This game [rocks](no, litterally) have you ever wanted to see DK step on Pikachu's tale or watch Mario and Luigi duke it out on their own small level platform? Well here's you game! With Mario, Link, Samus, Pikachu, Yoshi, Donky Kong, Fox, and Kirby and 4 hidden characters, Luigi, Jigglypuff, Ness, and Captin Falcon this game is awesome. Play multi-player with your friends or just practice or play one player and destroy a giagantic hand and save the land of Nintendo Characters. Everybody on my street has this game I help them by telling them how to get the secret characters and stuff. Well, anyway this game is definitly worth taking a look at!

Comical and Chaotic

This has to be one of the best games I have ever played. The whole concept of nintendo characters pounding other nintendo characters into oblivion is interesting, and very fun. The Comical and Chaotic feeling of running around and bashing other players of the field in multyplayer fun. You play as one of twelve characters; four of which must be unlocked. The basic characters are all easy to play with, and relatively popular. They are as follows: Kirby (Kirby), Mario (Mario), Link (Zelda), Samus Aran (Super Metroid), Donkey Kong (Donkey Kong), Fox McCloud (Star Fox), Pikachu (Pokemon), Yoshi (Mario). Most of these should be familiar to the moderate gamer, with the exception of Samus, a popular GB character with Metroid. There are many items in this game that you can collect to boost progress. You can get a light saber type thing, making an adequate weapon for plasy. You can also get a fire flower (Mario Bros), Pokeball (Pokemon), and ray gun (star fox). You can also get a Star Man, making you invincible, and a hammer, letting you smash other opponents out of the match.

The damage and knock out works like this: With each attack landed on an opponent, their damage percentage goes up. The higher the percentage, the farther and faster each player will fly after each hit. Players can fall off the edge of the map, or fly too high and fall into the horizon. In single player mode, you fight computer controlled characters on many different stages. You earn points based on how well you do (ie how fast you defeat all the enemies) and what you do (ie using the same move the whole stage). Eventually you can fight the master hand, boss of the last stage. Once you beat him, you have the opportinity to unlock hidden characters, Luigi (Mario), Jigglypuff(Pokemon), Ness(EarthBound), and Captain Falcon(FZero Racing). You also try for the highest score.

Multiplayer can be more fun. You basically go through a skirmish against 1 to 3 other players, whether controlled by the computer or a human. The items will apply, and you can turn them on or off by playing 50 multiplayer games and unlocking the item switch. After you end the time limit with more points than all other players / if everyone else is out of lives, you get ranked 1st 2nd 3rd or 4th, and the stats of the game are sent into the game stats bank, which you can look over.

You can also practice some of the stages of the game, trying for the best time. If you persist in this, you can unlock luigi. It is always good to get practice.

Overall, this game deserves a more than five stars. It is very fun, and it provides endless entertainment.

An amazing game for its time!

This game is simply amazing, you can't disagree, it is so fun, never repetative because everyday I would invite friends over to my house and we would play for hours and hours. The gameplay is great, if your into Melee it is similar but it takes a while getting use to the controls of the Gamecube. I was a master at this game, I loves it so much, a character I recommend that all beginners should use would be Fox, he is the easiest to use, but he is also very good if you can use him right. Jigglypuff and Ness are not for beginners, but Metronome might be the strongest move in the game. This is a fantastic game, unlock characters, set new records for your vs matches because every match you have goes down into the record column. This is a must have for N64 whether you are 10 or 20! Remember though, play with friends, not by yourself!

Biff!

Super Smash Brothers is a super fun game. You have to beat one player mode under a certain amount of time in in order to get secret characters to use. You also have win this game option to use it. When you are playing four players, you just can't stop playing because just too entertaining. This game is a must buy!

My brother and I rented this game numerous times and in the end finally decided to buy it. It is actually quite fun to play, with many arenas and many of the famous characters from Nintendo. Each character basically has their own arena, and all of the arenas have their advantages and disadvantages. This game is especially recommended as a gift for a child.
What I love about this game is that you can play with as many computers as you want, and they can be against you, or if you want to have fun they can be on your team. You can have timed battles or die from losing lives.
Pros:
1) Fun multiplayer action
2) Computer feature is great---you can set computers skill level
3) Good training level, where you can control many things, and add items and make the computer do things to help you train
4) Just Great!!
Cons:
1) Certain characters are hard to get (like Ness)
2) Less advanced than Super Smash Bros Melee
3) Controls are sometimes difficult
This is a great gift for anyone who is young (especially) and for anyone with a N64.

YOU HAVE GOT TO PLAY THIS!

This game is so fun you have GOT to try it!
A really fun thing about this is that you can be a lot of characters, like the fire ball thrower Mario, the ground shakin' Donkey Kong, the fencer Link, the bounty hunter Samus, the cute dinosaur Yoshi, the high flier Kirby, the gunslinger Fox Mclaud, and the cute pokemon Pikachu. You can also unlock players like Captain Falcon, Jigglypuff, Luigi, and the indestructable Nes. While I was in a Musical production, when we were offstage during most of the play, we played this game a lot. This is a wonderful battle game if I say so myself. This is an excellent party game.It is more fun with some friends. You can be in all of these enchanting places, like Link's castle, Yoshi's world, Kirby's world, and so much more. Play this game with your friends or play a one player but please for your own good play this game!

Ok to rent, not so great to buy.

The game is ok. When I rented it for 5 days, it got boring at the last day. My brother got Jigglypuff using DK. I would rent it before buying it. If you like it, buy it.

Good game to play

This game is cool. I virtually beat up anyone who challenges me to a fight. However, beating the game can get boring.

Yeah, baby

There are 3 super duper must get 64 games: Majora's Mask, Ocarina of Time, and Super Smash Bros.

It's sweet. Play as one of 12 Nintendo characters, 4 of which you must unlock. The characters are marvously balanced out, and no character is too powerful. Also, you can pick up items from the various games the characters are from. Some of these include the Maximum Tomato, Heart, and the light sword. Some of the items, such as the star, homerun bat, and the hammer, are cheap, but you can turn them off. So, what do you do? Basically, you play as Link, Mario, DK, Samus, Yoshi, Kirby, Fox, Pikachu, Captain Falcon, Ness, Jigglypuff, or Luigi, and you beat up you opponent! Also, you play in the various home stages the characters are from, such as Hyrule Castle, or Saffron City. Although the stages are limited, they are each unique. And, single player is pretty easy, and the highest level computers are fairly weak, grab your friends, some extra controllers, and play the best mulitplayer ever for the 64! I'm not kidding! You can be on teams, free for all, have stock, or make timed games, and even play with or against computers! If you're looking for an awesome, awesome, awesome time, this game is a must-have!
