e-e...PERFECT

First of all, the install process does seem incredibly amateurish and took me about 45 mins. I didn't encounter any problems, but I can see why other gamers get pissed off when the setup fails. Especially considering the fact that this is most likely the best computer game ever made.

The second to none graphic detail - the fantastic audio sequences - the fabulous variation of levels - the engaging gameplay. Trust me, this game has it all.

Runs smoothly on my mediocre Dell (unlike Far Cry, which seems far more demanding on specs.)

After years of painstaking work and mishaps, I congratulate the people at Valve for a job well done and thanks for many hours of great entertainment.

The new half life requires an internet activation. Now dont panic, it's not that big of a deal. the makers of the game just dont want anybody using illegal copies. When you activate the game, a steam file will be sent to the makers saying that the half life is not fake. Then you can play your game without needing to use the internet again. Obviously you have internet, but warn the people who dont have internet that they are wasting their money since they cant make that single internet connection. The internet dosent have to be high speed or anything special eather. I totaly recomend this game and dont ever let the single internet activation change your mind.

Possibly the best game on any platform, PC or otherwise...

Half-Life 2 is hands down the best game I have played to date. I don't know where to begin with this game. I recently played Halo 2 and I'm sorry to say that it was actually a disappointment, especially in comparison to this game. This game isn't actually a game, but more like a ride that you control. The environments are breathtaking. I love this game. I really want to give it 7 stars but am limited to the 5. Get this game NOW!!!!

Good Game, Cheep Package

I like the game, but for the price they could have done better with the package and a manual. I mean come on guys you slave drive you developer and then you cut corners on the packaging.

They put the serial number on one of those cd-rom sleaves (which I will probably loose) and gave you a quick reference card. If you liked the manual that came with windows XP..., well don't even expect that.

Good game anyway. Haven't tried out online play yet. I hope it doesn't suck like doom 3.

GREAT!

GREAT GAME, BUT RATHER SHORT! IF YOU ARE A HALF-LIFE FAN YOU WILL LOVE THIS GAME. PREPARE FOR A CLIFFHANGER ENDING THOUGH.

Good Game, but...

HL2 is perhaps one of the most overhyped games of the year (aside from doom 3). It isn't a bad game, but it isn't bar raising or genre shattering, it just uses the elements from the original HL and sticks with them. In short, HL2 plays it safe. And that works for the most part, as the gameplay itself is immersive and breathtaking. Character design and voice acting are superb, of top notch quality. The only downside is the ending, if it can be called that at all. It was extremely anti-climatic, and it let me down some. When you're able to take down a Strider with just two shots from the Uber-weapon you get in the Citadel, as opposed to multiple rockets and a lot of running on the streets prior to the Citadel, it just makes you throw your hands up in disgust. Also, the ending left something to be desired, such as closure, of which there was a considerable lack of. I guess we'll just have to wait another five plus years to fiugre it all out...

BEST GAME EVER
