Ok I go to wal-mart and buy this product. I bring it home to try it out oh yeah i payed $52 for this game having my hopes up I stick it in and go to play. I look at the screen my heart sank im a big final fantsy gamer but $12 a month thats rediculous. So i go back to wal-mart to give it back and they wont take the thing and now here im stuck with a 50$ game that cost me $12 a month..........

The game looks cool and all but $13 a month!? $13x12+$45+shipping and handling=2 years of my allowence!!! Sure $12.95 doesn't seem like much but when you add it all up the total is unreasonable. I would buy it if I could afford it. (ganiemead- your review was so stupid it wasn't funny clay boy)

The good thing is the characters creations. You can change their faces body type spieces and when u get a new job and armor it show wat ur wearin unlike most FF's Yet that still has it down side. u have to pay $.77 a month for each chara u have. the map is huge which is good. its got a lot of stuff like ff tactics [jobs job abilities]. this game is a combo of fft w/jobs ff9 w/the way the map is and boat/airship things +an online pay. there virtually no lag and the most stable system. i recommend if u get get it for PC. its awsome how u can trade items make alliances and craftin weapons w/ others. the quests and missions are ok some are borin some are good and some not even worth it But $10 a month can be bad if u got a pay n u got no money. you do get a short free trial. if you get the game get the guide it helps a lot more then the manual i give Final Fantasy XI an 8 out of 10
I'm not buying the P.C. version , I'm getting the P.S.2 one!

The P.S.2 Version will be better in everyway to the P.C. version except for one thing......
GRAPHICS!!!!!
You know you do not have to buy this version.
In order to go online with your P.S.2 get the network adapter.(from,where else,Game-Stop!)
Get a Really long phone cord.
A Screw Driver.(actually,no,a quarter.)
open the exspansion pack on the back of the p.s.2 then put the adapter in,screw it with the Quarter,then plug in the phone cord and your done!!
Anyway I'm Hoping that Final FantasyXI will be an auesome game.

Final Fantasy XI is a fun and addictive game. you may chose from five classes:hume, elvaan, tarutaru, mithra, galka.Their are 6 jobs u can chose from and 6 other jobs u can get by doing cetain quests.If u dont want to fight u can always fish, mine, harvest, and/or log. You can chose from 3 nations you want to live in Kingdom of San d'oria, Republic of Bastok, and/or Federation of windurst.Since its a online game there are lots of people on. there are around 20 worlds that u are ramdomly put in.there is a set back though there is a $12.95 fee every month. the game comes with 30 days free. If you dont have a PC dont worry it will be coming out on playstation 2 some time in febuary 2004.

The game is still going on. Its a fun time sink. People get serious about the game, their money, their armor.
What I've found is a lot of ex-con's hang out in this game (not joking). I have no idea what the attraction is. Maybe it is all the crude language, or the ability to con others out of their stuff and sell it to others. Yes, there are college kids playing and a few casual players, but mostly the gamers here and unemployed, unmotivated and predatorial.
You have to go online to play and could play alone online, but to get the most out of what the game offers you need the help of others.
Children should not be allowed to play this game.

Yes the game is a very long one ,but thats whats good about it,whats wrong with a long game?The amount of things that can be done on this game is amazing!truely the best game iv played on ever,i suppose FFX,FF8 + FF7 come close because they have more storyline,however the game doesnt need a storyline with all the people u can talk to.If your a FF fan this is the ultimate game!

This game does require the NVIDIA GeFORCE graphics card, as one review previously mentioned. I assumed that my Intel Extreme Graphics card would suffice. I was WRONG. About $130.00 wrong. My system runs the game perfectly... 2.5G, 760M RAM, 80GB hard drive, with the (NOW) NVIDIA GeFORCE 5200 graphics card w/ 128 M (VRAM).
Make sure your PC (if you run this on a PC) has excellent specifications. Anything less, will not work and for $12.95 per month... I'm sure you'll want to be able to play this game with minimum to no problems.
However, for those of you that have an excellent, powerful, PC... you're in for the ride of your life!!

well, im a final fantasy fan well before this came out but tha tis not the reason i enjoyed this game so much.
first off- graphics are great,
2- hours of fun, that never get boring
this game will not get boring or repedetive.
do not let the bad reviews scare you, the instalation is not that bad.
ive had internet problems with other game and i was worried about this one as well. but! it connects smoothley all the time and lets me enjoy this endlessly interactive game!
buy it!

Had Troublesome installation, but after contacting playonline over the phone the problems were solved. Excellent Gameplay, and the graphics are stellar. Still learning shortcut keys and commands, but its even great before Ive learned everything.
