In its core it's a simple game: move to a new town, get a house, pay your mortgage, buy furniture and decorate your place, buy new clothes, meet some friends. How you so that is basically up to you, since you can get a job at the local shop, make favors to nieghboors, catch insects, fish, find buried treasures, grow fruits... it really sounds like boring, but the game is quite addicting, since you get involved with each person in the town, you can talk to them, send'em letters, do them favors, give/receive gifts.
The game is played in real time to expect different things to do/meet/see/buy in each time of the day, which keeps you coming back for more just to see what's up.
Graphics are not wonderful but get the job done, they're catchy and easy on the eyes, really cute. Sound is basic (no voices, only mumbling) but the songs are memorable, specially KK's tunes (you'll see what I mean).
A game that lasts a lot if you're patient and it's sure to make your girlfriend play it.
New to DS' version is online play (you can visit other towns, collect new fruits, buy new stuff, see new constelations, exchange gifts online) and stylus control (not needed, it's an option only).
A great game, quite different but that's what makes it enjoyable. Recommended!
IT'S FUN, BUT IT GETS BORING FAST

This game is fun, but it gets boring after you get done with work. I like the other ANIMAL CROSSING better.
On this game, I keep making people and deleting people. Over all, I've made 207 different people and did all their work.
Watch out for "Resetti"

"Animal Crossing: Wild World" seems to be an engrossing and highly entertaining game. However, if one forgets to save settings before shutting down the game, a very nasty little character pops up upon restarting. This mole,"Resetti," is VERBALLY ABUSIVE to the player and is very hard to get rid of. There is no excuse for a game to require a child to grovel (typing out things like "I'm an idiot," to choose a pleasant one!) and apologize to a bunch of nasty little pixels. The real world is plenty mean enough. Nintendo should be ashamed of itself for allowing this character to exist.
Too bad to have such a black mark on an otherwise fun and creative game.

I only like playing games on my playstation2 or gamecube. I hate playing on a small screen. But because Animal Crossing is my favorite game, I decided against all my better judgement to buy this. I played it once for 30 minutes, got a headache from the small screen and I've never played it again. I still play my Animal Crossing Gamecube version all the time. I want Animal Crossing wild world on Gamecube, not DS.
I will never again try to play a game on a horribly small screen.
This was a waste of my time and money and brain cells trying to follow the character around with a little pen on a 2x2 inch screen. It's ridiculous.
Bad game, too much hype

A friend of minte told me this game was awesome, and so worth it. I go on here, and it seems all the reviewers believe the same. I get the game (mistake #1). I play it for and hour, then it gets boring. It's already repetitive. This game just isn't worth a cent of it's cost. And, I can't sell the game anywhere for as much as I payed for it. This game sucks, don't get it, if you like even the TEENIEST little bit of fun, this game isn't for you.

My twelve year old son loves this game. There are lots of different things to do and you can even link up with others to play the game together. It has kept him occupied for hours on long car trips this summer.
I don't get it...

I guess I don't understand the rave reviews over this game. I was hooked on it the first few days and then realized how little there is to do. I haven't used the wi-fi aspect of the game, so maybe that's what I'm missing. How much fossil digging, fruit burying, and pointless errand running can you do? Most of the items you collect can't even actually be used. Your neighbors have all the same few personalities regardless of who it is. What's the point? I just don't get it...
Awesome!

This is an awesome game! It rocks because it has new features that werent in the old game. For instance in this game, they have an observatory and a cafe. I got this for christmas and i recommend this for anyone who wants a good game for ds. I also recommened Mario Kart ds and mario and luigi partners in time.
the animal crossing is good review
