When I first opened up the box i was excited and abosolutely horrified. Before me I saw A massive instruction manual. Ive been playing games quite a while, and none have compared to this massive block of depth. Althouhg it was obvious I wasnt going to read throuhg the whole thing, eventually thruohg time I did, which surprised the hell out of me. I had gotten well into the game and was still learning small things that improved my experience just a little more.

I was definately satisfied that this game has a depth like no other, seriously. I mean it is an entire world for gods sake! Although i was looking for this kind of thing, some might find it a little overwhelming, but trust me it is well worth your time, So go ahead and buy it, youll be able to tell if youll like it right off, when you notice all the different [stuff] you can do when designing your character. Trust me, this game is absolutely fantastic, even if overwhelming at the beginning.

Hey, what's up guys? Well, lets see, why should you buy this game? Well, it is one of the best RPG's to come along in years, it gives you months and months of continuous enjoyment, and you can choose almost everything you do in the game. This game is much easier to understand if you've play Baldur's Gate 1 (another game which I highly recomend). And for all you D&D fans out there - this is the game for you. For all of you who aren't D&D fans (I've never even played D&D) - this is the game for you. And for all of you that are wondering what D&D is, well it stands for Dungeons and Dragons. The only reason you shouldn't buy this game is if you don't like to spend a lot of time at your computer or if you want more of a challenge (You can always put the game on the hardest difficulty level though.). Also, if you are new to RPGs it may be hard to understand at first, but luckily the game comes with a handy-dandy tutorial (The tutorial kept quiting out of the game on my computer, but that was on one of the resolution that wasn't fully tested yet). Many people think that this game is superior to Diablo 2. Superior? Come on, of course Diablo 2 gets a little boring after a while. But that's where Baldur's Gate comes in. When you get tired of Diablo 2, just pop Baldur's Gate 2 (or 1) in your CD-ROM drive. And then if you ever get tired of Baldur's Gate, well by that time Diablo 2 won't seem so boring anymore. Like my ingenious (Oh well, I think I spelled that wrong) plan? Now just go ahead and buy these kick-a-- games and have fun staring at you computer screen. Later, man.

Guys, and gals too, this game rocks.

Alright, this game can be summed up in about two words. Kick A**. I am the type of gamer who was into the gory shoot em up game style, were the action was fast and the plot was non existant. Plus i thought that D&D was stupid. Holy crap was i wrong.
This game is by far the best i have ever played and can honestly say that its beter than any shooter on the market. The plot is so thick you can cut it with a knife, the plot twists totaly surprising and amasing, and none of the recycled story crap which is killing the gaming industry.
While this is a pretty serious game its not all strong but silent knight in shining armor(or evil knight in blood soaked armor, your choise) but there are some truly amusing peices here too.
Don't be surprised if eventualy you start to take a little bit of a liking to your character and crew.
So any how, if you are looking for a good, plot driven game, that is new and exiting I can garauntee as a hardcore gamer, that this is one of the best.

i decided to write this when i saw that the average customer review was less than 5 stars. this is the best game i've ever played and other peoples comments as to how it is filled with subquests and nothing else have never passed act 2. the amount of replay value in this game more than triples that of any other game i have played, including BG 1. Buy this game. It is a different game every time you play with a different class or alignment.

Baldur's Gate 2 - One of the greatest game i had pleasure of having and playing. The ability to have a party that interacts with you and your decisions is unbelieavable. With a sharp turn around every corner of the story this game is undoubtedly deserves 5 starts. With the great history of Dungeons and Dragons this is a great accomplishment done by Black Isle Studios. If you are a fan of Dungeons and Dragons' games this is a must by for you. ---- Janos Horvath

Why BG2?

I've played and beaten BG2 and Neverwinter Nights. My first game was neverwinter nights and i was soon addicted to rpgs ( and Extended Play, Now X play on Tech TV, Everybody better watch Adam!). For christmas i recieved BG2. What did I think of the two? BG2 was way better! Although I found that NN had better graphics BG2 had way better plot and character developement. BG2 also seemed( How can I say it?) More busy. You seemed to be getting more interactions with other charachters, more places to see and explore, and you character seemed to be getting cooler buy the minute (hey you can turn into a frigen' monster). BG2 was like walking into a book that you controlled. I loved NN but RB2 is my easy first pick. Don't agree with me? Well I understand everybody looks for different things in games. Yours may be different than mine.

Okay,I wish I could give it a zero! yuck!!! This game is twisted! The plot is sinister. Its down right creepy! The villain defines evil! He collects people in jars of water and does experiments on them. Some of the victims beg to be killed. In fact, the PLAYER must kill one of these tortured victims in order to continue playing the game!!!! I bought this game because of the reviews claiming this was the best of all games but then I played it. So now I'm utterly DISGUSTED!!! Yes, the game play is great but the plot and scenarios are evil. I can't believe that SO MANY people have skipped over the plot in their reviews and some people have even praised it! EWWWWWWWWWW!!! So Beware! If you have any moral backbone or ethical values, then stay far away from this evil game! And don't argue that it's only a "game". What type of person would want to spend hours "playing" by killing tortured victims yourself before you can move on in the "Game". It's wrong, evil, and harmful. If you don't care, then what does that say about you? Don't buy this game!

This is the best game ever made by any one. It's fun to play, it has great graphics, great sound and lighting. It's just an all around good game. It is a must buy, for any one.
