I luv this game sooo much!!! You can catch bugs, slingshot presents, fish, grow trees, and water plants. You have 5 important items you should have at all times:A net:you can catch bugs, also if someone is being mean to you you can hit them with a net(but make sure you are not too close otherwise you will end up talking to them, A fishing pole to catch a fish, a timer to time how many fish or bugs you can catch in a certain amount of time also you can have other friends over to and have a bug or fishing competion,a watering can to water your flowers,a shovel for digging up fossils, giroids, burying plants, and money - go to a rock and dig 3 holes around you near the rock then hit it , you might find money(I have no idea how much money you can get), you can also get a gold shovel - for this you need 2 shovels bury one and then 24hrs later dig it up, you will have a gold shovel.Use that gold shovel to make money trees- you need the gold shovel, and a bag of money, bury your money in a hole with the golden shovel then water it, soon it will be a money tree!! Although this game is simple and cutesy it has a gentle charm to it. I never spend more than 10-15 minutes at a time playing it but have found myself still playing it after several months. It's nice to finish off my lunch hour with 10 minutes fishing, pulling weeds, etc. Also the DS Lite battery seems to live forever if this is your primary game.
Fun but gets kinda old

Animal Crossing is a innovative title created by Nintendo originally for the Gamecube. It has since been release for the DS, albeit a totally different game with the same basic idea. Animal Crossing is a small world inhabited by many different animals, and many people would consider it similiar to the popular game "The Sims." as a member of the society, you are able to decorate your house, garden, fish, catch bugs, and run errands for neighbors. While many people would think this is boring, it really is fun watching the environment change in correspondance to the real world. If it is dark in real life, it is dark in the game. This adds a cool aspect to the game, which totally changes. Sometimes only certain animals come out at night or during the day. I really enjoyed Animal Crossing, but I did find it to get very boring after a while. You continue to renovate your house but you basically repeat the steps every time. Overall I would recommend this game if you are a fan of the game "The Sims."
Very fun game

Animal Crossing is one of those games that you binge on. When you first get it you will play it for hours and hours, days and days. You'll be at school or at work thinking about it. After a lot of playing though it gets really old, and pretty sudden. I remember still being in my craze one day and then the next, looking at the game and putting it away. Didn't play for a month after that, and then started playing like crazy again. I don't play it very much now though because once you've done everything, that's about it.
What I like the most about this game is that it's just a nice, laid back, cute experience. There are no epic battles to fight, no long lists of items to sort through, no stacks of armor to make... you just run around and make friends, collect furniture for you house, buy clothes for yourself, find bugs / fossils / etc for the museum and more things along those lines. And believe me, it's a LOT funner then it sounds
This game is the best for the DS!

This game is the best game ever! You make up a person and a town. Animals live in your town. You can write letters to them, talk with them, and invite them to see your house! You can also invite up to three people to visit your town with DS to DS wireless play or you can use WiFi connection. You can use the chat feature to chat with your friends. In the game, there's a Raccoon named Tom Nook and you have to work for him in the beginning of the game. It takes about 20 minutes to finish the jobs. In Tom Nook's shop, you can buy furniture, wallpaper, carpeting, stationary to write letters, plants, saplings, and tools. There's a clothing shop, and you can buy clothes, hats, wigs, and umbrellas there. You can also make your own designs, but you have to pay 350 bells, what money is in Animal Crossing: Wild World. My friend has it so sometimes we invite each other to our towns. It's so much fun! It's the best game. You can buy furniture to decorate your house. If you have trouble figuring out this game (like I did) you should buy the guide. This game is the best, so buy it today!

Animal Crossing Wild World brings back everything we loved about the original game, with more options available and some of the frustrating elements removed from game play.
You still can fish, pick fruit, catch bugs, and find furniture to pay for expansions to your house as in the last games. And the basic layout of the game world is pretty much the same.
Improvements were made to the game in that the your character can now be customized with greater ease, allowing for hats, glasses, and even new hairstyles.
Interactions with the villagers have also been improved, as the chance of them repeating now seems to be less, and you can actiualy see the difference of having a greater friendship with them.
Also, there are some new activity's, like flower gardening.
The game can be controlled either with the touch pad or with the button crontrols depending on your preference. I would recommend trying both, to see which is easier.
Overall, I would have to highly recommend this game as one of Nintendo's better works.
Good, but not original

If you have played Animal Crossing on gamecube and are looking for this game to be something different, it really isn't. I bought this game and it is basically the same exact concept. You do the same things (like pay your mortgage off and run around doing errands. It has some differences, such as online play, but the online feature is no good if you can not get a connection.
Somewhat disappointed

I own the original Animal Crossing for the Gamecube system. I really enjoyed the original version. This DS version became very boring within the first few days. The layout of my town sucks. It's much more difficult to earn bells to pay off your house loans. I don't like the changes they've made to the town for example: the town square, Nook's, the tailor shop, traveling to another town, no dump, no Police Station Lost and Found and too many dirt areas (I liked the grass). Some people may enjoy this game...I just can't get into it and am sorry I bought it.
Excellent game!!! Highly recommended!!!

This is the best game ever!!! I am 8 years old and I got this game when I was 5. I have had this game for 3 years I highly recommend it. You can go fishing, bug catching, find fossils, dress up,sell things, get money, gardening(planting flowers and trees),writing letters to nieghbors, talking to nieghbors, ect. While you are roaming around animal crossing you will meet new friends such as buck, snake, goldy, cheif, ect.I recommend this game with the book.I have learned alot from it, well before I got the book I did not know how to fish and I learned how because of the book.I have found out how to make money trees, get a golden shovel,a golden axe stuff like that. You can save money and budget to pay off your mortgage, sell your home, and purchase another, larger one in any town of your making, that you can also name. You can get fruit from trees you can eat the fruit you pick, sell it,plant it to make trees. All the fossils, fish, and bugs you catch you can donate to the museum or you can sell them or you can even keep them in your house but make sure you don`t have to much stuff or your floor will give out.If your floor is going to give out it will tell you so it doesn`t happen. If it tells you that it is going to happen you can start saveiing money and then you can pay off your morgage and get a bigger house then you can put more stuff in your house. My brother (age 3) and my sister (age 11) both like to play it.
