A week ago I picked up my Xbox 360, and CoD2 wasa must buy after I played the demo last month. This is easily one the most INTENSE games ever. Nothing is scarier than to see the enemy AI outflank and attack you from all sides, with 8-10 German soliders from each or all sides! Not to mention seeing numerous German AI get shot by you or a squadmate, then crawl away and keep shooting back at you.OR having to decide how to take on one or more German machine gun nests, Panzer grenaiders, snipers and mean looking SS officers shouting and shooting their hand pistols at you..all at the same time.

The only minor issue I have is the live play, sometimes the server acts up a bit. But I'm sure this is going to be looked at and fixed. Beyond that, this is indeed on eof the great shooters of ANY platform, and certainly the first great one for the 360.

WHEN YOU GET A 360 buy this game!

All i can say about this game is wow. Its amazing. Ive only played a demo of this game at best buy, and that is the reason why im saving up for a 360. Its amazing! This is the layout of what i played-
It started off in a British Level, in Egypt. As soon as the opening credits were off, it came in on me in a jeep. There was no HUD, which added realism to the game. The graphics were amazing, showing the heat of the desert shimmering, as if in mirrage form. It all seemed calm, but suddenly a plane fight broke out overhead, and the captain in the jeep screamed, 'Get down lads!' As soon as he said it, the ally AI immediately ducked, and a plane was shot down in front of us. Mind you, this was only ten seconds into the game. Finally, we made it too a city, where the germans had taken over. Instantly upon entering the city, enemies started to open fire on me and my squad. I had to scramble around, slowly picking off enemies and fire. IT Was AMAZING!
But, I wont waste your time with the ENTIRE time i played.

Graphics: 5 out of 5. Amazingly realistic, like watching dogfights in the air, and the reactions on your allies faces.

AI- 5 out of 5. Absolutely incredible. The enemies will jump behind cover, direct THEIR allies, dogde grenades, and will get to certain positions, like sniping posistions, to flank you. Also, you'll never play the same level twice. I played the level once, and did good. However, i played it a second time, and the enemy split up, and took me out MANY TIMES. Its great to have a challenge.

Story- 4 out of 5. I cant give a full review on story, because i only played one level of the game. But for the talking and stuff, i got the gist of it.

Playability- 5 out of 5. Ive played this same level about 8 different times and it still hasnt worn out. For a kid who doesnt have Xbox Live, this is pretty good.

Im going to definetely buy a 360 [when its actually available again!!!!!!] so i can buy this, and halo 3. anyway, CALL OF DUTY 2 is one of the best games ive ever played, and i only played one out of like 30 levels. BUY WHEN YOU CAN!!!!!

Its Fantastic

Let me put it to you this way. First watch Saving Private Ryan then play this game....its the same freakin' thing!!! One of the top 5 games of all time. Next to Madden, GTA, Tecmo Bowl, Doom, and Mario Bros.

Graphics are amazing...from the sand in the desert to the snow coming down in Russia. The sound also puts you in the game!! And the best part about it is this...once you beat it you'll want to go back and play it again. Ove 30 levels and each level can take you up to 30-40 minutes (depending on difficulty and how precise you wanna be). On a scale from 1-10 this game is a 12.

COD2 is packed with awesome WW2 action..

Call of Duty 2 puts you in the role of three different people - Vasili, John Davis, and Bill Taylor - during three highly intense but different WW2 campaigns.

You see the war through each of these soldiers eyes, so in otherwords, its a first person shooter. Anyway, you get a lot of authentic WW2 weapons which include Panzershreks, MP40s, M1 Garands, Thompsons, etc and you get to shoot and blow up things like Halftracks and Tiger Tanks. Ontop of that, you get smoke & frag grenades to toss around at will. There is a multiplayer which is pretty fun - you pick a team (ie: British, Nazis, Americans..you get it) and go toe to toe with a friend or friends in random places that has WW2 history.

The objectives in each level sually require you to either clear out houses room by room, snipe out mortar teams, fend off a massive German counterattack, or place a bomb on something. Its pretty fun and intense because you'll be fighting off wave after wave of Nazis and artillery while trying to achieve your goal, but it becomes sorta repetitive during the later levels..

I want to stress the word "intense" on this game. You will always be on your toes, always firing at hordes of enemies. This game isn't easy, even on the easy difficulty, and is ridiculously hard on the Veteran difficulty. The hardest in my opinion is the American campaign during the battle of Point Du Heuc... if you think Medal of Honor: Frontline's Arnhem Knights level is difficult, wait till you see this. Also, this game is pretty long so don't try rushing it hah.

Moving on, you'll be fighting in very detailed and wartorn areas such as Egypt, France, Russia, and even Germany. I was impressed with the beautiful looking enviroments when up close, and the character models look amazing. However, the levels feel kind of linear. You are pretty limited as to where you can go, but I guess we can look past that.

The sound effects were great - I really loved the explosions. The voice acting was great, and actually helpful because your allies would be like "Kraut on the 2nd floor, black building" and basically point out enemies to you.

What lowered this game from being a 9? Well for starters its in a genre that has been basically played to death. Ontop of that the guns weren't very accurate nor did some of them seem very powerful. I felt ripped off when I shot a guy with the BAR and he just sort of kelled over, got up and shot me again. Meh. Also, like I mentioned, the objectives started to get repetitive.

The ending was kind of a rip off at first - a simple news reel explaining how the Allies won - but once the credits roll, the real ending begins. It shows a bunch of troops battling it out in some destroyed city againt tanks, nazis, and airplanes. It was like watching a movie.

To sum it all up, if you got an X-Box 360 then you need to play this game. It isn't the best in my opinion, but it sure is a lot of fun. Go buy it.

Amazing game... couldn't put it down!

this game kind of chugs along. a fun ww2 shooter, nothing special but well done. until you get to the ranger missions at the end, where everything is totally crazy and you are swamped by germans everywhere. overall a good shooter, but not as good as ghost recon or gears of war.

Immersive and very, very intense.

So far, I've only played and beaten single player of Call of Duty 2 but I can safely say it is an amazing game. From start to finish, COD2 hooked me with terrific action and a mix of scripted events with "sorta choose your own path". The first American mission was my favorite, scaling the cliffs of Pointe Du Hoc was extremely intense. The plot is sorta thin, you play as different soldiers in the Russian, British, and American armies in different theaters of the war. The graphics are wonderful and I have an SDTV! It must be amazing in HD. The level of detail (check out the smoke grenades) in the game is truly a sight to behold. If you love history like me, do yourself a favor and pick this up. It's cheaper than Call of Duty 3 and in my opinion, a much better game.

Great Singleplayer, but on live it's way too iffy

First of all, this game has great graphics, gameplay, etc, everything about the game play is perfect. The single player missions are intense, so if you like single player, get this game.

THE BAD: If you've played this game on Xbox Live then you know about the problems. The cod2 lobby is a joke, you can't pick your own maps, can't have friends only play, and the lag is terrible. Up to 8 players? Yea right, anything over 5 or 6 will lag every single time. Not small lag either, I'm talking about lag that tosses your player all over the place making it unplayable. I've played 30+ multiplayer games so far and each time we've had 7-8 people in a match, it would always lag and someone would get disconnected. If they could make a patch for this, cod2 would be one of the top games. Please Activision, hear our cries
