how can anyone come up with such an idea...? This game is az bad az the new PONG ...all U do is playing with a ball left and right ..basically it is JUST like PONG(the first video game ever..remember those two white lines and a sequare) except that Mario is hitting the Ball with a Racket ...in one BORING back ground (well sometimes there is a photo of a character on the ground for excitement)...the only good thing about most SPORT based games was their use of famouse players (aghasi) ...but NINTENDO solved that problem by using Mario and donkey kong instead...and took that little token of Joy from the game...this game is very sad ...and as far as BUYING it goes let me put it this way...If this game came free in the mail it was still too expensive...

Boring after a week.

After the greatly successful N64 game Mario Golf, Camalot Software decided to cook up a new sports title for the year. I had extremely high hopes for Mario Tennis, but in the end it was very disapointing. It's too bad really, because it had all the potential to be an amazing game, but fell flat on its face. It took me a little over five hours to complete in its entirety, so that will give you a clue to just how bad this game is.

stupid

This game is simply ridiculous. I think that the whole idea of virtual tennis is stupid. It is a very complicated game(tennis). Mario tennis does not give you the control that you need for tennis. If you like tennis, than get off your butt and go fing a tennis court, get a raquet and play REAL tennis.anyhoo, back to the game, It's a little fun but it has no longevity.

Pretty good, but Mr. Miyamato has done much better.

Well, unfortunately, the time has come where I must not highly recommend one of Mr. Shigeru Miyamato's --Mario's creator-- games... I'll list the good qualities first: As always, the multiplayer is good. There is a wide enough range of character selection. There are some challenges, before a certain point. The graphics are good. The sound isn't bad. Now, after that string of bland statements, I must criticize the game. It's fun at first, as with basically any game; unfortunately, it becomes like an old arcade game...after a while, it's intolerable, and you have to wait for a long time (which I still haven't) to play it again. I know that Nintendo is capable of much better. If you're looking for a Mario game, Mario Party would be suggested instead of Mario Tennis. ...Though both can be boring without multiplayer. After this lengthy message, I just hope that you feel that you haven't wasted your money. Good luck.

Fun but tooooo easy!

This game is somewhat good, but it is too easy. When I first played it, it was fun, but in 3 days you could easily defeat all 3 cups. Multiplayer is pretty good overall. But these game is not worth buying. Rent it for a couple a days to entretain yourself a little. But don't buy it, because after a week you'll be bored of it. Graphics are OK, and the gameplay is really good. It definetly did not keep up with my expectations.

Good, but 1 Player is boring...

I think that the game is good when you have other people playing, but after you practice the game and you master the tennis shots, one player mode becomes easy. After easily starring each player, a surprise will come, but it isn't all that great. I think that if you don't have people over, this game will be no fun at all after you beat it.

Easy-to-learn, easy to lose-its-flavour: Rental.

I'm positive that whoever buys this game is going to enjoy it. They'll pop it in and, no sooner than three seconds, you'll be able to get past the star cup finals. Then, you'll try out the rings which are so much more strategic than simple back-and-forth tennis. Every so often, you'll take your luck at the Pirahna Plant challenge. You may never complete it, but it's still fun to try.

That sounds all fun and so, but what happens when you're all done? At one point in the game, you can easily beat the star cup tournament and you already have the only two hidden characters in the game. All that's left for you to do is test yourself against an insane computer. And, if you succeed, if you want to face something more challeging, you'll have to beat tournament mode for every character up to star cup and in BOTH singles and doubles.

Once you've started that cycle, the game loses its touch because it's the same thing over, and over. It's almost sad that it's so easy to learn. If it wasn't, you'd have something interesting to figure out.

So, if you want to have some Tennis Madness, rent the game. It was almost DESIGNED to be a rent-only game. Easy learning curve, gradual computer chalenges, fun multi-playing games... little reply value (due to the constant repetition), not inducing enough to want to get everything for every character (constant repetition). DO NOT BUY, RENT!

A cheating game

I put the title as "a cheating game" because it DOES cheat. It is so fun to me only if I play 2 player mode. The 1 player mode cheats, you know. It cheats because I'm a expert of the game and I go to tournament and I finshed Mushroom cup and Flower cup. I moved to Star cup, and it cheats! If it's easy, it let's you win. But, if it's hard, it let's the computor WIN! I played it and it let's the computor win. I never won. I only got 15 points and the computor gets 50. It's not fair. I loose when ever I play 1 player. It's so fun, though. I'm not saying it's bad, but it is fun.

Mario Tennis

Well, we have an interesting game here. The tennis graphics are quite good. It's great that you can play the game with friends but there are no 2,3,4-player advertures or tournaments. The tournaments are fun but quite simple and don't require much video gaming skill. The ring shot is fun and is a good tweak on the game. Mario Tennis is a lot of fun once you play it for a month or so but after that you will lose interest. It is questionable if you should invest long term intrest in this game.

Good game.

Mario Tennis is a good game. You get to play Tenis with the Mario characters. There are a lot to choose from, and the game is great to play at parties. While the game has it's good things, there are some bad things about it. The stadiums could have used a little work by making them more exciting, there could have been more levels to choose from on multi-player, the characters to choose from are never ok, they are either very good, or they stink.

The game is a good game, but not without is's many faults.
