since the hit of tekken tag ,tekken 4 was the only
game standing out.
now soulcalibur2 is out unlike tekken series it
has inventory of weapons to buy. and weapon power is
now a big factor, so be ready...
soulcalibur2 supports progressive scan,(you need at least
480p compatable component connection.) like tekken4.
the ultimate fighting game

Let me start by saying that it's predecessor is an amazing game. The new version boast new and cool improvements. First of all there will be three exclusive warriors, Link, Spawn and Hiehachi for Gamecube, Xbox and PS2 respectively. I've seen this game already and the gameplay mechanics are off the chains but the real fun is the weapons master mode. You can get up to 200 weapons and these can be used in vs mode. The mechanics have been tweaked to ensure that all figters are equally matched and it moves just a bit faster than soul calibur. Graphics are good and the nice selection of fighters is good. If you've mastered soul calibur, part 2 wouldn't be hard to get adjusted to but it's amazing to see what namco has done to make this game so good. It's better than i expected and i recommend that you buy this game, I know i will

This game is awesome.Move over Mortal Kombat. Not only can you fight your friends but it has a story mode too. On the Gamecube Version you can play as Link from Zelda. You can make your enemy fly over a cliff. You have weapons all the time and basically kill enemys. I've played at a arcade. Nightmare is my favorite. My other information came from Extended Play. On Tech Tv(75)on cable. On at 3:00 every weekday.
The best fighting game ever?

I played the demo & read many articles on it. One mag called it chess with swords meaning it's very strategic. Knowing each fighters strength & weakness play a major role in the game. The Graphics & character models are top notch along with the stages & backgrounds. I have yet to find a flaw with this game. I'm glad game makers are finally going in depth in fighting games. It's a breath of fresh air. Usually, after beating all the opponents & bosses, thats it. The replay value is moderate at best. But when you have weapon modes, (Unlocking 200 weapons) career mode, & many more modes, will have you playing for a long time. Unlockables include numerous fighters & stages. 21 fighters in all. If you are a fight fan this game is a must..
Soul Calibur II could be the best fighting game ever...

Soul Calibur II is looking really amazing. Some people are even saying that it could be the best fighting game ever...And yeah,it might be because this is going to be a big improvement over the original popular Soul Calibur. The original Soul Calibur was released on Dreamcast and in the arcades. To tell you the truth,I have never played the original Soul Calibur, but people who have played it said it was one of the greatest fighting games of all time.
Soul Calibur II is a weapon based fighting game. The awesome weapons make it very unique and exciting. You should be able to unlock new weapons throughout the game. This is a 3D fighting game.Their are a few new charectors that weren't in the original Soul Caliburm, too so that is nothing but good.
Soul Calibur II's graphics look like some of the best PS2 has ever seen. Some of the levels have backgrounds that are based on real life locations in places of the world like Japan. The charectors have a good amount of detail, too. So this is also a very good looking game.
Each version of Soul Calibur II also has a exclusive charector to it.The PS2 version of Soul Calibur II has Heiachi from the Tekken games(The Xbox version has Spawn and the Gamecube version has Link from the Zelda games).Tekken fans might be happy that hes returning.
Expect alot from Soul Calibur II,and get it when it releases.Namco has made some of the best 3D fighters in the past, including Tekken,Soul Bade and the original Soul Calibur,so they can't possibly mess this one up(since Soul Calibur II has recieved alot of possitive feedback and reviews from the Japan, where it was released earlier this year). This will be a must buy.

this game is one of the best fighting games i've ever seen. i've played this at the arcade and thought it was amazing. the graphics are so good and the fighting moves are very well done. my favorite thing about this game that makes it unique is that every character yields some sort of weapon. i don't know how the playstation 2 version is going to be like since they are adding a couple of new features and a new character. the new character is going to be heihachi from tekken. i don't really know how he's going to fight since he doesn't have a weapon...????...he has wristguards...well, that doesn't matter. soul calibur 2 is a great game and i can't wait for it to come out on the PS2.
***just a note: for the gamecube version the new character will be LINK from the legend of zelda and for the X-box, the new character will be SPAWN.***
A Master piece of art.

I bought this game in Japan a couple of months ago, and today I'm still playing it every night with my girlfriend (and she used to dislike fighting games). I've passed complete weekends gathered with friends. The characters have plenty of movements, so far I haven't bring under control all of them, and believe me I've practice. Changing weapons make the things even more interesting, there are weapons that give you health and some others that may damage you, you have to find which is the best weapon to the character you are using. Graphics awesome, speed movement -> amazing. Plus you'll have surprises which I'll not comment of course, finally the "Weapon Master" mode, currently I'm level 78 of 99. The Story is just amazing, but I could keep myself writing forever so, in summary, you MUST BUY this one. Oh yeah! Finally I'll have it in English. (Though I'm used to the Japanese version).
This game is the master of fighting

Soul Calibur 2 is going to be released on August 29th, 2003, and I cannot wait. I have played this at several game stores and arcades, and boy was I surprised. I played Soul Calibur for the Dreamcast and thought it was awesome, so when I heard about Sould Calibur 2 for PS2, Gamecube, and X-Box I screamed like a little girl. I think this game is a great game with completely astounding graphics, great gameplay, and cool and original characters. My favorite character is Cassandra, who is exactly like Sophia from Soul Calibur. Taki is also a great character. I cannot wait one more minute for this brand new and original video game. If you haven't played it in arcades yet, don't waste a minute.

I have no doubt that this will be one of the greatest fighting games ever, but a few problems hit the snag on the PS2. The graphics are supposedly the worst, being jagged and slow, and the extra character, Heheichi or whatever his name is, is completely lame. I want Spawn and Link (the two extra characters from GC and XBOX), not to mention them together on the same game, so I think it was a big mistake of Namco to actually let them do that. Sure, it brings incentive to buy all three editions, but seriously, what happens to the people who only have a PS2? It's a major letdown, and it brings me to the point of waiting until it's a Greatest Hit, or at least it drops to a twenty dollar game. I have rated it a five because I have no idea how it's going to turn out in many areas, but from the hype of everybody, it seems to be pretty good.
