Strengths, Weaknesses and Summary

5 Rating: 5, Useful: 0 / 0

Strengths: Counter-Strike, one of the best games that has ever been made on PC, now just think of CZ alone.

Weaknesses: The delay that the producers put on the Counter-Strike, or any other action fans out there.

Summary: CZ is going to be a sweet game. A whole new gameplay has been added to make the game more exciting. First off, there is new characters and new weapons. These items will help make the gameplay more realistic than before. The graphics are much better than the original Counter-Strike. And thee is hope for those 56k users. There is now a campaign mode, no I'm not lying. The campaign mode is supposetly very realistic in it's actions, and there won't be as much lag as there usually is on Counter-Strike servers! This will not put stress on the cable/dsl/t1, etc users that complain about the gameplay. Overall, I'm thinking this is going to be one of the top games of 03'.

This game has amazing single-player with bots that are smarter than any other online members, however, it lacks new features. The only difference from CSZ and CS 1.6 is the fact that the maps are tweaked and the player models look a bit better. If you have an internet connection, and you are satisfied with regular counter-strike, keep it. If you have counter-strike and your internet sucks, download bots such as ShrikeBOT or PodBot. If your internet sucks so bad you can't even download a 500 KB file that contains the bot data, get CSZero, or just buy another game.

i like condition zero probably more than source and 1.6. let me tell you why..source has sweet graphics but game play is alittle off and 1.6 is good but no single player missions. then ontop of that deleted scenes is a sweet game in it's self. so, i like love this version of CS and it's a great buy..i think. DESIRE [2] KILL is the sweetest clan, (my clan).

ok this game is amazingly fun and i could talk about how good it is for hours but dont spend 29.99 on it when u can buy counter strike anthology for 20.00 and it comes with counter strike 1 and counter strike condition zero for 10 dollars less so if your smart you will take my advice and save 10 dollars and get two great games

Condition Zero is so great... I can play this for hours and never get tired of it. The new single-player mode, Deleted Scenes, is much better than the original's single-player, which was just beating requirements in a regular multi-player game. And the online experience is better. The graphics have greatly improved, and I find that there aren't as many problems with the servers. A great improvement from original Counter-Strike, and I say it's the best first-person shooter game on the PC.

deleted scenes excellent,the rest sucks

the deleted scenes were a huge improvement over the original counterstrike.why couldn't they make the rest of the game like that?in the online version, or regular single or multiplayer mode, the characters move like robots.very fake-like.when you shoot them, they do the same stupid thing, hang there for a minute and fall down.the original version is much more lifelike, the reason i loved this game in the first place.plus there is no way to search for a local sever in "steam". so you can't play on a computer to computer network.had high expectations and was really let down.

With a Re-think, it is a very playable and fun game.

I am a computer game snob. Very few games make my A list. For instance: Mech Mercenaries when it came out was an A list game, Mech Warrior 4 was not even a B list game when it came out. It's graphics were OK for the available technology, and the game play offered nothing new. (not really)
For me a game must have first rate graphics, probably my number one focus. Next, it must be challenging, I should not be able to walk through it in a day. If I'm cussing the Monitor and pulling my hair out, then it's on it's way to the A list. Lastly, it must take me on an adventure. Mindlessly running through the same things (Monsters, Puzzels, Races) over and over only faster each time, is not a fun game. I should feel a progression from one level to the next towards a destination. So with that criteria here is how I break out Counter Strike: Condition Zero.
The game is your character is a Covert OP soldier/cop, he is leader of a team of commandos. As you complete missions you receive Reputation Points. These points can be redeemed to "Buy" better NPCs for your team. The maps are very nice, run smoothly, no noticable glitches. (We'll come back to them in a second). The terrorist are very good, and play very well against you, acting every bit as a coordinated team.
1. Graphics were good, but nothing to write home about.
2. Game play, pretty much the same two missions, save hostages or prevent a bomb from being blown up.
3. With the given scenarios, there isn't really much of a destination to go towards.
So this game probably would have rated a C on my list, but..... The NPC Terrorist played very well against me, acting like a team I would go against on the internet during death matches. DING DING DING. Oh I see said the blind man, this game is basically a death match. I was originally very concered that this game lacked the bells and whistles of Rogue Spear and Rainbow Six. This game is a Death Match. The save hostages and Stop Bombs is besides the point. With that frame of mind, then this game is VERY VERY good. If you like to run around and hunt the other player while he hunts you. Then this game rocks!! The maps offer all sorts of great places to stage ambushes, snipe the enemy, or bottle neck a larger force. Yeah Yeah you're supposed to play this game online against real people, and I'm sure it's very good for that, but if for whatever reason (You're on restriction, Your internet is cut off, or Your significant other is using the phone line) then you can play a very good death match against the machine. And don't worry, they win plenty and they do it honestly. This game is at least a B- and I reccomend this game.
AMMENDMENT 1: After writing this review I clicked on the icon for something called "Deleted Scenes". Thinking this was some sort of extra levels. It was actually a group of scenarios in which you are a member of a team of special operatives. The scenarios take you to various countries where you act as a member of that countries special Police/commando forces. Again it was the Stop the bomb/ rescue hostage scenario, but each level had a small story line. It was nice, but I give "Deleted Scenes" a C. There is no way to control your team members, you must make do with the weapons and team your given, and there is no overview map. Rogue Spear and Rainbow six act like a real military mission in that you are allowed to plan your assualt, "Deleted Scenes does not give you that option. Overall I still recommend this game based mainly on the "Death Match" aspect of the game.

I used to play CS:Source all the time until I got this. In my opinion, Source is a freebie with HL2 and this is the real deal. I don't care much about graphics, so no complaints here. Besides that I find the people on CZ servers to be altogether friendlier than the n00bs and haxors playing on Source. Long Live CZ, Source is just a pretender to the throne.
