Great graphics and gameplay, light on story.

Gears of War is a good game. It really shows off what the Xbox 360 can do in terms of graphics, sound, and gameplay.

The problem though, is that where a game like Halo really makes you feel like Master Chief, this game kind of skimps. There is a "story", but it's light and isn't what pulls you into the game (the action does).

The being said, it's still a lot of fun, with great multiplayer on live, and a current must have for anyone with an Xbox 360.

Awesome fps. The controls are somewhat different from classical fps games, but once you get used to them the game is spectacular. Looks great, plays great, feels great. Best fps since the original Halo.

If you are looking for an Xbox 360 game to play, this is where it's at. The best game out there right now, in my honest opinion, and one of the best games I've ever played. Be careful though, lots of violence, gore, and some foul language.

Before purchasing this game, I didn't know what to expect, except the "awesome" comments from friends. I have to admit honestly that while I first attempted to play this game, I almost peed in my pants. The gameplay is absolutely amazing, graphics are one-of-a-kind, and the controls are not difficult to grasp at all. Gears of war will definitely keep your adrenalin pumping and your hands sweating while you are in killing spree, attacking all creatures that come at you. Even at the easiest level (casual), the game can still be challenging (but not impossible). So, if you are looking for an action packed game that won't bore you after 30 minutes of play, I would highly recommend Gears of War.

Very fun, great graphics. Solid gameplay.

I must admit seeing previews of this game were one of the reasons I decided to get an xbox 360. And I wasn't disappointed.

Just playing through the campaign single player is fun enough, but being able to have a friend join and play with you at ANY POINT in the game is AWESOME, if you're having trouble beating a particular boss you can call a buddy up and have them help you beat that boss, a very good option that was added. Multiplayer is fun as well! Only small complaint I have is needing two consoles and two screens to play multiplayer with 4 people, but compared to how great everything else is in the game, it is easily forgiven!

I definitely recommend this game to any mature gamer looking for a great shooter game.

This is the best xbox 360 game to date. Awesome graphics, great gameplay and excellent sound. The game is a little short but still a must have. Don't let the third person view through you off this game is great for first person shooter fans. Excellent title.

Gameplay is great for single and for split screen. Online play wasn't as good, but still worth 5 stars.

This is easily the best shooter I've ever played. Halo and Halo 2 are right up there, but this beats 'em by quite a bit. The graphics on this game are extremely good. I find myself feeling like I'm watching a movie or I'm actually there. The controls work very well, except when you're trying to run and end up accidentally taking cover. Lots of things are done by pressing the A button, so that's why that happens. The story is quite good, but the game is way too short. It only too about 12 hours on the Hard Core difficulty (which would probably be medium). Playing on Insane is definitely the best way to go, since it's much, much harder. It just makes it more of a challenge. The sound is really good, too. Everything just seems so realistic about it. The multiplayer is great, too. I'll play for hours and hours on multiplayer. The game is rated M, but I personally don't think it's that bad. Sure, it's violent, but that part of it is not overly realistic and it's just aliens you're shooting up. And if you've got a problem with that or all the cussing, just go into options and turn off extreme content. Problem solved. So, if you've got an Xbox 360 and don't own this game yet, you NEED to buy it!

This game is so fun, alone, with a friend. online. After one year this is still the most played game on xbox 360. A must have for anyone with the system

This game is awsome, the graphics are nicely done, gameplay is so much fun and addictive. It's awsome just to go up to a grub and chainsaw them in half while blood sqruits all over the screen. You can blindfire, chainsaw Grubs, blow them up. I highly recommed this game to whoever love a gory, well-action packed game, but the game is rather short. When you conquer the game, take it on xbox live for more fun. A MUST HAVE GAME!
