Yes the game is a very long one ,but thats whats good about it,whats wrong with a long game?The amount of things that can be done on this game is amazing!truely the best game iv played on ever,i suppose FFX,FF8 + FF7 come close because they have more storyline,however the game doesnt need a storyline with all the people u can talk to.If your a FF fan this is the ultimate game!

This game does require the NVIDIA GeFORCE graphics card, as one review previously mentioned. I assumed that my Intel Extreme Graphics card would suffice. I was WRONG. About $130.00 wrong. My system runs the game perfectly... 2.5G, 760M RAM, 80GB hard drive, with the (NOW) NVIDIA GeFORCE 5200 graphics card w/ 128 M (VRAM).

Make sure your PC (if you run this on a PC) has excellent specifications. Anything less, will not work and for $12.95 per month... I'm sure you'll want to be able to play this game with minimum to no problems.

However, for those of you that have an excellent, powerful, PC... you're in for the ride of your life!!

well, im a final fantasy fan well before this came out but tha tis not the reason i enjoyed this game so much.
first off- graphics are great,
2- hours of fun, that never get boring
this game will not get boring or repedetive.
do not let the bad reviews scare you, the instalation is not that bad.
ive had internet problems with other game and i was worried about this one as well. but! it connects smoothley all the time and lets me enjoy this endlessly interactive game!
buy it!

Had Troublesome installation, but after contacting playonline over the phone the problems were solved. Excellent Gameplay, and the graphics are stellar. Still learning shortcut keys and commands, but its even great before Ive learned everything.

Regardless of what some people say this game is great. the only people who complain are those who are impatiant.This is one of the best mmorpgs ive ever played. I've been playing Everquest online adventures since it came out and it is nothing compared to this. This game has a new feel to mmorpgs but also has that familiar feel of any Final Fantasy game made.. The only problem with this game is that the cost per month is almost 15 dollars.One more reason to buy this game is because of the card game Tetramaster the same one that was introduced in Final fantasy 8.I recommend this game to everyone who loves to play games online. this game deserves more than a 5 in my opinion.

This game is awesome. The gameplay is great and there's nothing better then picking what you want to fight. For those of you who don't want to pay to play don't. This game doesnt deserve bad reviews for that. If you hadnt noticed all mmorpg's are pay to play.

Really. This game is dead. Go buy World of Warcraft or EQ2. Even with the latest "expansion pack," the game isn't that fun and doesn't offer a lot of innovation.

I played this for, like, five minutes at my friend's house.
Pretty easy game to figure the controls out on, but it's NOTHING compared to Dark Age of Camelot. =P

Pros and Cons of Final Fantasy XI you should know before deciding

Pros -- Fans of the FF Empire will enjoy a more virtual world, as that of Final Fantasy XI Online. Deep story lines and nice graphics.

Cons -- Gillsellers (RMTs: Real Money Traders) upset the balance of the game's economy making it hard for normal gamers to progress. Poor tech and game support.

Mike, if youre reading this forgive me! LOL!

From lackluster graphics, to poor traveling and transportion methods, to the fact that you HAVE TO HAVE A TON OF GIL (GOLD) to buy items, etc. this game simply sucks!

I highly recommend guild wars, or world of warcraft. All you have to do is see that there are hundres of used copies here for sale at $6 a piece while guild wars and World of warcraft are still selling at $30-$40 used, that kinds says it all.
