The Best Simulation Game!

5 Rating: 5, Useful: 2 / 5

This is one of the funnest simulation games ever. Now in SC3U you can build unlimited landmarks and three sets of building sets are available. Thirteen scenarios to complete or you can build your own scenarios. Wicked. You can create buldings easier than in SimCity 2000 and there are 4 more new disasters from Simcity 3000. This is a great but for the gamer enthuisiast.

Good game, could have been better.

Sc3k unlimited is a nice game with cartoon like graphics. But the city does not look real and some of the things seem unrealistic. Like during a railroad crossing, the train stops and give way to cars!!! And also if you get reward like fine arts center or universities they don't really affect the city. They are just there to beautify your city. And I never understood the rail system. What is a train box? Seems quite unrealistic. No doubt the game is good but these things had to be looked upon first when releasing the game. And also auras and pollution don't really do much to the game. They hardly play any effect on the game. And the sea should have been made bit more sea like and not just blue color. The bus stops don't really help much at all. Two are enough for a whole city!! And buildings repeat so much that you get tired soon of seen them again and again. And they say that industrial zone and residential zone should not be close. But I made them and no one really bothered about it. Wonder why not. I think these things should be improved on the next version of sim city. I am really looking forward to the next version.

4 stars for win 98, 0 for others

Like other reviewers, I've had problems with this game on both Win 2k and Windows XP. On 2k, the game installs and loads, but stalls on the first screen. On XP, the game installs but does not load.
I originally bought this in China (legally) and thought that this may be the reason. I used to play it on a Windows 98 machine until that machine crashed, and I had to upgrade to 2k, and have not played it since.
I also contacted EA Tech Support who insisted that this game is/was designed for Windows 98. They suggested I run the compatibility wizard but this was a failure.
Why they're still selling this game escapes me. Maybe they've corrected things on later versions though.
If you can get it to run, this really is a fun game. There are plenty of improvements from Sim City 2000 that I enjoyed, especially the more logical traffic and crime patterns, and the huge increase in map size.
All in all though, don't buy this.

Very Addictive!

You'll never leave that rotating computer chair again after you open the SimCity 3000 UNLIMITED package! I have played every Simcity game and loved it because of the new versions that keep being put out and this is another one that has new features such as disasters, scenarios, tyle types, seasons and the Building Architect Tool comes right with it so you can design your own buildings from the smallest park to the Hanging Gardens!

Even better than SC3K

Sim City 3000 Unlimited Edition is way better than the old simcity 3000. It has tons of new buildings and new disasters you can even change the terrain and trees to jungle, mountan and even desert. New scenario's to. Plus you can even make your own buildings and scenario's A word to those without much hard drive space SC3KUL takes 200 MB more than the original.

GREAT GAME

I have to say that this game is one of the best sim games around. It's worth the money, with more scenrios, options, tips, advisors, and much, much, more. Buy it! It is addictive and fun. Trust me!

Being new to the SimCity serie, I have to say that this game is great!! Of course I have heard of the Sims, but I never got a chance to play any of the games in the serie. I can play 3 hours straight without realizing it. The landmarks building (even though they don't do anything to the actual simulation) look great, and I love having the Eiffel Tour, or the Empire State Building in my back yard ;o)

One drawback: my computer has only 96Mb of RAM, and when my city gets bigger and bigger, the game gets slower and slower. That's easily fixable though!!

It would probably be great - if you can figure it out!

I bought Sim City 3000 Unlimited thinking it would be the best game I'd ever played. I can't begin to tell you how wrong I was. The game comes with no manual, and it took me 2 hours just to figure out how to get power to the houses, and even longer to find out how to put in "on ramps" from the roads to highways.

IF you can figure it out, you might actually have some fun. But since there's no manual that even briefly describes the game, doing this might be somewhat of a challenge.

Take my advice - DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY!

(...)this is the worst game I've ever played

I have a lot of PC Games I enjoy: Starcraft, Red Alert 2, and even the Sims is kinda fun. I bought Sim City 3K because everyone praises it so vigorously. I keep hearing how well Sim City 3K is selling, and I read reviews on amazon giving it 5 stars. Unfortunately, after buying the game rather cheap, I was absolutely disgusted by the lack of fun running rampant throughout the whole game. I invested about 10 hours into it, and I couldn't stop my city from going into debt for the life of me. I then used the cheat codes, a common practice I've noticed in Maxis games where you want to progress in under 500 hours. Even with the code I still found myself horribly bored. Do you actually enjoy putting down grids of water pipes for hours? Is spending hours putting powerlines up and connecting them to power stations fun?? What am I missing? Even the 5 whole mass desruction scenes are boring after watching them about twice. This game is like the king without his clothes. Everyone says they love it, but all I see is a naked fat useless game. Unless you're a complete architect loving freak, I don't undertsand why anyone could possibly enjoy this game and not be under the influence of mass narcotics. Where is the fun part? Can anyone tell me!?!? Please?!?!?!?

Do yourself a favor and never buy this game, just download a free minesweeper or solitaire. You'll have so much more fun.

This game is buggy. SimCity 2000 was a better game.

This game has problems crashing. The game is unstable. The user interface is poor in many places. For example, your city can throw a parade for you. It is cute the first time it happens, but the game forces you to wait through the whole parade for several minutes. There is no option to end the parade early. It is difficulty to place certain features in your city.

Read alt.games.simcity.3000 for a week and you'll see that many other people have the same problem.
