Its a Bomb!!

This game is great. Every move is action packed.There are no puzzles which makes the game totally and i mean totally cool!!The language is a bit explicit and so are some scenes.But once youre in the groove of the game,there is no way out!!

I'm going to start with the positives:
This game is simply the most advanced game I've played to date. Not only are the graphics something out of the future, the story is what keeps you playing the game. It's like your walking through a movie, and YOUR the main character. If your sick of games with all shooting, and no storyline, this game is for you. This one WILL get you interested enough to keep playing it right to the end.

The weapons aren't the biggest attraction to the game, but the "matrix" style slow motion is like nothing you've seen before in a PC game.

The Negatives:
There's only ONE negative I can think of. That is that you better be running a damn good system if you expect to see and play this game up to it's potential. I'm running a P4 1.6 with a Geforce 3 TI series Accelerator, and that has something to do with why the graphics are so good, and there is no screen slow down.
Bottom line..if your system can take it, GO FOR IT.

Max Payne is a game like no other has a great story lots of shooting a lot of fun. 3D Realms has made another great game that follows Duke Nukem just like Duke Nukem the game doesn't crash doesn't go slow and you can play it all day and it will still be the same. Bullet time and everything in the game, graphics, textures, sound all are almost real. Max Payne like Duke will start new games.

Easily the best FPS I have played to date, excluding team based online games such as Half Life: Counter Strike. Sound and graphics are superb. Play control is also excellent - though I agree with the point of view problem mentioned in other reviews. This can usually be solved by rotating the view up a bit so you are looking at a slight down angle. And the crosshairs are difficult to see at times, but the hit detection is pretty generous and you'll probably hit anything in the reasonable vicinity. Finally, it does require a powerful computer, but this is no reason to downgrade your rating. Any regular computer gamer has to accept that having a top rate procesor and plenty of memory is a prerequisite to playing.

Max Payne is a game that can only reshape the genre, very much as Half Life did. Besides the obvious use of eye popping graphics and visceral and highly stylizied Hong Kong Movie style gunplay a la aptly named bullet time, this is a very engrossing game. The story moves along at a very crisp pace, giving you the feeling that the net is closing in on you as both the cops and the villains want you dead. The game also employs a nice touch, that it borrowed from Grim Fandango, where your head turns to look at items of interest. I cannot put this game down!! It will surprise you. I recommend that you try the demo, at least. You will need a hefty PC and 3d card to run this game well.

One of the best games of all times. It combines deep storey, nice graphics, smooth adventure and great Action in a way that will make an adict ! It's a classic !

Too many people are whining about the cheesy. hammy acting in this game. Well, guess what? When I was a kid, we didn't have this much acting in video games. All we could settle for was a couple of minutes of grainy dialogue and maybe some jerky FMV cut scenes. Max Payne is one step closer to bridging the gap between games and cinema. Kudos to the valiant Finns who created this bad boy. Finland is slowly but surely taking over the media world!

I am 14 and i think this game is right in the heart of any 13 to 24 year old gamer. some of the bad reviews are only there because adults put them there, and since the game is supposedly "for adults" the adults will play it and say "oh it's just a stupid tasteless killing fest with no plot." but a teenager will appreciate and continue to play this game for a long time. i think that max payne will be bought and played by people under age 17 more than by people who are "adults" just because, well, honestly, if you are 14 you have almost for sure seen a rated R action flick, and this game isn't even as bad as that! (the mobsters say "friggin"- come on). If you can handle seeing the the matrix, you can handle playing this game. it is a good game suitable for any sane responsible teenager who just wants to have fun playing a cool game.

MY DAD BOUGHT THIS GAME FOR HIMSELF. I LOVE WATCHING HIM PLAY. THE GRAPHICS ARE GREAT. THE CRIMINALS ARE LIFE-LIKE AND SO IS MAX. I LOVE HOW THE GAME WORKS. I LOVE MYSTERIES AND WHENEVER MY DAD PLAYS THIS GAME(WHICH HE IS REALLY GOOD AT)I ALWAYS WATCH HIM PLAY.
