GREAT FOR ANYONE, A MUST FOR HD TV OWNERS

If you love first shooter war games, this is as about as good as good gets. The HD graphics are absolutely awsome. The gameplay controls are simplistic and efficient as all great games shouls be. You don't have to have cat-like reflexes to play and enjoy this game. I suggest swapping Madden 2006 to any sucker you can get to trade you for COD 2.

P.S. I hope the new 24 Game will be available on x360. So for it looks as if it is only on PS 2.

This is the best game for 360 yet I love the graphics and my favorite thing is that you dont have to save all the time and when you die you begin not too long before you died.

Crazy game

When I bought my Xbox 360, I got this game. This game is the best war game I've ever played. The aiming is amazing, better than most games. The best part about it though are the graphics. They are so crisp, it's very impressive, probably one of the most life like games I've played (game play and graphic wise). What I like also is that you only get shot a few times and you could be dead, so it makes for a better challenge, not like Halo where you get shot tons of times before your sheild goes down (Halo is still amazing though, don't get me wrong). If you got Xbox 360, I suggest you pick this up, it's a great game and you'll have fun with it.

Review of Call of Duty 2

Call of Duty 2: One of the best World War 2 First-Person Shooter's on the market today!

Call of duty 2 places the player into the most hospitiful moments of WW2. Starting with the Russian Motherland, you, a newly recruited private must endure the training before heading out into the battlefield of mother Russia to protect it from invading Nazi forces! Fall into the Russian trenches of 1941! Fight Nazi's! Defend your motherland! Fight back against the Nazi War Machine!

You will move onto different years and units during the game, you will fight along side the Russian, American and British forces as you advance back and forth against the Nazi empire!

This game is worth buying if your into World War first-person shooter's, the game has incrediable graphics and music, giving you the great playing feeling that your actually there, running across a battlefield, dodging bullets and mortar fire!

The game also includes missions where you can man mounted gun turrents, take hold of tanks and blow your enemy back into the stone-age!

You can use up to a great amount of War Weaponary such as Sniper Rifles, Panzershrek rocket launchers, Thompsons and Good'ol machine guns. Your squad-mates can assist you and you them, of course not all squad-mates are going to know what to do in panic events. There is some comical comments spread through-out the game, also adding alittle comedy and added realizism to the game.

This game is very fun to play and has a set of different difficulty levels starting from Recruit - Veteran, if you want to experience what World War 2 was like, the suggested level of difficulty would be Veteran.

The only let-down of this game is the multiplayer, as this mode only allows up to 8 other players, therefore this leaves the fight feeling out. Other than that the games great!

This is my review, thanks for reading!

Here's a reason to buy a 360!

This game is really fun to play and the graphics are impressive. I was mainly playing the single player campaign, when a friend of mine at work suggested I play online. Since then, I have been playing online every chance I get. I really enjoy and have fun playing online. BUT...there are some problems with the online aspect of this game. Joining a game is sometimes hard due to server being full, there are some serious lag time at moments when other people are joining your game and it is hard to stay with your friends in match after match. You almost have to join a game and then send an invite to your friends. However, this game is so fun that I easily forget about the problems. It reminds me of the first time playing Medal of Honor and how cool I thought it was to play as soldier in World War 2. It also reminds me of the first time I discovered online gaming with SOCOM...you can't put down the controller... Probably the best Xbox 360 game out ther right now too. I have tried Perfect Dark Zero, and while that game is fun in campaign mode...the online part of the game is not as enjoyable as COD 2. Get Call of Duty 2 today you'll be glad you did!

Not for Xbox Live

Great single player game, but plaing on xbox live will only give you heartburn. You can not setup your own games. You can not set your own map. You can not pick who you play with (teams or clans). Who ever is first on the list of an online game is the server, even if they are a slow connection, so you can expect some major lag time, jumpy graphics, and even disconnects.

...not quite a call of beauty

There was so much hype on this game, seeing as it was a 360 release date release, and so I figured I'd give it a go.

I bought this game only having played a couple of FPS to date: Goldeneye, Halo, and Halo 2. So the bar was already set high. I'm not easy to please, but this game did a pretty good job of doing that.

The graphics are wonderful, but to be honest, they'd better be. It's the freakin' 360! Smooth gameplay, and smooth control. My only problem with the controls were the fact that you really couldn't customize them how you wanted. And, since I'd just been playing Halo and Halo 2 the most recent, I would crouch instead of melee. There are really only a few control differences, so the learning curve there isn't much.

The plot had a LOT of holes in it, though. It wasn't a straightline of gameplay like I was used to. I was finally getting used to answering to a Russian name when I suddenly became Davis, then Taylor. The Normandy invasion wasn't near what I was expecting, either.

Here's a tip for the game, though: Are you trying to figure out what to do? Odds are you have to plant an explosive on a tank. That got a little repetative.

The online play is a definite minus! It doesn't allow guests (unlike Halo 2), and you can't join up with friends and run with them for a while. If anyone playing lags, the whole thing lags, and that way sucks.

That's a lot of minuses, really, but this game is way awesome, too. Don't buy it for $60. $45, yes.

***EDIT: I just beat the game in Regular, and started a new one on hardened (the next difficulty level up). In regular, you can get shot upwards of 10 or 11 times before dying. Hard, 3! There should be some middle ground, seriously! I'm afraid to see what "Veteran" is like.

The new standard in World War II gaming

Somewhat disillusioned and apathetic to the sheer density of number of World War II games being churned out each year for the consoles since PlayStation 2, I got pretty sick of the entire genre, as I imagine many people did. How many dozens of Medal of Honor games are there? I've only played Spearhead, Frontline, and Airborne. I didn't expect this one to emerge as one of the best I've played.

Having not played the first Call of Duty, I can only say that Call of Duty 2 has been the most immersive, realistic, and overall most fun with the most lasting appeal of any World War II game I've played, a place previously held only by Medal of Honor: Spearhead.

The lasting value of the game is very clearly in the multiplayer, with a small selection of creative and highly entertaining maps with spectacular designs which make it both easy and difficult to win, depending on any factor from quality of your enemies, to your own mood or condition.

Those without multiplayer miss out on a big part of the game, but the single player missions in themself are a highly entertaining part which lasts over a dozen long-winded missions guaranteed to keep you busy for hours. From the streetfighting at Stalingrad, to tank combat in Tunisia, to the visceral, bloody invasion of France and Germany, you play either a Russian Private, a British Lieutenant or a British Sergeant in the 7th Armoured Division, or an American participating in D-Day.

Action happens in a flash, and you can't always tell the difference between friend and foe in the heat of combat, but they are distinctive enough that a moment's hesitation can be the saving grace by which you kill an opponent rather than lose for killing a friend. Depending on difficulty level, you can take more hits than a man should, or be slain easier than sugar in coffee.

For multiplayer, despite the fact that each map has only two sides to be played (German vs American, German vs British, German vs Russian), their weapons are for the most part evenly balanced, or even identical, with a few tweaks and bonuses and extras on each side, which balance out in the end. While the Germans have the best and easiest to handle machine gun, the Americans have the superior sniper rifle scope, and the faster base rifle, or while the Russians have the fastest and most bullet-heavy machine guns, their sniper scopes are actually inferior to German ones, and they lack the snow camoflauge German troops have.

With some of the best graphics, most realistic physics and location damage, and grittiest single player battlefield campaigns, this is certainly one of the best World War II first person shooters yet out there.

Outstanding game!

+Single player campaing is alot of fun!
+Multiplayer is seriously addictive. You will definitely get your money's worth!
-Graphics are not up to par, but at least the game runs at a rock steady 60fps.

Absolutely awesome. A must have FPS and best in series in my opinion.

All I have to say is wow. This game really impresses. The graphics are top notch as well as the sound effects. The fire fights are a pure adrenaline rush, with dirt flying everywhere, bullets zooming over your head, and your ears ringing from that grenade that just went off next to you. Basically, the action is without a better word, stunning. The enemy A.I. is great and rather than acting like perfect killing machines, they act how real people may have acted in similar situations. The atmosphere is great, you can always hear shots begin fired and explosions going off in the background. If you look in the air smoke is every where and there are planes on fire or bombs bursting. You can always hear the Germans screaming for who knows what. The action is a challenge but not so much of one that you stop playing, well except for one level. They made running and crawling seem really realistic, trudging through the dirt to avoid getting blown up is an awesome experience. There is better variety of locations here than you will see in any other WW2 game, and all are well detailed and seem to be exactly how the real thing would have been. There is a decent selection of well detailed guns that all feel great, but I would have liked more I think. The frame rate is very solid as I never had any slowdown or anything. I The vehicles sections are not as good as they could have been and are sometimes boring but I guess its a break from the typical action. The multi player is fairly solid and pretty chaotic, although sometimes it is camper heaven. Bottom Line, you will not find a better WW2 game, and this at least rivals the best of the best of FPS games in other genres as well.
