Hands down, The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past is the best action/rpg ever made.

One of the best games ever made...

It's hard to articulate how incredible this game is. Every aspect of the game -- the story line, the characters, the sound effects, the music -- they all add up to an incredible masterpiece of video gaming. I've had hours of entertainment with this game, and I still get cravings to play it, even though it's over ten years old. Wow...I really can't say enough about it..it has to be experienced. Of course, you have to remember when the game was made in order to truly appreciate. Of course, if you're reading this review, you probably already know and love The Legend of Zelda. Let's all sit back for a moment, close our eyes, and reminisce. Ahhh, what a great game. We were truly a blessed generation, growing up with the Super Nintendo.

Wow, what a perfect experience this was playing this game.

I cannot think of anything the makers of this game could have done to make it any better. Playing this was exciting from the beginning to the end. There is a huge world to explore with fun side quests, and many people to talk with. I loved all the different unique areas to explore, and to find out where I could go to next with my new abilities. The game surprised me many times with its fresh new look and being able to do so much, and the puzzles were not so frustrating to loose the fun out of it. This game will always be near and dear to me, I loved playing this game, and it will always be one of my favorite games.

I love this game, i first played this game when i bought my SNES console, this was the game included with the system. After having it stolen, i didnt play it for about 9 years. I recently bought another SNES console, and this was the first game I picked up. It's challenging, and very addictive. A Must for any SNES owner...

they just don't make them like this anymore...

The gameplay in this installment in the Zelda series is absolutely incredible. For its time the graphics and sound were great, but the story and overall experience of playing through this game is incredible. Incredible leaps and bounds in graphics and sound have been made with all of today's games, but after a decade there are still only a couple of titles that can match this one in terms of fun and replay value. Second to Final Fantasy VI, this is simply the best game ever made.

Great Game!

This was my first Zelda game. And the reason I bought a nintendo 64 machine and Zelda Ocarina of time. And look forward to The Legend of Zelda :Mask of Mujula to come out in fall. My whole family loves this game. Very young to very old. It is another Zelda success. You never get bored with it. You always discover something new. Great graphics, easy to manuver. Very challenging. As you play a story unfolds and you are a part of it. No Zelda collection is complete without this one. I was amazed at what they could do with a super nintendo game. Some of the bosses look so real. This one got me hooked on Zelda. Well worth buying.

The reason I got my SNES in the first place

Link to the Past will go down as a classic Nintendo game. If there was a video game hall of fame, I think any of the Zelda games would be in it but Link to the Past would definately be in first.

L2P (Link to the Past) seriously had everything going for it from good graphics and effects to twist and turn gameplay and story lines to outstanding replay. This was another game that I didn't get tired of because it was that fun to play.

It played similar to the original Zelda with an overhead view of your surroundings and at each end of the world, there was something different including an Alternate world when you used the mirror!

There were levels that accommodated every gamer's ideal level. Enemies to fight, bonus items to pick up, almost eerie at times scenery and definately some of the best adventure type gameplay ever.

I still have my original copy of this game so I'm safe but for those of you who don't have Link to the Past, you have to get it. There is no excuse if you're a Nintendo fan. If you claim you are a true Nintendo fan and you don't have this one, there's something wrong with you. Get this game!

Today's video game addicts are inclined to play only the state-of-the-art, virtual reality graphics and the hottest new releases. However, for fans of older games (from the 80's and 90's)you will find that this game is highly entertaining and worth the purchase. It was made and released in 1991-1992. For those who were not old enough to remember, that was the time of the Persian Gulf War when President Bush Senior made the mistake of not capturing Saddam Hussein early enough. I was only 11-12 then but I remember the excitement and the long hours spent passing this engaging game. A Link To The Past is the third installment to the two "Legend Of Zelda" games that came before it for Nintendo- The Legend Of Zelda Part I and The Legend Of Zelda Part 2 The Adventures Of Link. In these two games, Link is the young elfin hero clad in green Robin Hood style garments and bearing a great sword who journeys across the enchanted land of Hyrule, defeats monsters and the evil Master Ganon, a pig-headed villain, in order to save the beautiful Princess Zelda. The follow-up to these two popular games came when Nintendo manufactured a new video game system- Super Nintendo.

Although the graphics are very flat and unimpressive as compared to the video games of today's newer systems- Game Cube and Play Station, the game is still very enjoyable and brings back so many memories. It's pure nostalgia. At the time, the graphics were nothing to laugh at. Its clear to make out what lurks behind cave walls that need bombing, bushes that conceal fairies, hearts or diamonds, the castles and their dark dungeons, treasure chests and keys, as well as Kakariko Village with its charming houses and lawns, the barren desert with its skeletal remains, cacti, sand monsters and preying birds, the mountain where boulders fall, the swamp, the rivers and lakes, the Light World and its dark parallel world the Dark World. It's up to Link (or you) to travel across these places and collect magic pendants, draw the Master Sword from the stone block in much the same way King Arthur did in the legends, save Zelda and the Seven Maidens, as well as defeat the grim wizard Agahnim and the dark lord Ganon whose dark purpose is to claim the Triforce, the sacred wish-granting triangle created by the three goddesses. A story who combines fantasy, heroic adventure, myth and Lord Of The Rings type of plot, it's really a great game to own for Super Nintendo. Gamers of today, 2000 and beyond, will benefit from making a trip to the past or making a Link To The Past (could'nt resist the play in words) by checking out this incredible game.

I own this game for my Super Nintendo, and it's pretty cool. Although, it's not cool enough to get a 5 star rating from me. I've beat it a few times. It has a cool story structure, but it could have better items. When you beat a dungeon, you get a pendant, instead of an Essance, Mask, or Medallian. There are three dungeons in all. You can go between the real world and the dark realm to advance in your journey! That's pretty cool. It's up to you whether you want to buy it or not! See ya!

This game rocks.

This game happens to be my favorite game of all time, along with Super Mario 3. The game starts out when Links father goes out to try to save Princess Zelda. Then link is in bed and he hears a call, from Zelda, and he has to save her. Throughout you adventure, you have to find many things, complete many tasks, and there are many fun mini games to keep you coming back for more. Sometimes you find something out by mistake, or sometimes you have to use your common sence. There are many items that need to be found, and many extra things that aren't neccesary, but they can help you... The game is like a old wise tale. In the game there are many people you will meet telling you ledgends, or different things. About the wise men, gannon, or what's gonna happen. This game is huge, fun, and you have to be crazy not to like it.
