Good points:
-The graphics are good. The game is generally fun.
-The levels are bigger and more open than in COD 1.
-The long firefights are great.
-The intelligence of the enemies is much better than in the first game. In this one, they are somewhat less predictable, and they move around more, which makes it harder to shoot them.
-I am glad there are no medkits, but unfortunately I don't really like the recovery system this game uses either. Here, when you get shot but not enough to kill you, you just wait a few seconds, and you are magically healed. It would be better if when you got shot it impaired your movement until you died.
Bad points:
-While better than COD 1, the missions in COD 2 are still too choreographed for my taste. It shatters the illusion of realism when, time and again, bad guys pop up for no other reason than becuase you crossed an invisible line in the game. It would be better if the computer placed the bad guys in random places each time you played so you couldn't just learn where they are. Because of this, replayability is very bad (like in the first COD game).
-The game is extremely short. You can finish the entire game very quickly, and if you want to go back to play it again you will be disappointed because there just aren't very many maps here.
-At certain points in the game the Germans seem to have unlimited respawns until you complete some objective, so no matter how many you shoot it doesn't help you at all. Again, this makes it seem unreal.
-The voice acting is not very good, and the things they yell out are very dumb. It is stupid for the characters to constantly yell out "Germans!" in the middle of a long firefight.

-The multiplayer is forgettable. It is just a big free for all. It is so fast-moving that you generally win or lose based on fast reflexes, rather than based on strategy or teamwork. For a much better multiplayer experience in a realistic-type shooter, try Swat 4. I think part of the problem here is that the players simply move too fast. Also the maps are like swiss cheese--too many ways to get from point A to point B, and almost nowhere where you can get effective cover. Also, I don't like multiplayer games where you respawn so quickly. It is better whan a game makes you stay out for a longer time after being killed, since that gives you more of an incentive to be strategic and to actually worry more about dying.

Overall one of the best action games I have ever played. If you love shoot em up games then you will love this one. The graphics are excellent as well as the sound and the action is non-stop.

A few complaints I have that at times the graphics can be rather dark, which make sometimes difficult to see. Also you are mostly on foot, there is limited action in vehicles.

I would absolutely reccommend this game.

Fun, but haven't I done all this before?

Let me start and say that this is a great sequel. It's a fantastic game with an engaging mix of graphics and gameplay. Aesthetically, it's one of the best FPS's in the genre at the moment; from the rich 5.1 sounds to the gritty feel of combat situations, COD2 has it down.

Where it lets me down is just that it feels pretty tired. Sure, these are all new locations, but it's just... old. It's unfortunate to say that because it's really a great game, but I can't stop feeling like I've already done everything before.

AWSOME SINGLE AND MULTI-PLAYER GAME

I started out playing the single player game. I fell in love with it and could not put it down. It took me 11 hours to beat (i did it in one day LOL. I have no life). Then i started playing the Multiplayer mode online. Since that time i have played 113 hours of Multiplayer on some great maps!!

Even Better than COD

Graphics are improved over COD (which were pretty good in thier own right) and it's an action filled game. I recommend that you have a pretty fast system and good video card for this one as it's graphic intense.
There are many improvements over COD including more weapons and the more realistic sound of them firing/reloading.
The game is different in some respects, especially as to health (if you can hide behind cover long enough it is restored and there are NO healthpacks to find). Some people don't care for that but I found that it is a welcome change to this type of game. Also I would recommend getting the 1.5 patch for it from Activision.

This game is probably the best wwII game I've ever played. First of all even on a normal computer it works fine, but if you have a huge graphics card its just amazing. Multiplayer is probably funner than single player, but single player is still very fun. The only thing I say that is bad about this game is on multiplayer servers, people tend to curse a lot, so that may be not good if the person playing this game is under 10. All in all it is a great game, and i reccommend it to anyone who is into FPS.

This is probably the best first person war game I have ever played - Medal of Honor being the second.

Let me put it this way: the game is so intense and realistic, I needed to take a break in between missions to get my head clear. In realtime, you have to think, organize, dodge, plan, run, throw smoke grenades, hide, move on with the squad - I mean - when you have to take a hill - you feel as though you are really there. You get a concept of what our guys went through to capture a town - it's mind blowing. Before you hit "Start Mission", you need to take a deep breath and prepare yourself mentally for it. It's that good.
You need a reasonably high end system for this if you want to experience what I did (AMD 3200XP 256 Video, 1 GB of RAM). I am going to be very sorry when the game ends. One of the best.

Best Evolution of a WWII First Person Shooter

I don't have the fastest gaming machine in the world nor the best graphics card but this product is excellent. The sounds, graphics and "play" are excellent. One feature I really like is not having to go around findng first aid kits to regain health. If injured..rest..catch your breath...then go right back at it. If you get caught out in the open, ooops watch out! I also like the reset feature to return to play. This automatic return to play saves time and keeps up the intensity. Great sim. I wish there was something as detailed for an air to air sim in WWII era.

COD 2 is the best game I've ever played! The graphics are the best I've seen in a computer game. The presentation of the game is very well laid out. The game has actual footage from World War 2. The action is even more intense than in COD 1. The weather effects and sounds are superb. The only couple of problems about the game is you need a powerful PC. My desktop is 3.40 GHZ. It runs smoothly. The game also doesn't have a German campaign. It would be nice to play as the Nazis. The game has a slightly longer campaign than COD 1, but still is a little short and needs improvement. I've been playing the levels over & over again. Otherwise, it's a great game. Enjoy!
