Great Simulation!

Well I wanna start by saying I love this game I play it whenever I can! I like the realism (in terms of the characters interacting with one another and etc.) in the simulation, and how most characters are realistic to history's portral! Except Chancellor Bismarck's aggressive bevhavior!!! But other than that it is AWESOME! It took time to learn how to keep cash flow and learn the basic functions, but it was fun on the way!
If you love strategy, history and war/conquest type games...BUY THIS!!!

A Wonderful edition to the Civilization Saga!

This is a cool game :) If you are a fan of the Civilization Saga, as I am, you won't be disappointed. The graphics are good, the soundtrack is much improved, and the leaders are well drawn and excellent. The game has gotton harder, much harder in my opinion. Your strategy of playing the game has gotten more complex, and gives you better play. The game has become more realistic, and is definately more challenging. If you are ready to conquor the world either by peace, force, economically, or culture you are now set to do this. I would encourage you, if you have played this game in the past, to try this edition.

My wife says I can't have this game.

When she asked me what I want for my upcoming birthday, I told her Civ III. She then asked if it was the sequal to that game with the arguing council. When I said it was, she flatly said I cannot have it because she'll never see me.

Having spent a few hours drooling on my keyboard after visiting their website, she's probably right. I guess I'll just have to tell her it's something else when I'm playing it. :)

Totally rocking gameplay!

This game is mad addictive! I can't believe how many hours I've already spent playing it since it came out. There are so many options now! The best part is to actively trade and negotiate terms with your opponents. It's too bad they left out the Mongols and Vikings, but I think they'll add them in the expansion??? I really like the changes they made in the battle tactics and rules. If you like strategy games, get this game!

This game is awesome!

I bought the game last week and I've been playing it non-stop. It is a deep and addictive game.

The AI are much more sophisticated and negotiations are a lot of fun. It's amazing to play against 15 different AI's on a huge map. It gets pretty complicated with all of the different military alliances, mutual protection pacts, and trade embargo agreements.

I think it's great that the units are now all animated, especially when they fight. They also have health points so you can see how much life they have left after a battle.

I think they could have done better on a few details, however. For example, why do the AI still build all those damn mines EVERYWHERE??? More importantly, why do they still move around like crazy for no good reason during their turn? That just takes up ALL the time waiting for your turn!

Overall though, the game is awesome and a definite buy.

Best Civ version EVER!

...

This one improves upon the previous versions, and puts Call to Arms to shame! I've played every single Civ game released and haven't gone back to the others.

Just waiting for multiplayer mode!

The proof is in the pudding

To keep it simple, this game is great. You will become addicted to this epoch within minutes of settling your first city. The interface is truly user-friendly, the graphics are good, the sound is engaging, the play is non-stop, and the theme is perfect if you enjoy "conquer-the-world" sims. Futhermore, this game has the new feature of allowing the player to conquer the world using cultural influence. This is a wonderful benefit for all us non-violent people who would prefer to avoid war when playing video games. This does not mean you will not fight in some wars but it does mean you will be advancing your civilization without war in many instances (if you desire).

This is a wonderful game for the winter months.

Another masterpiece

Sid Meier has done it again! This game continues to build upon the proud tradition of his series -- complex interactions among various civs, enhanced graphics over the previous version.. and even more addictive than the previous editions! The controls are a bit difficult to figure out at first, though the updated Civilopedia does provide additional terms. However, this is another excellent effort, building on his past success.

I highly recommend this game to anyone who loves history, fascinating scenarios -- and many hours to play, since once you sit down, it is very difficult to turn it off.

One of the best!

This is a classic history game. You can choose from over ten different empires to rule. If you're new at this game, there's a tutorial mode, and you have advisors. You can even customize your own planet! This is a very entertaining strategy game.

Best Game I have

I got Civ3 from a software order, not knowing if it would be any good. But little did I know I stumbled across one of the best games in the world! The civilized world at least. I got it a month ago and I love it, my advice buy it, buy it, buy it! Then you will know how I feel!!!!!!
