I just wanted to tell you consumers the truth about this piece of crap. Many X-box owners have seen the previews, and are expecting alot from this game. Let me tell you that this game has a crappy rpg element in it that makes this crappy game even worse. The graphics are not very impressive, and I grew bored of this game very quickly. This is not a first person shooter. It is a mix between F.E.A.R. and Psi-ops....a bad mix. I wasted 50 dollars!!! My X-box 360 is bad enough with no good games except for Halo 3, and bungie better not mess that up. The only people who would enjoy Bio-shock are microsoft tools who crawl out of their cave every 10 months to see daylight, but they can't because they're already blind. Blind of sight and taste in games. I hate my 360 if halo 3 sucks i'm going to throw it infront of a bus, so it stops making so much noise!

No multiplayer :(

Okay, I'm gonna start off by saying this is a fun/great game. The reason I gave it a 3 is because of the lack of multiplayer. Everyone tells me that this game would suck with multiplayer. How? You have guns, plasmids, and alot of other stuff. It would be perfect and I think alot of fun on Live.
Now I will get to the actual game..
The game itself is alot of fun. I played the demo and I was a little skeptical about it, but I picked it up anyways. I was happy I got it. The game is very short. I beat it in a week and a half playing about an hour a night. Not very long. The graphics are amazing. the only part of the graphics I didn't like was the blood. It was too fake looking. It kinda looked like paint. The way you can use plasmids (electricity, fire, telekinisis, ect..) is awesome. It gives you alot of control in the game. Most reviews say you can use pretty much any weapon immgaginable. That may be true for the telekinisis, but as far as weapons go, you only get like 8 or 9. The game is pretty easy. You have arrows most of the time to show you where to go. If you play on hard, however, it will be alot more difficult. I say buy the game. The story line is very epic, and I have never played a game like this before. The 40's era is where it takes place I believe. Pretty awesome if you ask me. This is a refreshing FPS. It's not like all the MS and FPS you always see that are the same thing over and over. All in all, its a great game, but it lack multiplayer. I say if you have a 360 or a compatible PC, then get it.

Why always zombies?

BioShock has an absolutely gorgeous Art Nouveau setting and atmosphere, with an interesting Objectivism-laced plot and a wide variety of abilities and upgrades for your character.

Unfortunately, after that, it's just stereotypical first-person-shooter zombie killing, without enough variety in the enemies and encounters.

Best 1st person shooter!!!

The title says it all. Just wish it had multiplier. Want to use xbox live. Other than that, worth the money.

Almost as good as Half Life 2

What can I say... Great, great, great.

If I has to say one bad thing about it, the tone doesn't change. That is where Half Life 2 has it over this game. However, I haven't finished it, so I don't really know if it has a tonal shift later on.

So worth the money.

Best FPS so far 2007

I would equate this game on a level equal to Half Life 2.. It is easily the best FPS since HL2 came out, and would rate this top 5 games on an xbox 360. It is a definite MUST own if you have a 360. If you don't want to fork over the dough, just rent it.. the game has a nice play time of about 15-20 hours, that doesn't seem excessive or make you feel you were cheated out of your money. Would highly recommend this game to everyone.

Wow.... just wow

I haven't played a game this exciting since the original Half Life. I sit there paranoid about something jumping out from around the corner the entire time I am playing, you get so emersed in this game.

The graphics are absolutely beautiful, the game play is phenominal. The AI is AMAZING! Lighting someone on fire and watching them run and dive into water to put out the flames is awesome. Also the shocked look on their faces when you pull a gun or weapon out of their hand using telekinesis is so cool.

This game is a must have for any FPS fan.

a breth of fresh air in a familiar genre

Bioshock is unlike any FPS (first person shooter) that you have ever played. Along with the usual weapons such as shotguns, pistols, and machine guns you get plasmids to use while up against the residents of Rapture. These plasmids include offensive powers like shooting electricity/fire/ice from your hands, manipulative powers such as enrage, controlling the Big Daddies, and having security cameras target your enemies, and the multipurpose telekinesis. The level and character design is top notch and really makes for a believable setting and story. The only thing that could make this game better is to add multiplayer. Perhaps we'll see that in a Bioshock 2.

just great

Its the kind of game that you can end or play in diferent ways depending on your likes of the plasmid, guns or abilities in general. plus it has really nice new tricks.
