The Good, The Bad, ....

Okay, for starters, the games Rocks. Really. It does. The First level alone is enough to keep people hooked for hours. The music is great. With about 10 different radio stations, all with high quality sound, the sound department is a five star. Not to mention the sound effects, the planes, trains and automoblies. You can hear all of it. The controls? Easy. No hidden combos needed to complete the game, no button mashing, thum killing parts. Its all good. But theres the bad. Its really narrow. I mean, in the missions, you don't get a choice. You do THIS mission or you dont do a mission. Last of all, another reason ... The planes at the airport are limited. The only plane you can fly has had its wings clipped. There is a full winged version...

The best game ever

When you play this game you wont stop playing it you can do what ever you wont. Unlike other games when you are buy a stor you can go in side it. Also on other games when you try to run some one over they guest run rite throw stuff so you cant hit them but on thus game you can run them rite over and then get out and start kicking them.

please, you're blood is staining my suit.

GTA 3...Fun for the whole family!

Well, maybe not, but definitely fun for those who can appreciate some good, ficticious violence. It's not really even that bloody anyhow. Great game. The most fun is just cruising around Liberty City and jackin rival gang members cars. I still have to learn how to pull them out of the car and cap em, to put em down. However, I think one of the most unique features that really separates GTA 3 from other games like "Driver" and the like is the use of the radio. Some of the things they say on the Chatterbox station will have you rolling. My favorite station is by far the MP3 player. It's a blast cruisin' around on a mission listening to some good heavy tunes (Mudvayne, Soil, Dry Kill Logic, etc.), getting you ready for the strike. By far one of the most fun games to play in a while. My only other recommendation right now would be Global Operations, for those of you into FPS like me. Thanks...enjoy and buy the damn game.

Grand Theft Auto 3: Must get if you have a good system.

i just got Grand theft auto 3 about 4 hours ago. So i am not very far, but far enough to tell you how great this game is. This game is a must buy for MATURE people. There is alot of swearing and and violence, so if you dont like violence, don't buy it. Oh and buy they way, this game runs great on my system at 800x600x16 (never tried any higher). System specs are:
Intel Celeron 1.3 GHZ
384 Megs sdram
Vortex sound card
32 meg Geforce 2 mx400 card (yes thats right Geforce 2 mx400)
40 gig hard drive 7200 rpm
16X dvd drive
and who carez about the rest.

A lot of people had alot of problems with the Geforce 2 mx400 but i have none. And i even have a [bad] celeron instead of a pentium.

I would recommened at least 800 mhz 16 meg card and 128 megs of ram to run this game half descent

Rocks

There's alot of good points to say about this game, that I don't know where to start. The graphics and sound are second to none. Gameplay is good, you never know what to expect. And most importantly, it's fun ... Only thing is, you need a high(er) performance PC to get the whole experience. On my 1.2 T-bird 512 RAM GeForce 2 MX 200, It doesn't run so well, but on a GeForce 3 it runs great, so I would upgrade my card if you have anything less than a GeForce 2 Ultra or so. Great game, very fun, all you could want in a crime game.

Faithful Port

This game, as advertised, is like the PS2 version, only for PC.
Rockstar has added to and cleaned up GTA 3's graphics for gamers who aren't playing on a TV. As a result, the game requires serious hardware to run. In fact, if you are planning on playing this game on a maching that barely meets the minimum specs, I would reccomend against it. This game chugs occasionally at 800x600x16 on my machine:

P3 800
640MB RAM
32MB Nvidia GeForece 256AGP

That being said, I love this game! The ability to run amock in a fully realised 3d city is downright amazing. Being able to add my own tunes (the standard 'radio' stations get dull after you've heard them repeated 4 or 5 times) is a nice new feature.
The missions, though repetative at times, have a few originals thrown in the mix. Personally, my favorite thing in the game is being able to do "Whoops... Blew up the car again. Better steal a nice new one.. (pause) OOh, that one looks nice"
All in all, GTA 3 on PC is wicked entertainment for the (im)mature gamer in you.
Next month I'll be buying a seriously newer video card, so hopefully that will smooth out some of the graphics issues.

Immersive fun

Yes, it's not for kids. In an age of plaintive "what about the children?" cries, a refreshing game is released for the PC. Don't get hung up on the killing, the hookers and the suggestive cut scenes -- this can actually be nice, pleasant experience. Really. Image cruising down realistic streets in a sporty car, watching the sights and listening to your own MP3s (take that, PS2). Get bored? Take up a short mission or two. Or pick a fight with a rival gang. Or, yes, hook up with a hooker.

Way too demanding on the system

The makers of this game obviously didnt even attempt to optimize it for the average computer. I own a Pentium III 700 Mhz, ATI Rage video card etc. In other words, a computer that was top of the line a year or so ago. I CANNOT RUN THIS GAME ON MY SYSTEM. Way too slow to be playable, and it is hard to believe that you'll be able to play on a 1ghz system either. So either buy a 2ghz computer or play something else instead.

Bad Cartoon

This game reminded me of a bad cartoon. If you have a lot of time and you can figure out how to save your game it might be passable. People have to be prepared for lousy language and I felt the graphics were bad. Other than that I can only say it's like a bad cartoon.
