Lets start with the single player mode. Not much to say about it except that it picks up where regular COD left off and improved on all the weak points. Music plays at the right time to set mood, vehicles are awesome, maps are awesome.
As for the multiplayer, I've never played anything that can top this, and I've played just about every FPS that comes out. UO has incorporated several new game play types, all of which are awesome. For the first time ever, there is no map or game play mode that I dont like. I just jump in a server and go, dont have to be picky finding one with the right maps and right play types. Get this game, you wont be dissapointed.
Great game... even for an expansion pack!

I love the Call of Duty game. I've played it in single player mode multiple times on most of the different levels, and although it gets easier, I don't really tire of it! When this expansion pack came out I was ecstatic to have something new to play...
This expansion seemed a lot more difficult on the "greenhorn" level than did the original (I found the original game very easy on the "greenhorn" level, but challenging on the next level up). I died MULTIPLE times on the first mission, even on greenhorn, and that's unusual for me personally!
On the other hand, I can't say much else bad about this game! The graphics have improved, the action is better than the original, and there are more combat options. One pet peeve of mine about the original COD is that you were basically told exactly where to go 99% of the time. UO offers more options, and there is rarely a wrong way to do things... though I did push the limits a few times and got a "mission failed: you failed to follow orders." Just testing though!
I would highly recommend this game to anyone who likes first person shooter games. Call of Duty and Medal of Honor are my absolute favorites... and this expansion pack ranks up there with the original, unlike many expansions I've had. Enjoy your gaming!
Good expansion but a little short

This a good expansion pack that any fan of COD will enjoy. The Battle of the bulge was very intense,I had the feeling of getting hit by artillery.Sort of move or die and most foxholes provided not real protection,no chance of the battle letting up.Almost as intense as Omaha beach in Medal of Honor. The British section was a little lame as far as the motorcycle chase but I liked the Guns of Navarone having just seen the movie. The Russian section was wonderful except for the tank driving experience. That was my least favorite part of the first COD,but the Russian part did give the hopeless feeling those trops must have been up against.Be sure to play this great shooter but do remember you have to have the First COD to play this.I glad I kept my copy because it wasn't clear you must have this to play the expansion.
Every bit as good as the original!

This game features three campaigns like the original including two of the greatest battles in World War II, the Battle of the Bulge and the Battle of Kursk. The first level of each battle is absolutely amazing as you have to withstand an all out German offensive! There is also many other cool missions like the Invasion of Sicily, one in a B-17 bomber, and the liberation of Kharkov!!! The environment of this one is every bit as good and intense as Stalingrad in the first Call of Duty.
This game also has a ton of new weapons like a flamethrower, a machine gun that you can transport, a American and German bazooka, and several new semi-auto rifles. The multi-player is also greatly improved with tanks, jeeps, trucks, and new weapons added. This game is a awesome add on to the original Call of Duty do not pass it up!
Adds to one of the best PC games of 2003

When I got the original Call of Duty in early 2004, I played the single-player game through a few times, and it was great. Good graphics, smooth gameplay, and the good selection of guns made it my favorite PC game. The only problem was that the game was too short. After a a few weeks, I tried the online multiplayer game. The well designed maps and polished gameplay amazed me. I continued to play Call of Duty through the summer, and I had high hopes for the expansion pack coming out in October, even though it was being developed by a different studio. When I bought the game soon after it came out, I installed it immediately, but I didn't get to play it until the weekend. I went straight to the multiplayer and I was blown away. Improved graphics, bigger maps, 3 new multiplayer modes, vehicles, and more guns to balance the gameplay were all welcome additions to what was already great. The next day, I played through the single-player. 13 new missions were added to the 26 from the original game and the levels had more variety than Call of Duty. I took a hiatus from the game in December of 2004 after I bought the new Medal of Honor game, but I was soon back for more United Offensive, and it is still my favorite game. The expansion pack perfectly completes the first entry in what is sure to be a great series (Call of Duty 2 comes out fall of 2005).
More of the Original Call of Duty

Just to let you know, I loved the original CoD. CoD United Offensive is basically more of the original with better multiplayer and a couple more weapons. I know that this sounds greedy of me, even though United Offensive was merely an expansion pack, but still, I was expecting a bit more. Still, if you loved the original CoD and are craving for more, get it, otherwise, wait for CoD 2.

I really enjoy the Call of Duty games, all of them are designed well and are enjoyable to play.
In Call of Duty 2 they resurected Capt. Price,in the first Call of Duty game,Capt. Price was killed when he and the player sabotaged the German battleship Tirpitz.
Thats the only thing I didn't like about COD 2.
Great game... especially the online multiplayer.

I know this game is getting old, but that doesn't mean that people are moving on to the latest and greatest version. Even Call of Duty 2 was released a while back, but United Offensive the what people are sticking to... at least until COD 4 is released.
Not as good as the Original but still good!!!

United Offensive is a good Expansion. There is a lot of recycled events that occur in the expansions single player version that did in the original. Also the single player is kind of easy and I have not found it much of a challenge and kind of short. Over all the single player is still fun. What really makes this expansion shine, just like the oringal Call of Duty is the Multiplayer. There are new maps and lots more fun online. The multiplayer is 10 times better then Battlefield 1942. Even though the expansion is not the greatest game it's still worth getting because it's a worthy addition to this great WWII series.
