COD2 - The BEST Game ever

5 Rating: 5, Useful: 0 / 2

This game is very accurate and a wonderful source of living history, which is recreated in the game play. I also enjoy the History Channel clips, which add to the realism. A superb game!

Call of Duty II just like one

I think one was better, as in most followups. I finished (on the easiest) in around 10 hours or so. One was more challenging and different.

Reviewer said that if your machine runs the first Call of Duty you'd have no problem with COD2 -WRONG (got "alpha blending" fatal error).......

Still making that ww2 game better huh?

Shredding a little of the stiffness from part 1, call of duty 2 bombasts players throughout it's 3 lengthy scenarios, becoming a little tedious, but overall delivering the most authentic ww2 shooter to date.

Game could make pacifists of us all

If everyone was forced to play this game then only the insane would ever advocate for war or even join the military. I haven't played COD 1 in a while, but from my memory this game blows it out of the water. I didn't buy COD2 before because I wasn't impressed with the demo. Well, that battle was probably the worst one in the bunch along with with one weak tank battle.

This is way harder than COD1 but in a fair and manageable way. There aren't any easy missions like going through a sewer and shooting someone down the hall. Its much, much, more interesting than COD1. Its starts off at with several easy but fun missions and gets more intense as the game progresses, until you hear yourself saying "I ain't going out there, I ain't goin out there!!!!! This is a fun, fun game, very intense.

Fun when it doesn't lock up the system

This game has an annoying tendency to lock up the sytem when it's booting up. Then, using ctrl-alt-del, it's hard to kill. I've tried killing all my running applications and disabling my virus scans before starting this program and it still locks up. I've been able to play it twice and had five unsuccessful starts. This one will soon be relegated to the back of the shelf, never to be seen again, if I can't make it run consistently. When it works, which has been rare, it's a great game.

Boy, This Game is Cool!

I like this game alot.Overall,it got four stars because I would like it if there were more missions.Otherthan that,I like the fact you can play D-Day.The graphics are incredible! The soldiers look like real people so you fill like you are really in the action.I also like the fact that if you run out of ammo, you can use a dead guy's gun. Some guns have alot a firepower, but they run out of ammo to quickly. The guns where you have to recock every time fire, may seem the last weapon you want, but do come in handy with long ranges.Plus, those do alot more damage. It is too bad Call of Duty 3 only comes out for the console.During the British missions,Cpt. Price never dies because the enemy always shoots at you or your conrades.Occasionally he would get hit but he never dies.

Extremely frustrating save system

I would love this game if they would just fix the save system.

I feel I have no control over the game and that I'm not really interacting with this environment because my only goal is find the next save point. I'm not permitted to play out the game how I want to.
In the traditional game saving system, I would have a sense of accomplishment by being able to save whenever I had performed well. This system takes that away. It only saves by my finding a secret save spot. No thrill there at all.

And it wouldn't be so bad if, upon getting killed, I would instantly start the game play again. Instead an extremely annoying philosophical message appears for a number of seconds. They disrupt the flow of the action to the point where I just don't enjoy this game. I have all the expressions memorized at this point. Why the !@%@@ did the designers impose this on us? I would really like to know.

I refuse to buy the other versions of Call of Duty unless I can confirm that these problems are fixed.

Ugh!
