Civ3 seems to be expanding the possibilities of previous Civ games. Diplomacy and trade will be in bigger role, characteristics of different races will be great new addition to the strategy. Hopefully it will support multiplaying in many ways, since the challenge against human is always more thrilling.
I just hope that the conquerroring strategy is not forgotten. Since in previous true Civ game(Civ2) there was lack of possibility to destroy opponents in the mid round. Since you had to develop Automobile and then you could try to attack your opponents. I enjoyed civ1 more just because of that.. I have always enjoyed my game most in the historical era.
I am drooling for this game, hopefully you will be also. BTW Civ1 is still the best game ever made. (still playing it with my old pc (286), Freeciv has been quite good choise also and of course Civ2)
Waste of money!!!

I bought this game because everyone told me it was good. I thought it would be like Age Of Empires which, for its time, was great, turns out it [is terrible]! This game is so boring that i stoped playing it after about 40 mins., i played it again with the same result.
Don't waste your money on it!
Instead i would recomend C&C Red Alert 2, C&C Red Alert 1, Starcraft, Warcraft 3, Diablo 2, C&C Generals or MechCommander 2

As you'll probably know, civilization continues and here's the newest version of the game known as civ3. Now don't get too excited about this game, as more often, you never know how it will end up as. I know, i know, it's enjoyable but just like civ1 and 2 were, i don't really think civ3 will make any difference. Gameplay and graphics changed a little bit from civilization 1 to 2. But overall, everything is the same. Whoever made this game is a person who likes to cheat people into buying this game and wasting their money on some garbage. I'd suggest buyers think more often about the sims and simcity 3000 and if they have these games, they should be thankful to themselves. Thank you.
this game is sick........

This game is poor. i have civilation call the power, the game play is
very slow, this mode of game is very sick, because you can play all
day and don't win or lost, you can play more days for
win?
when the PC attack you, you can think with suficent
time what do.
Games of strategy have to be in real time, in real
time you need have strategy to win, do you need stay prepared for all
movement of yours enemies.
do you want this
game?
think this before buy.

civilization is a great game, chose which past ruler you would like to be and play until you fall asleep. You can be many past empires including he carthaginians, the egyptions, the aztecs and many more. You can take over the world,(my personal preferance),make peace with everyone or make peace with some tribes and to work together to destroy someone, the ... for instance. chose your preference, learn tecnologies slowly or cheat and reveal the map, build things like nuclear missiles and tanks,or just destroy a civilization...
Hope its not cluttered like civ 2

Civ 1 was easy to look at and understand civ 2 you really had to work at making out what every thing was in the cities cause it was so cluttery so hopefully that was fixed

When I first installed it and it crashed the first time playing it, I thought, okay, here we go, ... But, like most cpu most games, they probably released it before it was done. I went to Civ3.com, downloaded the patch, and now it works fine. No problems. I have a Pentium II 866mhz, 512 sdram, 32Mb 4X agp videocard, so the system is not that new. If you're having slowdown problems, buy and install more RAM, it's cheap, and easy to do.
Now onto the game. It is awesome. I never liked Sim games, but I figured I'd give it a shot since you can buy it now for $20. I was up till 3am last night playing until the Aztecs killed me(I knew I should have taken them out when I had the chance. The interface is easy to use and there are advisors to help you when in need. I can't wait until I really learn how to play using diplomacy, trade, embargos, and espionage. Buy this game. Get the patch. Enjoy. Thanks for playin'.

This game really had no point. I didn't even understand the point. One thing I really didn't like about this game was the fact that there was no "levels". At first the game looked great, and I thought it was going to be my favorite game of all time. It was a big letdown. The cheats for this game really .... I don't really reccomend this game, but it is not bad as some games I've played.
