When I first played MYST I was enthralled by the graphics and enjoyed the game so much that I went into mild depression when I finished it :) But even MYST doesn't hold a candle to RIVEN. Just walking around and looking and listening is entertaining! Everything looks and sounds so realistic that it's utterly fascinating. And it's challenging enough to anybody stuck to their computer with the sound up for great periods of time. I love it!

This game was most likely the best I have ever played. The graphics were absolutely wonderful, the play control was good, the puzzles were challenging, and the storyline, so often forgotten in games, was interesting to the moment you leave Riven. This is the game for anyone who has ever wanted to immerse themselves in a new world, full of intrigue, examination, challenge, vast distances, an immense beauty.

This game has beautiful graphics, but might be a bit hard for those who dont have the smarts for puzzles. After beating MYST, i think that i am ready for riven. It is a beautiful island, and it seems so real.

I thought Myst was great but Riven is even better. I saved it until I was on vacation and it's a good thing I did because I was unable to think of anything else for several days. Hooked is an understatement. Both my husband and I were totally absorbed in this world. I've been waiting over a year for another one like it .... sequel to Riven? PLEASE!

Riven is the best game. If I were a genius, I would love it, but average old me thinks it is too hard to beat without the walkthrough, so I got it. The game is a must-buy, but it is too difficult if you don't plan on playing for years and still having only a small chance of winning.

Riven is just a amazing game!! My friend has the game and I saw it and going to order it from Amazon. It is a great game that you dont want to miss out on. It has the best graphics I have ever seen and the plot is great! The game is challenging but fun at the same time. And its at a great price. you just have to get it!!!!

If you love puzzles and mystery--play this game!

This is an excellent game--more of an interactive story, really. If you prefer lots of action and violence, this game is DEFINATELY not for you. There's nobody trying to kill you and nobody to blow up. If puzzles and mystery are your thing, and you prefer brains over brawn, you should love Riven! Attention to detail are amazing and Robyn Miller's music is beautiful. (It's a good thing CDs don't wear out, or my Myst soundtrack would be long gone!) My only complaint is that it was too short! I didn't want it to end, which I cannot say about any other game I've played in this genre (except Myst!). Even if they don't create any more games in the Myst/Riven setting, I hope Cyan keeps creating games like them.

This game has one of the most amazing storylines ever. It follows the story of Atrus. He asks you to capture his evil father, Gehn, who has imprisoned Atrus' wife, Catherine. You must also rescue Catherine from her cell. This might not seem like a great storyline, but once you get deep into the game, the plot will thicken, and much more will be revealed to you. Another great feature in this game is the graphics. They are the most realistic graphics ever. The textures in the game are unbelievable. The puzzles in this game, unlike like what other people say, are completely logical. If you just use your brain, then you will get somewhere in the game. Highly recommended.

Riven is, simply, the sequel to Myst. This means that days of gameplay, challenging puzzles and superb graphics are expected. Riven does not let us down. From the very start of the game you are plunged into a deep and well thought-out history. From then on, you are on the rollercoaster known as Riven. Any attempt to leave your computer is futile. You are lost in a trance, and all you can hear is Riven. If you do buy Riven (and who wouldn't ?), don't plan to do much in the next few days.

Probably one of the most anticipated games since it's predecessor, Myst, was released, and well it should be. This game features extraordinary 3d art, and along with the puzzles and challenges that await you, it is definitley well worth purchasing. However..If you are impatient, this game is not worth the fifty bucks, for it requires paying hours and hours of close attention, and note taking. But the funny thing is..that still isn't enough. Have fun.
