It's a cute concept

Cooking Mama is a game where you basically choose which dish you want to make and take you through the process step by step. You can chop, slice, dice, peel, mold the dough, decorate your plate, etc...

It's a pretty creative concept, but it gets pretty boring if you play too much at once. It's fun if you play maybe twice a day and seperate the times, because it will get pretty repetitive.

The first few days I played this,it was fantastic. But after a while, the game started to get a little boring. This game have skills that you need to do great on.After a while, you will start noticing that the skills keep repeating. Now that's when it gets boring. But this is a fun game to play.If you do buy it,play it slowly,or you will get boring as I did.

Very Fun

This was the only game my wife wanted for Mother's Day. I bought it hoping it would give her hours of entertainment, but we moved on quickly to another game. It was a little boring; however it was a neat use of the touch screen that the DS is famous for.

OMG! BEST GAME EVER!

Sorry for the dumb title, I couldn't think of anything.

Cooking Mama is a nifty little game that I think would have been picked up as a production project by almost any other company had Majesco not done it. Unlike Nintendo though, Majesco is a much smaller company, so I understand their need to cash in on their Best of E3 2006 winner, although I was extremely disappointed that after an initial limited release, Majesco opened its floodgates and released it on a mass scale.

I think the value of the game would have jumped significantly had it done so, and could have opened more opportunities to a successful sequel (although I highly anticipate a sequel coming). Nintendo can afford to do limited releases, as they've done with titles like WarioWare and Electroplankton.

In short though, Cooking Mama is like Juicy Fruit; it's good for a little, then it gets stale rather quickly. It's extremely redundant, and the recipes available aren't very diverse. But who knows, maybe they're saving the recipes for a sequel, and maybe new ones surfaced in the Wii version.

There was a surgeon game, and lawyer game, detective games... who didn't see a cooking one coming for the touch screen? It seemed like an obvious choice. Cooking Mama's gameplay and layout is really well done in my opinion, especially for being the first of its kind, and in that sense, I think it lends itself as quite a pleasant surprise. It's a great title to own, plenty of fun in the beginning, then a nice shelf filler or collection filler for the future. Maybe the amount of Cooking Mama's will decrease in the future. I see almost none in EB Games / GameStops, but they're still spread out all over Best Buys and Circuit Cities, not to mention the internet. It's a nice $19.99 and hasn't deviated from that price much.

Good title, kids and adults alike.

My mom got this game for me. I liked it except for my mom said it will rot my brains. I said she's an old hag with ugly feet. Because this game is a best seller in most places, ok? It's funny when you do badly on it and give everyone the farts! When you do good everyone is happy! I wish there were some guns in it though because the girl is annyoing and I wish she could be died!

Different but fun

It is a fun and interesting game, but some of the techniques with the stylus where a little hard to master. Practice makes perfect. To me, it is worth a try.

Repetitive, but still good fun

Gameplay get a bits repetitive after a while, but it's still pretty fun. Some parts of this game are actually quite challenging.

Fun at first but...

Once you beaten the game, there's not much else to do but go back and do everything over. It's not much of a challenge after you get the hang of it.
