It's up to you. Neither I nor any of the other hardcore gamers that have written bad reviews can change the fact you are about to waste your money. So go ahead and believe all those people who rave over this game. They call it "astounding", "revolutionary" and "must see to believe". Apparently all these people are all on crack. Oh by the way....... be sure to purchase "The Sims Online" when it comes out, and have fun spending 10$ a month just to play it.

When I first played Black and White, beaten the tutorials, I got to a real mission, at that point I wanted to sell this game on Ebay. Unless you have read everything tidbit of information on this game you will have to restart at least once. In my case I was sent back 2 hours. When I tried again, spent more time with the villages, I easily beat the 2nd world. There is a lot of micromanaging be warned!! The gameplay is orignal, addictive, and fun. Of course the best part of the game is the creature. Unfortuantly the micromanaging takes away from the creature part of the game. Graphics are 2nd to only Giants, and sound is best I have ever heard in a game! The music blends in perfectly with the game. If you dont mind spending a little time learning the basics of the game, you will get a much more fufilling experience than a shootem up game, rts, fighter, action, or rpg game(hrm it is all those games!)

I admit it is a little slow but the game iis great. You do little side quests to gain miracles that make it easier to win the game. Then you trainyour creater so it starts working for you converting villages and at the same timeyou are working to expand your influence so you can take over your other gods territories. finally the mainquest is so intense and hard to accomplish that you have to work on keeping everything in balance and destroy the other gods so you can get the creed and defete nemisis. Overall this game gives you over a 100 hours of exiting intense gameplay that will keep you asking for more.

After playing the first couple of hours, I started to like the game. Then I got addicted. But the game got very repetitive. I felt like just doing the same thing over and over again. And especially when the stupid creature gets captured again it just isn't fun anymore. Its the same stuff over and over again and it just takes long.
I found myself addicted: I felt like I HAD to play. But I found no joy in playing it. It was the same stuff over and over again. And then there were those annoying characters that sing or do other annoying things. And then you find out THEY JUST WONT DIE.
Damn this game is annoying.
Finally I got myself to uninstall. Damn that was a relief! Now I can play other games again.. games that are actually fun! I really felt like I was relieved of a huge burden.

Hours of endless fun.

This is one very detailed game! Make sure you have a good computer to get the best results from this game. It may seem intimidating at the beginning because of all the different control options, but believe me you'll master it in no time. There are so many things to do in this game and you can choose to be a good god or an evil god so there are different outcomes each time you start a new game. Make sure you have a lot of free time though, because I guarantee you'll be hooked.

Too bad I'm not able to leave a Zero Star. I played this game up to three campaigns. The micromanagement was futile and so was my creature assistant. During the third campaign, I was trying to micromanage as best as I could - gain resources. I realized I spent nearly an hour pulling trees for wood, that's it. A major premise of the game is like pulling digital e-weeds. I changed my game deity's name to "The Weed-Pulling Garden Gnome" - Finally frustrated, I swore on my own name, "By the dirty fingers of the Weed-Pulling-Garden-Gnome-God! Gawd! This game sucks!"

Makes me long for Daikatana.

An incredibly well thought out game engine and hyped concept done completely and totally wrong from the very beginning. This is not Populous et al. This is about micro managing every villager and being frustrated with the interface and lack of ability to change the environment or command your villagers to do anything but have sex, eat and work. The quests are incredibly bad and poorly thought out.

The graphics are nice over all but the villagers are done badly. The AI is 'neat' though it can be frustrating at times. You can't blame that on Lionhead. Its easily the best AI on the market right now. But that being said, we've got a long way to go. Still this is heads above the rest in the intelligence department.

Black and White has been in development for several years, and after playing Black and White- it shows. Every second that I have played of this game reaks of someone's hard work and dedication. Little touches, big touches- the entire game is designed to be fun... and boy, is it successful. Black and White allows you, the player, to take over the role of a god. From there, you are placed in a world where its fate is up to you. The game is all controlled through a 3D hand, directed and aimed with the mouse. Using this hand, you can do just about anything: pick up people and place them to do certain tasks, move your creature around the world, pick up rocks and trees, throw rocks and trees (at people!) and cast wonderous miracles to aid you. Though I don't want to give away too much, there is much to do this game. Never at any point will the player ever become bored with the game, as there is much to do at any given point. I'll leave you with us: Black and White is a game that all PC gamers must try.

Difficult to control

It is really hard to zoom in zoom out or move or turn around. I am very glad that I did not buy this game. I only played this game in a cybercafe for 2 hours. After 2 hours, I still fail to solve the control problem.
