I am lucky enough to own this game. It rocks. For people who are looking for a fun, non-violent game, this game is for you. In this game you start by inheriting your dead Grandpa's farm. You make decisions that can change the way run your farm. You can get married, have livestock, fish , build extentions, and hundreds of other things. There are also fun side goals that you can do for fun beside running your farm. The best Harvest Moon game ever. To wrap up this review, I will tell you the one word that descibes this game- SWEET!!!!!!!

best game in the world!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Most of the other reviewers started to say "Takes the chores out of farming", and "A very relaxing game,". These statements are not very true at all. For one thing, you need to plan. You need to plan your daily schedule, your social life, and your farm. And dont forget that time goes by quickly in this game ( twelve real time seconds equal one hour, as compaired to Harvest Moon GBC which has fifteen real time seconds equals one hour, and in Harvest Moon 2 GBC every thirty real seconds equals one hour.) I can only hope that Harvest Moon 3 GBC is one minute= 1 hour.
Dont get me wrong, I like this version the best. They made it simpler than the versions before it, and made it more about social life. The only bad thing is, that there is a festival every 3 days (not realy, im exagerating) and hardly any time to work.

The first time i heard of Harvest Moon was when it came out for the SNES, I searched all over for the game but no one had it. So when I heard Harvest Moon 64 was coming out I knew I had to have it. I first rented it from a video store and me and a friend basically was up all night playing it. So a few weeks later when I saved up some extra cash, I went to the store and bought it. I have done almost everything there is to do and yet I still find myself going back to play it. Heck after I beat Zelda I had to have something to do. It may seem repetitive but it's really fun and you'll find yourself having to do that one chore you hate even though you don't want to. Pick up Harvest Moon 64 you won't be disappointed.

Don't judge this game by it's description....Buy it!

When I was out searching for a good video game to buy, I came across this one, a new release at the time. The title caught my attention. Immediatly I thought, "Hey, an alien game!" I checked it out, but when I saw that it was a farming game, well, I just didn't think I could live with that. I mean, come on, a farming game?!?!? What would you do in that? Sit around on a horse and watch the ol' beauty of a sunrise? That didn't really interest me, so I decided to just let it go and never even think of buying the game. To make a longish story shorter, I ended up getting interested in the game and bought it. It is actually very interesting and fun. I can't stop playing it. You have to farm and mine and build bridges to make money, you have to try and woo a girl, of which there are five elegible wives, and make a lot of friends, plus have tons of fun in the festivals and everything else. (But especially the Festivals, like the egg-hunting festiaval. Yeah!!) So get up and buy this ol' game, and have a piece of sleeper game history!

One of the Best Games you'll ever play!!

Harvest Moon 64 is one of the best games you will ever play! Although the graphics and sound are lacking, the game is amazingly addictive and fun. Raising livestock, crops, and getting married has never been more fun. I definetly recomend this game for anyone who has a nintendo 64, and believe me you won't regret it.

Blows the SNES version away (and that's saying something)

Harvest Moon was one of those rare games (and I mean, rare, Natsume didn't circulate many of them) for the SNES that gathered a huge following without advertising. A quirky farm sim with a bit of a dating game thrown in on the side, it was surprisingly addicting, and great fun. Now its older (and even rarer) brother has stolen all the thunder. Harvest Moon 64 is the exact same premise as the first: fix up a farm, turn it profitable, be social, and impress your dad. But somewhere between the amazingly smooth graphics, the addicting farming, and the host of interesting events in town, you start to realize that you've played for much longer than you intended to. This is a must buy for anyone who's ever wanted a fun game that doesn't involve blowing things up. Just good luck finding it.

Made just for the imaginative RPG player!

In this game you take on the life of a boy, who's grandfather died, leaving his farm unattended. Deciding he wants to take it over for his grandfather, you control him through his everyday activities! Including, managing crops, tending to cattle, shiping items for money, working on getting a wife:) and dealing with odd, funny, or sad situations in your everyday life. If you like anime', RPG's, or just want a game you'll never get tired of, this one is for you!
