Graphics S-U-C-K. Multiplayer engine, Steam, has more security flaws than you should ever want, and I am sick of having to reregister with them.

in june 2001 i got my DSL, and after beating halflife i really enjoyed shooting the soldiers with the machine gun. So eventually I tried the Multiplayer and enjoyed trying to connect. Then I downloaded Counterstrike and throughly enjoyed it for 5 months. Its amazing how fast computers have gotten. In 2001 it was a pain in the backside to connect to a good game. Now its easy as hay. Counterstrike, is in my opinion finished and only diehard fans will play it. Newer games are like 10 times better in the audio/video dept. So there you have it!
With a Re-think, it is a very playable and fun game.

I am a computer game snob. Very few games make my A list. For instance: Mech Mercenaries when it came out was an A list game, Mech Warrior 4 was not even a B list game when it came out. It's graphics were OK for the available technology, and the game play offered nothing new. (not really)
For me a game must have first rate graphics, probably my number one focus. Next, it must be challenging, I should not be able to walk through it in a day. If I'm cussing the Monitor and pulling my hair out, then it's on it's way to the A list. Lastly, it must take me on an adventure. Mindlessly running through the same things (Monsters, Puzzels, Races) over and over only faster each time, is not a fun game. I should feel a progression from one level to the next towards a destination. So with that criteria here is how I break out Counter Strike: Condition Zero.
The game is your character is a Covert OP soldier/cop, he is leader of a team of commandos. As you complete missions you receive Reputation Points. These points can be redeemed to "Buy" better NPCs for your team. The maps are very nice, run smoothly, no noticable glitches. (We'll come back to them in a second). The terrorist are very good, and play very well against you, acting every bit as a coordinated team.
1. Graphics were good, but nothing to write home about.
2. Game play, pretty much the same two missions, save hostages or prevent a bomb from being blown up.
3. With the given scenarios, there isn't really much of a destination to go towards.
So this game probably would have rated a C on my list, but..... The NPC Terrorist played very well against me, acting like a team I would go against on the internet during death matches. DING DING DING. Oh I see said the blind man, this game is basically a death match. I was originally very concered that this game lacked the bells and whistles of Rogue Spear and Rainbow Six. This game is a Death Match. The save hostages and Stop Bombs is besides the point. With that frame of mind, then this game is VERY VERY good. If you like to run around and hunt the other player while he hunts you. Then this game rocks!! The maps offer all sorts of great places to stage ambushes, snipe the enemy, or bottle neck a larger force. Yeah Yeah you're supposed to play this game online against real people, and I'm sure it's very good for that, but if for whatever reason (You're on restriction, Your internet is cut off, or Your significant other is using the phone line) then you can play a very good death match against the machine. And don't worry, they win plenty and they do it honestly. This game is at least a B- and I reccomend this game.
AMMENDMENT 1: After writing this review I clicked on the icon for something called "Deleted Scenes". Thinking this was some sort of extra levels. It was actually a group of scenarios in which you are a member of a team of special operatives. The scenarios take you to various countries where you act as a member of that countries special Police/commando forces. Again it was the Stop the bomb/ rescue hostage scenario, but each level had a small story line. It was nice, but I give "Deleted Scenes" a C. There is no way to control your team members, you must make do with the weapons and team your given, and there is no overview map. Rogue Spear and Rainbow six act like a real military mission in that you are allowed to plan your assualt, "Deleted Scenes does not give you that option. Overall I still recommend this game based mainly on the "Death Match" aspect of the game.

This game is what I expected and more... The graphics have been tripled from 240 polygons to 720. The chracters look so real. The weapon models are amzing and the accuracy and power of the guns is realistic. The skins must be replaced with the new versions that can be found online. The single player verison of the game includes 12 explosive single-player mission with amazing AI and bot support. They are a perfect substitute for human players, sometimes even better. My friends can't even tell if I'm online or not. That's how good this game is. I would buy it soon...GREAT GAME!
argg, when will this end?

dont bother folks, wait for battlefield vietnam or something else like Splinter Cell 2, but not this one, buy it for the xbox, thts prolly the best advise. i hate to admit this is quite embarrassing! Sierra not only delayed it once or twice, but three times!! its not worthy of waiting tht long for a game that well all get bored of in a few minutes perhaps. im sure after all this excitement, well end up having a poor gameplay and more delayed release dates. Gearbox and Sierra are caring more of their profit than the satisfaction of consumer's wants, how odd! well, march is a good ole month since bf vietnam, driver 3, splinter cell 2 and half life 2 are all coming out, however, if cs c0 doesnt show up then, then not ever! its been one yr already as we keep hearing promises of the game being released and wat do we get???!??? more delays, how sad! this game brought intense expectations, new features, single-player modes, cheat-free servers, and after all this hard work, we get ditched off like always, well good going guyz, i dont blame poor ole amazon, even they got cheated!
awsome

Why does every cool game have to be pushed back like this? They are treating us, the loyal gamer, like a mule with a carrot and stick. They hold out this game, just a little further now, just a little further. As if demand weren't already high enough for it. This had better be worth it or im going to get a class action suit against sierra together.
A serious word about CS:CZ

Graphics: They're much better than in CS 1.6, and they can be compared to Half-Life 2 graphics.
IA: An IA that is just like human. Bots hear like humans, see like humans and don't do same way all the time.
Sound: You can live a sound expirience that you will never forget. The sound's depth in closed places it's real.
If you want to know mor... wait for the game release.
