Great game, just can not run on some computers

I liked this game--until it started skipping on me after 15 mins or so. I have a fairly decent computer (800 Mhz, Nvidia GeForce 2 card) and for some reason, I can not play this game for too long before it starts skipping. I also don't like how the game has to load the MAIN MENU!! and when I want to exit, it has to load to get out of the program.
If you are planning on buying the game, make sure you have a fast processor and a lot of RAM.

Great game, and NOT SHORT AT ALL!

This game isn't short at all, 22 'episodes' of pure action... wonderufl graphics... very original game... and again not short at all! you all are just looking for a reason for this game to not be perfect, so you're saying that's it's short. it's not, trust me it's not. Wonderful game.

Great fun but...

The graphics of this game are great, bullet time is awesome, but it is far too short. It took me three days to beat. I am not much of a gamer, the most recent game that I beat took me 1 1/2 weeks which was Deus Ex, which I think is better than this. All you have to do in Max Payne is kill everyone, the dreams were getting close to a puzzle but not quite. I like games like Warcraft and EverQuest so I expected this game to be a lot harder. Save yourself the (money) and buy Deus Ex

I PURCHUSE THIS GAME FOR X BOX AND IS JUST WAY DIFFRENT THAN THE PSX2 VERSION 1.THE STORY MODE IS TRASH2.THE CAMERA ANGLES IS FRUSTETED3.MAX PAYNE VOICE IS CHESSY4.SOMETIMES THE GRAPHICS LOOK LIKE A PC GAME ANS PC GAMES ARE TOO SLOW 5.LOTS OF LOADING TIMEMY FRIEND OWNS THE PSX2 VERSION AND ALL OF THIS HAS BEEN CHANGE1.STORY MODE IS WAY BETTER WITH CINEMATIC WIDESCREAN NOT JUST LIKE COMIC BOOK PICTURES.2.CAMERA ANGLES ARE BETTER.3.AND MAX VOICE IS GREAT I THINK IS THE SAME GUY THAT DID THE VOICE FOR METAL GEAR SOLID FOR PS1 THAT MAKES MAX MORE POWERFULL.4GRAPHICS ARE THE BEST THAT HAS.5.NO LOADING TIME ONLY DURING CINEMATIC TIMES SO DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS ONE.IF WANT AWSOME GRAPHICS TO SHOW OFF THE X BOX BUY HALO THAT IS THE BEST GAME X BOX HAS...

I play a lot of games and I must say this one is very good. It has an excellent story line and graphics. You get stuck in the story line as you're playing, but if you're not the type that likes to get stuck in the story and just run around and shoot people, it's awesome for that too. One of the best games I've ever played!

Good game

This is a good game, but gets a little boring at times. I'm glad I played it, but don't expect to go back for a visit ever.

MAX PAYNE is a nice game. The reason my score is missing a star is because of the proluges to each episode which are very spooky and the odd angle everyone holds their weapons at.

THIS is the BEST GAME ON THE PLANET! u will enjoy this game until u die! Although it is played from a third person perspective, i recommend it to all fans of action games, whether first or third person. It is a bit violent, but there is a parental control to tune down the violence. Also, this game is realistic, u can't just sit there taking shot after shot after shot, and all the weapons used in the game are real! One of the coolest things is the fact that u can go John Woo style with 2 guns. This game runz on a Intel 450 mhz w/ 96 megs of ram and a 16 meg video card, but it recommends a 700 mhz w/ 128 megs of ram and a 32 meg video card. This is the best game for those people who liked Half-Life, but want a more realistic game, and are very trigger happy (like me) =).

Interesting but troubled

Well, I love the bullet time, a whole crapload, even if I was VERY rarely forced to use it... The bullet dodge is plenty for most enemies.

Admittedly the enemy AI is kinda... missing, the game as a whole is an extremely enjoyable experiance even so, with a plot that reminds me of a pulp detective story ( first level: the robbers are after some stocks on a table. Something like the third level, you see something on the TV about the same company. Brain goes "kaCHING! that company is the bad guys" well.... guess what! lol )

The graphics are outstanding on my 600mhz Duron, even if they don't really break any new ground. But again, the physics engine is what really makes this game shine... In the first level, you blow a door open, and as the door is flying backwards, everying slooooows down and EVERYTHING goes slower. Wood, metal, glass, flame, EVERYTHING, and remember that this is using the in game engine instead of some cutscene cinima. It really is beautiful, and I hope this technology is used a whole lot more, although in games with more replay value to 'em.

The puzzles in this game, I can't really comment on, because I started Max Payne after beating The Longest Journey, so they just weren't in the same league. They seemed reletively basic though. Reminded me of a cross of Quake1/Tombraider... a bit of switch throwing, a bit of "shoot the little tiny area" and you're there...

All in all, a very enjoyable experiance, with little replay value, but a GREAT hardware test, and I REALLY hope they make a multiplayer patch...
