Excellent game, and a must have for LOTR fans

This was not my first option to rent when I went to Blockbuster, but I already owned The Two Towers, so I figured it had to be pretty good. I started playing and the graphics are REALLY, REALLY, REALLY good. You can play as nine characters: Frodo, Sam, Aragorn, Legolas, Gimli, Gandalf(!), Merry, Pippin, and Feremir. I have already fully upgraded Legolas and Aragorn to their extent, but it only took me a few days. Also, this is a good game to buy if you like being able to back to levels you have already beaten, and still use the same character. What I mean is, you can do levels as many times as you want! You only need one thing: a partner. Thats right. This game features Co-op or 2 player gaming. You simply choose it on the menu, and you start from the first level in the path of the king. When you move on, you can repeat the levels with the same characters! I upgraded Aragorn and Legolas by doing "The Southern Gate" repeatedly with them. Now, in one player, I can get a Perfect on that mission with Legolas. A great buy, and especially good as a gift.

This game is one of the best I'v ever played. I'd give it a 9 out of 10! Unlike the two towers, the return of the kings lets you play as gandolf, sam, and frodo. Each character has it's own specil ability. For example: Gimli can have super strength for a small period of time, sam can cloak himself with the ring for a while. Gandolf is the best character to use.

Pros: Great characters, longer levels, chalenging, and has a multi player.

Cons: Sometimes it's hard to find your character, and you can't jump.

Bottom line: Unless your poor, get this game!

This is the coolest game i've ever bought, the co-op mode makes it really unique. The money is definetely worth it if you're an LOTR fan.

I suck at gaming, so I was challenged by this game and still have not completed it. But if you are a great gamer you will easily breeze through this game.

Graphics:Exellent!

Animation:Perfect. The animations don't make you feel like there aren't any at all, yet the game is not so animated that you feel like you are playing a game based on a walt disney movie.

Game play: The best! The game is divided into three paths: Path of the King, which gives you a choice of three characters to play as: Aragorn, Legolas, and Gimli.
The Path of the wizard, wich allows you to play as Gandalf.
There is also The Path of the Hobbits, which you may play as Sam (and later Frodo, when you unlock him). There are also hidden characters, which I do not know because I have not unlocked them yet, but I am pretty sure they are Faramir, Pippin, and Merry (There is a chance one of them is Eowyn).

Multiplayer: Okay, once you get around the fact that you must complete the Crack of Doom in single player before you can play any levels other than The Paths of the Dead, The King of the Dead, The Southern Gate, and Pellenor fields.

Altogether, this is a pretty good game, and I reccomend it most to those of medium gaming abilitys.

This game is fun to play, and if you are a lotr fan, you should get it. The fighting is fun for a while, but you just keep fighting the same kinds of orcs, and it gets a little boring. Some parts confused me, because I didn't know what to do, but once I found out what to do this game was a breeze. It was also too short. Having said that, this game does have many great features. The graphics are very good, as well as the music and the character voices. After you beat the game, you get 3 secret characters, and they're fun to play with for a while, and for some reason Pippin is better with a sword than Aragorn.Overall, I gave it 4 stars because it is very fun and addictive, but it was not perfect.

I saw the third lord of the rings and half way into the movie I had to have the game. I hadn't rented the game before I bought it but I loved it. you get to play as Gandalf, Aragorn, Legolas, Gimli, Sam, and Frodo there are three other people you have to unlock. The levels are easy it will take you one hour two finish 4 levels. If your not a fan of the movie you'll still like it, but if your a true fan you'll be playing it none stop. If you liked the Two Towers game you will love this game more.

This game overall is an 8 or 9 and is fairly good quality. Yet, it has some flaws such as not being able to save in alot of places. After u beat the king of the dead, (TAKES A LONG TIME)
You have to escape this avalanche (TAKES A LONG TIME) and if u die during the avalacnche, u have to fight the king again!!!
Also, some levels are really hard even \when set on easy, and there's even one level just like the ladder level of helm's deep. You have to push down ladders without letting the uruk-hai overrun. (SOUND FAMILIAR)
Anyway, it's fun other than those, and by changing a few things around it would've gotten 5/5, but i'll stick with 4/5- 80%.

This is a really fun and challenging game. The one problem i had with 'two towers' was the lack of multi-player mode but that has been fixed and with considerably better graphics too. You can also play the story with many more characters. So basically, the few problems i had with the first game have been taken care of in this one. In one player mode, it can be very tough but it's so much more fun in two player mode anyway. I definately recommend this to anyone who likes action/adventure games.

Ea has made a series of great Lothr games, but this is by far the best. You can be gandalf, aragorn,legolas,gimli,and sam in the beginning.Once you get to the Crack of Doom[last level] you can be Frodo. Once you beat the crack of doom you can do any level with any character. You also get, as a secret character, merry, pippen, and faramir. The return of the king also has enhanced co-op mode. IN this mode you can play with 2 players. There are three paths which you can be different Characters. 1 path is path of the wizard[gandalf]. 2nd is path of the hobbits[Sam and Frodo]. Third is path of the king[legolas,aragorn,gimli]. With gandalf you defeat isengared,battle ant minas tirith and make a last stand at the black gate. With aragorn,legolas, and gimli you go through the paths of the dead, gondor's southern gate,pelenor fields, and once again, make a last stand at the black gate. In the paths of the hobitts, u escape from osgiliath, duel shelob and her spawns, save Mr.Frodo at cirith ungol, and take the final test at mt.doom[onodruien]where you battle gollum for the fate of middle-earth. Each level is packed with orc slaughter. You don't have to be a mastermind to beat this game, but this is definetely one of the best games ea has ever made.
[1-5 5 being the best, 1 being the worst]

Though this game doesn't take the most strategy, it is just hard-core fun.

I like the game.There are many hard levles but I think it is still great.the graphics are bad people can't even talk.I enjoy two players with my friends and on the net.If you like action and adventure get this .people who don't have great experience on this game do not worry, it is a great time to learn...
