Sim City 3000 UK/Sim City 3000 Unltd - AWESOME!

I am from the UK, and I have Sim City 3000 UK Edition. However, this is exactly the same as the US version Sim City 3000 Unlimited.
Your task is to build a big and successful city. Sounds simple. But it's harder than you think.
There's toxic plants, rioters, taxes, neighbours and lots of other obstacles.
You have to make decisions that will have equal amounts of "fors" and "againsts."
EG: Parking fines. Some people think that Parking Fines are good to stop road loonys parking in any old spot. Others think that it's just and excuse to get money from citizens.
And the one about Legalising Gambling. Some think it's a bit of fun and just a game. But the snootier ones think it causes crime and your gambling with lives!!!

As mayor, it's your choice. Whether it's raising taxes or building and airports, it's what you want to to do.

NEIGHBOURS: The neighbouring cities (there are four) may ask you for deals. They can take garbage from you or you take garbage from them, and other deals with power and water supplies.
If you take their garbage, you can make money, but you will have to suffer the pollution and extra garbage!

If you buy this game, try it without cheats. If your desperate (I AM!) then try these cheat codes:
(PS: You have to press SHIFT, CTRL, ALT, C at the same time for a box to come up. Then type codes in...)
i am weak - free building of schools, parks, power plants...but you have to pay for demolition!
call cousin vinnie - you get 100,000 simoleans! It will come under Penitioners Issues (I Cannot Spell!) and "Local Fundraising Event"
power to the masses - ALL POWER PLANTS AVAILABLE!

Don't get If you have Windows XP!!!!!!!!

I just purchased the game and I can't get It to install. I went to EA tech support. No help there. I Googled for tech support. Did everything they said to do. Still won't install. Save your money for SimCity 4. I hope that one works. I wish I had known before I bought this.

Unlimited ? Except for system requirements !!

Simcity 3000 unlimited does NOT support Windows 2000, Me, NT.
Someone still running Windows 95 or Windows 98 interested by my copy ? Mr Flintstone, maybe ?

I've never had any other Sim game but I can tell you this game is GREAT! Ever since my friend got a Sim game I wanted one too. On my birthday I was given Sim City 3000 Unlimited. Right after I was done opening my presents I attempted to play it. That is when I learned it is a very high-tech game and you have to read the manual. After learning how to play it I started teaching my friends. I'd have them start with a scenerio then let them build their own city. My friends all liked the fact that they could create their city, and then let alliens abduct it! My cousin loved the fact that everything in the world that could go wrong did in his city (he chose to do that.) I just like the fact I can create my own houses (even though they look horrible!)I also like to see what I don't like in my city and make my Sim City not have that same problem. If you visited my house and then my game house you would see that I like making the surroundings the same. Sim City lets you do that! I'm so happy I got this game and I think you will be too if you get it!

Guys, I have XP and the game runs - it can't be just a coincidence. I know it sounds bad, but it really is somthing with one's machine or the way it is installed.

I just reinstalled the game after some break from it - and I noticed one thing: when the game is 'almost' installed, it opens a program group with an icon - if you close the installation program now it may not run. When the installation stops (but is not completed yet) and you see that program group open, just minimize it, and make sure you click on the installation confirmation msg. Unless you do that, the SIM CITY button will not apear and you will not be able to run it.

I did it on XP, so it must be doable. I may not be right about each and every case of problems on XP, but it is definetely possible to install and play.

A Smash Improvement Over SimCity 2000

I was hesitant in letting my son buy this game since we already have SimCity Classic and SimCity 2000. I thought it was a lot of money for some minor tweaks. Boy was I wrong! SimCity 3000 Unlimited is a major upgrade that really makes SimCity fun to play. The graphics improvements are incredible. I have had no problems with crashes; the game has worked perfectly. I never had any interest in the first two SimCities (my son was the only one who played them) but now we are both jockeying for computer time to play SimCity 3000. I highly recommend it. If you want to try the "Sim" genera then this is the way to go!

Ah.. SimCity...

I love it! SimCity 3000 was a blast, but after losing the cd and being sick of searching for it, I picked up SimCity 3000 Unlmited. I'll never go back! SC3kU really is great. It's a lot like SimCity 2000 with the Urban Renewal Kit, and the Scenario add-on and whatnot. Just lots of fun in this game.

ONE BIG NOTE: This game's disc is VERY FRAGILE. I found mine with a tiny crack just above the ring, thus rendering the disc nearly completely useless. Also, I sent it to EA for a replacement ages ago, and haven't gotten anything back. So keep an eye on this game, and be sure to keep the disc in its jewel case.

I find this game very addictive, and considerably better than 2000. I really like the News Ticker, which gives you great advice on how to run your city. It does take up a lot of memory, though, so it's a good thing my computer has so much. I've heard that it tends to destroy your computer, so if you don't want that to happen, here's my advice: Don't take out the CD until the program is done being exited, don't install it if your computer can't handle it, and when you do take out the CD, be sure to press Ctrl, alt, and Delete and close all tasks that sound anything like "SimCity."

My only complaints are this: it makes your computer run slowly, and when locusts hit your town, the sound effects don't ever go away.

I bought this game yesterday and I have been playing it since it was installed. I found this game to be time consuming, interesting, and fun! Why TO buy this: *Worth the $ *It is almost "unlimited" (make your own buildings, scenarios, etc.) *Runs VERY smoothly (i have an AMD 750mhz Thunderbird processor) *Interface is good *Installation went smoothly *Excellent Manual Why NOT to buy this: *It ALWAYS seems as though someone wants something, it can often be TOO overwhelming *Hard to earn $; I read the manual thoroughly and it took a very long time to earn money, but once I got it really never ran out! (if u budget well)

Overall, I really enjoyed this game and look forward to using it much more in the future. If u live strategy/ simulator games (The Sims, Rollercoaster Tycoon, etc.)this one is for you!

Have 3k But not 3k Unlimited

I have Simcity 3000 but not Simcity 3000 Unlimited. I think the game is great I specially like the graphics. I read others peoples reviews and my game doesn't act slow when you build a big city. I also got convince in the thing that lets you build your own buildings. I think I'm buying the game soon.
