First person shooters aren't my kind of game. But Bioshock is one of the best gaming experiences I've ever had. It truly immerses you into the world of rapture and has you on the edge of your seat from start to finish. I still love my third person games, but Bioshock is definitely a game not to miss.
Any Fallout Fans out there?

This game is good on many levels. The game play is easy to learn and even easier to use. My favorite part of this game however is not that the graphics are good or anything like that. My favorite part is that this game reminds me of fallout through and through from the look of the city all the way down to the music that plays from the juke boxes. This game is fun and the rpg aspect of it is tied in pretty well. I think ill be playing this game for awhil;e to come.

Great game of both fun and challenge, it is not one that will be done in a week. The graphics and storyline with characters and weapons of artillery and magic as well as the city underwater you are fighting in against AI that is smart and tough just makes this the best FPS or first person shooter since Rainbow six vegas and even that looks a little weak compared.... This made me gladly wait for Halo!

The only bad thing about this game is that it raised so much the standars and will be difficult to find similar or better games in the near future.

This game is everything it was said to be. The only thing I dont like about it is the enemies. They dont change throughout the entire game. You fight the same enemies in the first level as you do in the last. So the replay value is way down IMO. But still one of the best FPS I have played in years.
This game did not disappoint.

I am almost always disappointed in highly rated games.
Magazine reviews are either completely worthless, or, at best, are written by people who never do anything but play video games. They're like movie critics who rate everything on a scale that includes 95% garbage; what they like only means something in the context of people who are constantly exposed to terrible games.
The rest of us only want to play the few games that are good.
Bioshock is one of those games.
A first person shooter with good pacing, good action and a good story that's actually fun to play.

This has to be one of the greatest FPS/adventure games, right along Deus Ex and Red Faction. This game overall has distinct similarities to the original Deus Ex, as permitting the character to develop as he or she wishes with biomodifications. The underwater environment of Rapture is simply awesome to behold. The neon glow as you stare out the window is reminiscent of 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea. Continuing on, the only downside is that there aren't too many variations on the "regular" enemies such as the Splicers. Splicers are essentially mutants. The cool factor of the enemies lies in the Big Daddies. They are essentially bosses of each level, and they are generally escorting a Little Sister. The Little Sister is essentially the basis of the game. They have been mutated, and they drain the component ADAM which is needed to modify you. After killing a Big Daddy, which takes at least some planning and strategy, you have two decisions to deal with a Little Sister -- harvesting or rescuing them. This stems throughout the entire game -- moral decisions, some insignificant and some rather significant as the Little Sister, and this mirrors its predecessor Deus Ex. The biomodifications and the old-style weapons are very easy to use, add and modify. Overall, this game should be in lead for Game of the Year.

This is one of the best games I have played in a very long time. Great story, sound, graphics, and playability. What more can you ask for?
The music, graphics, voice acting, and storyline seem to be top notch...

The intro scene, beautiful graphics and music, and creepy atmosphere prevented me from parting with my control pad for a few hours after opening the game. A futuristic shooter with a 1940's type of setting, you would think you were on a set of the Ballroom scene in the Shining. The voice acting of the antagonist is terrific as he mocks you and your KGB or CIA counterparts. The hyperactive "zombies" are somewhat entertaining as they act out daily arguments, and upon seeing you, chase you down with their party masks, iron pipes, and handguns (unfortunately from what I've read, there's not much enemy variety). I've come across my first puzzle, which was to hack a disabled security Bot to fight alongside me.. it was more of a distraction, but the hotwiring concept was cool.
The only major drawback seems to be the FPS controls. It reminds me of a game I used to play in the mid 90s - Doom 64 or was it Duke Nukem? I'm struggling to adjust after playing platinum shooters like Gears of War and Resident Evil 4. I'm only in the beginning stages of the game, but already this annoying wrench is proving to be useless as I try to conserve my ammo while fighting gun-toting hostiles. And I'm only on normal difficulty.
