Alot of great stylus usage for this game!!

I am an adult gamer...I haven't really played the previous Kirby games on the GBA but I am familiar with Kirby in general so I got myself Kirby Canvas Curse and was skeptical.

Boy was I wrong! It's an excellent game! You really do use the stylus ALLL the time! I love it! It took me about 3 weeks to beat the game...almost. I've beat it 99.7 percent. I just needed one more medal at the cart run part to be 100 percent complete but the cart run is almost impossible for me to win so I've settled on 99.7 percent since I won everything else.

The game is sure alot of fun with alot of variety of things to do. There's a regular game where you try to get all the medals in all the levels. Then there is another set of game where you have to hurry to beat the time to get medals and another to use less ink as possible to get medals. Such fun! It's not that easy nor too hard. There are some levels where you have to keep trying over and over but I had fun trying.

Now that I've beat it, I've moved onto Kirby Squeak Squad and I feel weird. It's totally different. Kirby Squeak Squad has no stylus use at all which I wasn't used to after Kirby Canvas Curse but after understanding the game and playing a bit I got into it and am loving it as well.

Kirby Canvas Curse and Kirby Squeak Squad are both excellent games in their own right. Hope they come out with more Kirby games in the future.

Now begins the true DS fun!

First of all, I must start by saying that this game is not as easy as it looks, nor is it too difficult that you'll get frustrated. It just has a sweet blend of length, difficulty, and replay-ablity. This game can be easily beaten in a mere day, but you'll miss out on the true experience. It's easy to draw a few lines and tap Kirby a few times and make it to the end, but in each level, there are hidden medals that are well off the main course. You can use these in medal swap to unlock songs, line types and other bonuses for Kirby. As the game progresses, getting to these medals gets tougher.

Also, enemies littering each level aren't the only thing you have to worry about. You have to take notice of how much ink you have, your vitality, and sometimes rising lava, winds, pits, and automatic scrolling.

The game gets really tough XD

There's a lot here to fool around with including a few minigames. I consider this a total must-get for all DS owners who feel neglected by lack of fun titles. If you don't buy this game, at least rent it and play around with it. You won't regret it.

Kirby's back, and rolling!

I found Kirby Canvas Curse fun, fun, and more fun.

The gameplay is as always, easy, but still chalenging.

The idea of using only the stylis in this game is great, because you can become used to the touch screen.

There is a new feature: Rainbow Run. In Rainbow Run, you can play already beaten levels with a new twist: you have to beat them using a limited amount of ink, or in a time limit.

By earning metals in rainbow run, and the regular game, you can unlock different color lines, rainbow run levels, and more.

There is only one boss in the game (not counting the mini game bosses), Dracia. She is really tough to beat, but once you do beat her, you get a very happy surprise. (im not telling you what it is, buy the game and find out)

The background artwork is colorful, and the music is catchy (mostly remixes of Kirby Nightmare in Dreamland music). Together they create an atmospere that matches the level, and the enimies.

Overall, i rate this game a 100/10 for originality, quality, funess, and Kirbyness!

Kirby is back!

This is the best game for the Nintendo DS so far. It is a game that is challenging, addictive, and simply fun just like the rest of the Kirby platformers.

With the touch of your stylus, you take Kirby the pink ball rolling on your rainbow path, defeating bad guys by touching them, and copying abilities from those bad guys.(For ex, a wheel, fire ball, a balloon.) In each 8 worlds there is 3 levels and in those levels you must collect 3 red coins for the medal swap option. (The medal swap option enables you to unlock songs, health and others.)

After you finish the game there is also a rainbow run you can finish in each level for time trials, or ink trials (using the least ink as possible.) And for beating these you get more medals for the medal swap. There is also subgames to beat.

Overall, this game is fantastic, super, and amazing. With such a simple game, it is one of the funnest. Go Nintendo!

It's pink, it's fun, it's Kirby!

This is a great game. Basically you control Kirby, who was turned into a ball by an evil witch. Kirby will roll on his own, and you need to draw rainbow paths with your stylus to keep him on the right path, and away from trouble. You can either touch an enemy to stun them, and then have Kirby demolish them by running into them, or you can tap Kirby to make him speed up really fast, and destroy enemies at light speed, or you can tap Kirby when he has an enimies powers to use those powers to destroy enemies. You will be tapping blocks, scribbling up a strom of pathways, and be tapping Kirby, and enimies in this fun filled adventure. You also can unlock a bunch of mini games, and special ink colors, characters, life boosts, and music to use or listen to in the game. The only problem is that it's pretty short, but it does have a pretty good replay value, and don't forget about the mini games. Don't let the childish look of Kirby fool you, this is a game for all ages. This is a great game, and I would recomend it to anyone.

A terrific idea for a game, lots to do, a little frustrating...

This seems like one of the first games for the DS that gets it pretty much right. It's a well thought out game, with a lot to it. You use the stylus to draw paths to get Kirby through all kinds of levels, picking up stars along the way. You make Kirby go faster by poking him, and by making twirls in the path, and you can pick up the abilities of enemies, as in other Kirby games. There are medals in each level which are harder to get than what you would have to do just to get through the levels, and these can be used to unlock mini games and special features, like different colored ink to color the lines you draw. When you have completed a level, you can go back and do it again as a race, or as a contest to use very little "ink". It's a lot of fun figuring out each level, and the boss stages are GREAT---they are quite different than the regular game, and feature things like a breakout type game, a memory game and a connect the dots game!

My only comment is that the game gets hard very fast for the average gamer. My son is quite good at most video games, but he gave up on this one rather quickly as he just couldn't advance. There are times you have to draw something exactly right with split second timing, and if you don't, you don't go on. I kept trucking away but still eventually gave up on getting further, even though I devoted some time to the game. It's great for a game to be challenging, but it's also nice if you can get somewhere with some work!

Don't let that discourage you from buying this if you are looking for a good DS game, however. There are NOT that many good DS games out there, and I think this is one you will be playing for a long time to come---there is so much to unlock, such variety in the ways the levels can be played, and it's a lot of fun to look at, too!

VERY FUN

This game is really fun. If you enjoyed the other kirby games you'll definitly like this one. You can unlock a bunch of cool things in the TRADE IN MEDALS section. I'm having a lot of fun playing this game and I can't put it down.

it's a great game

Well sonic is a little too challenging for me, and gets frustrating at times, kirby on the other hand is great. It's not so hard that you want to throw your DS out the window. It is definitely not that easy either, especially in the later stages. But I like it because I can actually play this and get through many levels and enjoy it without the frustration. The DS version is great and very unique as you control Kirby with your stylus. Overall, high replay value, worth the money.

This is the best game on the DS. Amazing games like this can't be done on the other gaming (and I use that term loosely) system.

The gameplay is very amazing. The graphics are top notch. This should last you about 20-30 hours, which is great.

addictive, fun, but a little too short

this game has good graphics, it has fun gameplay, great bosses, and uses the touch screen a lot. In kirby canvas curse, kirby is sent to a different dimension... i think. You being the player finds a magical paintbrush and you aid kirby to go back to dreamland. This game has two modes in which to play on: main game which you go through the story as kirby or 3 other characters, or rainbow run. There are 8 worlds to go through, each world having 3 levels. At some points the game may get frustrating but overall it is a great game.
