Grows on you

This game is very odd and spectacular. Mentioning a farming gives an image of bordom, but do not judge by appreance. But once played you become addicted and hooked. The gameplay, graphics, and everything about this game grabs you and holds on. First time I played this game I wouldn't stop for 6 hours strait. If you have played Harvest Moon on different platforms, this game is a must. If you haven't even heard of this game before, check it out because it might grow on you.

Harvest Moon Is The Best!

OK, I got HMgb for christmas, and I was like, oh, look uh cool, you run your own farm... But then I totally got into it. When I found there was a HM64 I immediatly bought it. And let me tell you it is the best game there is!

One highlight is obviously growing and harvesting crops. Each season offers its own bounty. Summer crops are tomatoes and corn, and in Fall the only crop is eggplant.

Another is raising your own livestock. First plant some pastures or buy chicken feed, then save up for chicken, cows, (mooo!) sheep. You talk to them and brush them to keep them happy. And plan ahead for a time to visit rick's tool shop for livestock essentials, like milkers and shears.

An important highlight is becoming a happily married man and a few seasons later, a father. You can marry one of five wonderful women. Popuri, the flower girl likes when you plant flowers. Maria is shy, and works in the library. She is also the mayor's daughter. Ann is lively, lives at the Green Ranch, loves animals and has a strange hobby of knitting. Elli is a baker, and is very sweet. To catch her eye, buy many goods from the bakery. Last is Karen, the sassy dancer who lives at the vineyard. Befriend her or she'll leave the second winter.

Harvest Moon also has many monthly activities, such as the the planting (or sowing) festival, which involves a 'king', two horse races, a dog race too, and even a new years celebration, ended watching the new years sun rise with your girlfriend.

Also go fishing and scavanging in the mountains, befriend forest sprites, find a hidden 'treasure in your fields (what could it be?), and revive the grapevines of a once thriving vineyard.

This is an excellent game. I highly suggest you try it out, or buy it!

Harvest Moon 64 is currently my favorite videogame. It is a game that you can play for hours on end. You can marry someone like Karen, Ann, Popuri, Elli, or Maria. In tim'e she'll have a baby. You can raise cows, chickens, or sheep. And you can grow cabbage, potatoes, and turnips in the Spring, corn and potatoes in the Summer, eggplants in the fall, and Strawberries in the winter(you have to have a greenhouse to do this which costs 30,000$ and 580 pieces of lumber). There ar festivals and stuff like that but a really cool thing is the home expansions, a greenhouse(30,000 $ & 580 pieces of lumber), a kitchen(5,000 $ and 400 pieces of lumber), a bathroom(3,000 $ and 300 pieces of lumber), a baby bed(1,000 $ & 150 pieces of lumber), a log terrace(7,000 $ and 450 pieces of lumber), and a staircase(sorry can't remeber how much money, but you need 350 pieces of lumber). I reccomend that you buy this game!

I owned Harvest Moon for snes, in the game you can grow veggies such as corn, tomatos, potatos, and turnips. But in Harvest Moon64 there will be 7 different crops to choose from! You can breed/raise/ milk cows and sheep. Along in the game you get your very own horse! and raise chickens! you can have a choice of a wife , 5, and eventually have babies! you can upgrade your house even more in the new game, kitchen, bathroom, child's room, etc. A day in Harvest Moon64 is around 5-15 minutes long! In the snes version each day is only around 2 minutes long! In the new game there are many more different festivals; Planting Festival in the spring and concluding with a New Year's bash, In between there is a Firefly Festival, a Harvest Festival, two horse races and Thanksgiving, plus ample opportunities to upgrade Flower Bud's infrastructure by repairing a bridge and opening the Mountain Spring and even more festivals! If you liked the snes or gb versions, i highly recommend you to buy Harvest Moon 64.

This was my first harvest moon game and by far, the best I've played so far.I was around 6 years old and I loved the game!I didn't have a lot of games to play because they were all fighting or pokemon games, and as a girl, I didn't like those kinds of games.I even play this game today, at the age of 12 almost 13!I would recommend this game to anyone!

Relaxing

This is an extremely good game. Not because it has many features ( although is does). Because it lacks things. It lacks the frantic quest for money of SimCity. Because it lacks the mind-boggling magic system of Final Fantasies. Because it lacks easy-to-forget statistics, numbers, levels, spells, etc., you see so often in so many other games. This one reigns supreme. This is a near-perfect simulation of a good life, which is as close as most of us will get. It's very relaxing, the animal care, the gardening, the festivals. You don't have to worry too much about anything. This is a perfect game for those of us who just want to relax.

This game is definately the best game I ever played. Here's the set up: you inherit your grandpa's farm in order to grow crops and raise animals to make a living. This may sound dumb but IT IS MOST CERTAINLY NOT DUMB. It is the best game I have ever played. Not only do you farm and raise animals, but you get to go to festivals, get married, and make friends along the way. This game is so addicting, it can make hours fly by like minutes. It has bad graphics but after a while you don't even notice them because you're tuned into the game. This game is not only fun and addicting, but is educational too. I like this game better than Zelda 64, and I'm sure other buyers do too. The folks at Natsume should get a good award for this game. I have good advice for anyone reading this: buy this game off of Amazon.com. Not only is it hard to find in stores, but you'll only get it for five dollars cheaper.(which will make up in gas spent looking for it anyway) I'm sure you'll enjoy it as much as I do.

This game is so much fun. You inherit a run-down farm from your grandfather and have to whip it back into shape. You can explore the town visit the flower shop, the bakery, the library, souvunier shop and many other places. In the mountains, you can explore all around and find berries, herbs, and other things that you can sell or give as gifts. Also, you can fish in the ponds and river in the mountains. There is also a neighboring ranch that you can buy livestock such as cows, sheep, and chickens from. There are also 5 eligible women in the village that you can befriend and even marry. Later on in the game your wife gets pregnant and has a child that you can love and care for. Also, you can visit the carpenter and buy additions to your house such as stairs, a kitchen, a bathroom, a log terrace (porch), and a greenhouse. Also, you can collect recipes by giving certain people in the village a certain vegetable. Later on in the game you are given a report on how well you did and how much you have acomplished in those 2 years and 1 season. But the game doesn't end there, you can keep playing and have a better farm and have a child or whatever you haven't accomplished. Also, there are 4 files for saved games so you can play 4 different games and see what it's like using a different approach on farming or marry someone else. Also, each girl you go after has a heart. The heart changes different colors to show how much they like you and differnt events happen when you get a girl to a certain heart such as the girl getting sick and you can visit her and keep her company. As you see, this game has alot to it and has the best replay value of any game I have ever played. I highly recommend getting this game as it is a great non-violent game that you will find yourself playing for hours at a time.
